Everyone was shocked by my sudden statement. Only a few knew what I was talking about. The first to process my words was Angrod, who immediately ordered everyone out of the room in an authoritative voice:
"Leave the room; I need to speak to him alone."
Seeing the expression on his face, everyone had no choice but to turn around and leave the room. The expression on his face was terrifying. It wasn't long before the room fell silent and finally there were only two people left inside. When it was just the two of them, they started the conversation. The first to break the silence was Angrod:
"What are those conditions?"
Angrod's face was serious, but the other party's face was calm and a faint smile could be seen on his face.
"The first condition: I will be your granddaughter's magic tutor. I will teach her how to use magic for the time she remains in this kingdom, and I want no one to question my methods."
Angrod frowned upon hearing those words. That condition was a bit strange coming from D. He paused to contemplate for a while and then asked:
"And what is the second condition?"
"You will lend me the royal guard. I will be using them to hone my powers, and I will also be using them to eliminate the guys who will be invading this mansion in the coming days."
His statements echoed throughout the room. One word was more delicate than the other. Angrod's expression hardened with each statement he made.
"It's strange."
"What do you mean by that?"
Angrod was suspicious of the conditions. Everything seemed very strange. It was abnormal, since the person in question was not gaining anything.
"What do you gain?"
A strange laugh came from the white-haired, blue-eyed boy. It wasn't the laugh of an ordinary boy; it was a mad laugh.
"Hahahaha, it's simple; my profit will be the heads of your granddaughter's enemies."
"That doesn't seem like a profit."
Angrod didn't seem to believe the boy's words. Everything he said and came out of his mouth seemed to be excuses. The boy, noticing that that wouldn't convince him, decided to give another explanation.
"Relax, Angrod. I didn't say I wouldn't charge you; in fact, it's going to cost you an arm and a leg. I recommend you start looking for some worthy magical items or rare things that will catch my attention. My service won't be free."
This explanation seemed to convince Angrod. It was rare for someone to accept as a reward the heads of enemies he himself would kill.
"I understand; the second condition can be fulfilled. I just need to talk to the king about it, but as for the first condition, I need to think about it for a bit."
"Take your time, Angrod, but don't take too long. Soon this mansion will be engulfed in screams and pools of blood. The elf girl's enemies may attack at any moment. Keep that fact in mind."
Angrod frowned. He was basically being warned that the enemies were ready to attack them at any moment. He was confirming that the enemies were already ready to attack his family and he didn't know anything about what was going on.
"What do you know?"
The boy replied in a slightly mocking voice:
"I'll tell you once you agree to my conditions."
Angrod couldn't just accept the first condition. He had to discuss it with the girl's parents and her aunt. It wasn't just his decision, but he basically didn't have much choice, since that being wouldn't agree to help them if those conditions weren't met.
"I will inform you of my decision before nightfall."
"Fine by me. Send one of the royal guards to inform me; after all, none of them are traitors."
Angrod nodded in understanding. It was more than clear that the white-haired, blue-eyed boy knew a lot about the current situation and knew about things that no one had been able to perceive. He seemed to be conducting his own investigation in secret. Without a second thought, he turned around and left the room. Outside the door, Eru was waiting for him. He seemed to have heard the entire conversation they had. On the other hand, Idril had left some time ago to report to the king.
"Come on, Eru."
"Understood, master."
Inside the room lay the young man with white hair and blue eyes. He had a big smile on his face. It seemed like everything made him laugh.
"Hahahaha, things are going to get out of hand. It's almost time."
I was very surprised by the situation. The two intruders had an arsenal of plans prepared and powers that I didn't fully understand yet. They had somehow managed to observe me without using Mana, which meant that they still had tricks that I didn't know about.
One thing I was absolutely sure of, and that was that their plan was going to fail. This assassination attempt they were planning would fail because of my intervention, but I was no idiot. I knew that the moment I left this realm, they would attack the girl again. Hence my interest in teaching her about magic. To be honest, I didn't even know where to start teaching her, but I would think of something. My goal was to teach her magic and make her strong enough to protect herself. I already had something prepared in case I couldn't teach her anything useful. It was insurance to safeguard the girl's life.
The insurance I had for the girl was one of my creations, or rather a prototype weapon. D had been working on it. Although, to be honest, I didn't know if it would work, since it seemed the person in question had to know how to use Mana, or at least possess said energy within their body.
"She should be able to do the same thing as me."
- YES, IN TERMS OF TALENT SHE EASILY SURPASSES OUR VESSEL.
"Okay; you'll be in charge of waking up the girl."
In order for the elf girl to be able to use my creation, she was required to be able to use Mana. That was a condition that had to be met, and that was one of the reasons I asked her grandfather to be the girl's magic tutor. I was absolutely certain that her grandfather had noticed that something was wrong. How on earth did you teach a girl to use Mana when she hadn't even awakened such power in her body? Usually, children begin to awaken Mana in their bodies at the age of 10. Other rare cases would awaken it earlier. It should be noted that those who awaken it before the age of 10 are considered geniuses and have unlimited potential for magic.
My plan was simple. The condition I gave the girl's grandfather clearly stated that I didn't want anyone to question my methods. And that was the trick. The girl's grandfather was probably thinking that I would simply show her my magic in a certain way. That suited them, since they could analyze me and find a way to defeat me, but their deductions were wrong. I wasn't just planning to show the girl my magic; I was planning to awaken her own magic. There was a small risk, though, and that was that the elf girl might explode if I made the slightest mistake, which I wouldn't allow to happen.
My urgency to teach the elf girl magic was because I didn't fully trust the abilities of those royal guardians. Well, I didn't trust my own abilities either, as the enemies had proven to be very capable and very cunning. It was more than clear that they could kill anyone they wanted at any time. They were experts in their craft. The only reason I had an advantage in this situation was because they had very little data about me and my power. I was sure that I had the advantage over them. After all, I had acquired new powers.
D had opened my Mana channels years ago. It was easy for him to do so. After all, he is able to control every drop of blood that flows through my veins. Whatever is inside my body, he is able to detect and analyze it. Opening my Mana channels was easy for him, but there was something to keep in mind, and that was that my situation was very different from the girl's. According to the analysis we had done, that process would undoubtedly cause great pain to the elf girl, one that he doubted she could withstand at her small and young age.
"The plant with a human face will play an important role; make sure it cooperates with us when the time comes, D."
- UNDERSTOOD.
