Chapter 71 - An Unwanted Visit II

Fanaryss's words had fallen like a bucket of cold water on everyone's heads. The confusion was evident, as they knew that no one in their right mind would enter the divine beast's territory of their own free will.

"Interesting. It seems that someone strong entered, broke through the outer barrier I had set up, and it seemed to take no time at all to do so. Without a doubt, he is a higher existence," Fanaryss said. She did not say it, but she was in a very good mood; after all, someone powerful had entered her abode of their own free will. She was eager for a fight; she had been waiting for someone worthy of her for a long time. This intrusion was a blessing from the heavens.

Every word that came out of the divine beast's mouth made the members of the royal family who were listening attentively nervous. It was normal for them to be worried; after all, if this place was no longer safe, they wouldn't be able to find another place besides this one that was safe enough.

"Is this an enemy or an ally?" Angrod asked with concern in his voice.

"I don't know, but we'll soon find out," Fanaryss replied. Usually, she had wide vision; she was able to see anyone who came into contact with her mana, but in this case, she was unable to clearly see the person in question. She seemed to be hiding; it was more than clear that the intruder's skill was excellent. It didn't take long for the intruder to show himself; the rustling of grass could be heard as that individual walked at a slow pace. Fanaryss looked at a certain section of the forest she was in, and at the same time, all the members of the royal family followed her line of sight. What they saw left them speechless: the figure that had appeared was that of a tall man with golden hair and golden eyes that seemed to shine. But that wasn't all; the very instant everyone saw the man's figure, they almost immediately all knelt down. The only individual who remained without kneeling was the divine beast. Angrod, Maedhros, Eryn, Idril, and Lia had fallen to their knees against their will; their bodies were unresponsive to them. Fear had already gripped every nerve in their body; they were sweating profusely and trembling uncontrollably. It was more than clear that all of this was due to that figure that had appeared. When that figure finished emerging from the forest and fully revealed its figure, Angrod immediately knew what that individual was.

"Greetings," said the being who had just arrived. He had given a greeting to all the people present. That individual's voice caused even more fear in those present who were on their knees; not a hint of emotion could be felt in his words. His face only showed indifference. That individual scanned all the elves who were kneeling and then spoke:

"My sincerest apologies, I didn't mean to do this. No matter how much I suppress my presence, this happens." The individual who had arrived was apologizing; it didn't seem like he meant to make them kneel.

"But don't worry, I won't be here for long. I've only come to ask a few questions and I'll leave immediately once my doubts are resolved," declared the individual who had just arrived. Unfortunately, the royal family couldn't reply to that statement, as their bodies couldn't even properly utter words. If they had tried to speak, they would have bitten their tongues.

Fanaryss had been staring at the creature that had appeared. She knew exactly what it was; she didn't need to ask about its race. It was more than clear that it wasn't a human. She had been waiting for a worthy opponent for a long time; she wasn't going to let this opportunity to fight pass her by, so she declared… Her face showed a look of amusement; despite having the face of a wolf, her enormous teeth could be seen. It was more than clear that she was smiling and her eyes seemed to shine with her contained excitement.

"May I ask what these questions are?" Fanaryss had finally spoken. His voice had become more imposing than it already was and his normally repressed presence was slowly being released. His desire to fight was slowly coming to light. This did not go unnoticed by that individual.

"I apologize for breaking your barrier, but let me make one thing clear to you: I did not come here to fight. So, put your fighting intentions aside. The reason for my visit is because I have come to investigate certain phenomena that have been occurring in this realm."

"The affairs of this kingdom are none of your concern," Fanaryss declared confidently and in an arrogant tone. Her intentions were to provoke him; she wanted him to lose control.

"Everything that has to do with balance is my concern," declared the figure that had appeared. His voice was still just as indifferent; his golden-colored eyes were firmly fixed on the great beast. Not a trace of fear could be seen in them; in fact, he seemed to be looking down on the great divine beast. It was as if he knew that he could kill it any time he wanted to.

"I don't care, I want you to leave this place and never set foot in this realm again. Any imbalance that forms will be dealt with by the people of this realm; no one has asked for your help." Fanaryss knew immediately that this being knew that an imbalance had formed, not just on an atmospheric level.

Hearing the disrespectful words of the divine beast, the individual frowned; he was already starting to get annoyed. He was usually patient with other creatures and had always come to an understanding, but this was the first time a creature of nature dared to go against him. He had already noticed that this beast was purposely provoking him and was looking for a fight.

"It's rather strange that you're purposely provoking me. I've heard that you've been hiding for centuries; rumors said that you've been seriously injured and were currently recovering, but seeing you in person I know that's not the real reason. You've already reached an almost god-like level; just by sensing your presence and lightly seeing your aura I can tell that the reason you're hiding is because you're not allowed to walk on this earth; the world considers you a threat. The only reason you haven't been annihilated yet is because you've remained within this decaying authority," the subject stated. He knew immediately that this entire area they were in was some sort of authority that was meant to hide something that needed to be destroyed.

"So what if the world considers me a threat?" Fanaryss said confidently. She didn't show it on her face, but she was extremely surprised by how sharp this individual was. Without a doubt, he was no nobody.

"It's strange. Something is happening in this place. Beasts that became intelligent beasts are supposed to always try to protect and follow the will of the world, but look at you, you seem to want to go against the will of the world. You are an existence that must be eradicated." His voice turned even colder. This caused the atmosphere to change subtly. Noticing that the guy in question had already decided to fight, the divine beast finally stood up. With every movement the divine beast made to stand up, the area trembled. It was more than clear that the weight of the beast was enormous. The shadow of the divine beast covered everyone present. When it finished standing up, it immediately declared:

"About time you got up the courage to fight! You're quite the odd fellow. Usually, if it were another dragon, I know they would have attacked me long ago. You sure are quite proud," Fanaryss sneered.

Now that the two of them were facing each other, they had begun scanning each other. It was more than clear that they were going to start a confrontation, or rather a fight to the death, where the strongest would come out alive and the weakest would give their life. But just as both of them were about to make their moves, they could hear a sound of footsteps coming from the nearby trees, and with that sound came a bloodlust that made the person who had invaded and was supposed to be a dragon quickly turn in their direction. Not only him, even the divine beast fixed its gaze in that direction. Neither of those two great beings had sensed the presence of that being hiding among the trees until they heard the footsteps of that being, which came accompanied with a powerful bloodlust, which made both the dragon and the divine beast immediately become serious and stop the fight they were about to start. Soon a voice was heard; it was the voice of a child whose age did not even reach 10 years old.

"Good evening. Please excuse my intrusion; I didn't want to enter this place like this, but I sensed two large energies in this area and I was curious, so I came to investigate a little. How about you let me join your fight?" declared the figure that was still hidden. He seemed to be invisible; no one could see his true appearance, but the royal family recognized the voice and immediately knew who it belonged to. But unfortunately, they couldn't even look at him, as they were all looking at the ground and kneeling, unable to gather enough strength to get up. This was quickly noticed by that existence that remained invisible to everyone. This didn't seem to please that being, so he decided to whisper a few words that were barely audible and that no one could hear:

"Liar's World".

Once that existence, which remained invisible, said those words, as if responding to its will, the world around everyone present instantly changed. Everyone was transported into a world that seemed to have been painted white: the sky was white, the ground was white, everything was white in this place. The divine beast immediately knew that this was an authority that had been activated, and the dragon had also noticed that the being hiding was no nobody. The being remained hidden even now:

"Angrod, Maedhros, Eryn, Idril and Lia, you have my permission; you may move."

When the invisible existence said those words, the pressure that was being generated by the dragon was quickly suppressed; not even a hint of pressure could be felt in the area anymore. Quickly, the royal family regained enough strength and, one by one, they stood up. The only one who failed to stand up was Lia; her legs were not responding and a liquid seemed to flow from between her legs. Soon, her mother took her in her arms and helped her up. Although the pressure from that being had disappeared, their bodies still vividly remembered the fear. Angrod was the first to recover and speak:

"Looks like you made quite a fuss out there." He had tried to form a smile on his face, but he couldn't; his body was still numb.

"We'll talk about that later, Angrod. But answer me one thing: who is the elf girl's enemy? That golden-haired fellow or that giant beast?"

Angrod knew immediately why he was asking about who the elf girl's enemy was. It wasn't just him who noticed; Maedhros, Eryn and Idril noticed as well, and a chill was running down their spines; a different fear had invaded them, even though there was no longer an aura pressing down on them in the area.

"That big giant wolf, it's the divine beast; she's the one who's been taking care of the royal family's protection in difficult times; in short, she's an ally. And as for the other person who has golden hair, she's a dragon who seems to be aiming to find out about the incident where two authorities collided. We got into this situation because the divine beast refused to answer its questions," Angrod replied.

"I understand," the invisible figure replied. He had been silent; he seemed to be contemplating things. While he was contemplating things, the golden-haired dragon spoke:

"Who are you?" The dragon asked, staring intently at a certain spot. He seemed to be able to vaguely sense the existence that was trying to hide; he knew that his control over mana had been completely disrupted; he could barely use any magic skills.

"You don't need to know that. Let's make things a little simpler. You see, I've been fighting since early in the morning; I've been fighting and killing bastards who've been coming to bother the elf girl for several hours; from what I see, you've bothered her too. But you're in luck; I'm already tired of killing people, so I'll let you leave this place alive if you leave quietly," the invisible figure declared. Every single word he had said would, without a doubt, be fulfilled.

"Or you can stay and perish under my hand. I suppose you've already realized that you can't fight on equal terms against me."

The invisible figure was already declaring his victory; he was fully confident in his power and that he would not be outdone by this existence in front of him. The invisible figure knew that there was only one path for this being and that was death if he went against his will.
