Angrod, Maedhros, Eryn, Idril, and Lia all stared at the dragon figure. As for D, they could only hear his words, as he was invisible. Idril had heard of this power before, but she refused to believe that it could affect her. However, now that she had witnessed it, she had been dealt a severe blow.
'I can't use mana.' That was the thought running through her head. The most powerful mage in the kingdom had been reduced to a normal person, and the individual who had caused this was in hiding there. She was unable to withstand the pressure that was emitted by that dragon. Without a doubt, it was a higher existence. She was aware that it was not her match. Even if she used manifestation, her defeat was guaranteed. Right now, she could only depend on that existence that she hated. It made her angry to admit it, but she couldn't imagine that brat being defeated. She could hear that boy's voice, whose voice sounded with a calmness that was disturbing.
"Choose your words carefully, or I may accidentally kill you, as I tend to misinterpret what other people say from time to time," the invisible figure declared. It was clearly a threat.
"I see. So it was you who started all that ruckus," the dragon stated. His voice was still indifferent, and his gaze had become sharp. He seemed to be scanning the entire area for more enemies.
"Don't bother looking for more people. There's only us in this place."
"It's strange."
"??????".
"This, without a doubt, is an authority, and a very powerful one at that, guaranteeing victory in all of your battles. I am unable to sense nature in this place. Most of my abilities have been sealed. This is a terrifying power. If someone wanted to kill you, they would have to fight you hand-to-hand, but even that would be difficult, as you are quite hard to find when you hide. Allow me to ask you a question: are you able to use your powers within this place?" asked the dragon, who kept analyzing every detail presented to him. He thought he would not receive an answer, but soon his doubts were cleared.
"Yes, I am able to use all of my powers within this place. And it's as you say: if you wish to kill me, you'll have to fight melee, without the aid of external mana, and defeat me. To be honest, it's a bad idea to go against me once I release this authority. And another thing: if you stay in this place for too long, I will undoubtedly be able to completely suppress your internal mana, and empowering your body with internal mana will become impossible," said the existence that remained invisible.
"I understand what you're trying to tell me. I know you're not lying to me. After all, I can feel the force of your authority suppressing my mana. But even though I'm in a bad situation, I can't just leave. I was given a mission, and failure is not an option," the dragon declared. His gaze didn't show the slightest hint of fear. He was more than prepared to fight to the death.
"You are so stubborn, but I admire your courage. Since it has come to this, there is no other option," declared the invisible existence.
With that said, the dragon bent down on one knee and placed his right hand on what seemed to be the ground of the place. He tried to activate something resembling a spell. Everyone could see the spell forming, but it was instantly broken soon after.
"Spells are also affected," the dragon said.
"Correct. I can see that you were trying to summon something from another dimensional space. Was it a weapon?" the invisible existence asked.
"Yes, I was going to bring the perfect weapon capable of killing you," he declared with unwavering confidence. It was more than clear that he was not lying. Had he lied, he would have suffered serious consequences. The next words of the invisible existence shocked everyone present, and a look of surprise could finally be seen on the dragon's face.
"I see. Then I'll let you bring your gun."
"Are you looking down on me, a dragon?" he asked. The declaration of that existence had left him shocked. Someone was looking down on him. It was the first time this had happened to him.
"Don't take it as an insult. Trust me, you're going to need more than a weapon to kill me. Even I feel bad for the poor creatures who decide to face me," declared the existence that had remained hidden until now. It was more than clear that he was confident, but the real reason why he was going to allow the dragon to summon his weapon was because he wanted to steal it, after all the invisible existence was reading the dragon's mind and had discovered several very interesting things, such as that the dragon had access to a warehouse full of legendary weapons and that each weapon had a special power. Another thing that he had discovered by reading his mind had been that, in truth, he planned to kill him in hand-to-hand combat. That dragon seemed to be able to vaguely perceive it, thanks to the slight air currents that had filtered into the authority.
"You're going to regret your decision," he declared.
"I won't. Go ahead and try summoning your weapon," said the existence that remained hidden.
Once the invisible existence confirmed to the dragon that it could now summon its weapon, the dragon quickly placed its hand back on the white ground. A golden magic circle quickly appeared, from which a weapon slowly began to emerge. It was a rapier. It was different from the weapons the invisible existence had seen since it had come to this new world.
"How unusual. Are you planning to stab me to death with that?"
"Relax, you'll find out soon enough."
When the dragon declared that he would be uncovering it very soon, almost immediately, the muscles in his legs swelled, and in a swift movement, he lunged forward and cut the distance between himself and the hidden existence. Everyone present had been shocked by the tremendous speed that the dragon was displaying, despite not being able to use his mana properly. With each passing second in this place, his control over mana weakened. But this did not seem to be an impediment to him. When he reached a certain space, he tightly gripped the rapier in his right hand and stabbed it into the void. There was nothing special about this rapier; it was just a rusty weapon that seemed to have no edge at all. In a way, it seemed harmless. But the reality was very different. The rapier had soon encountered resistance in the void. Everyone witnessed how the rapier seemed to have collided with something extremely hard, and an echo had spread throughout the place.
"What?" the dragon asked in shock. The rapier that had been blessed with the 'penetration attribute' was unable to pierce its target.
"It's definitely a good weapon, but it lacked power. Now it's my turn."
As the invisible existence uttered those words, almost instantly, the rapier shattered into small pieces, all the way to the hilt. The dragon could see how a legendary weapon was reduced to tiny fragments.
"Impossible. Even if your authority is restricting the mana, it shouldn't be able to weaken the power that was granted to that weapon," he said in confusion.
"And who said I weakened the power of that weapon?"
"So how?"
"It's simple. I destroyed that weapon using a power greater than it possessed. I could tell that the rapier had some penetrating power. It was quite dangerous, no doubt about it," the invisible figure stated. He was more than satisfied with the result. He had taken a risk and used the piece of door he had taken from that library as a shield. The result satisfied him. He was no fool; he was not going to let himself be stabbed with a rapier that, in addition to easily penetrating almost anything, also had the ability to seriously damage a person's soul.
