Chapter 2 - Are you Afraid of the Dark?

Nathaniel and his friends roamed the busy streets until they got to their destination. It was night time by the time they reached it. The site was on the outskirts of the city.

It was a barn, the red paint was almost unrecognizable and animal carcasses littered the floor. There was three statues of giant pitch black humans, except their eyes were yellow and had wings sprouting out. On the statues the phrase " Praise Nightmare, Leave Dreams." For the cult, it was like a band slogan.

" What the hell?"

He turned to Sol, who was hanging onto Seres like a scared child at this point. He looked like he'd seen a ghost. He then spoke, explaining his expression.

" I saw something move in the barn."

Sol's baby blues eyes scanned the area. He was 15, thought looked like a malnourished 13 year old with blonde hair in the form of a buzz-cut. His height was only 5'8, he was basically a midget in Nathaniel's eyes.

So, when he was scared he looked like a jumpy furless cat. Nathaniel spoke after taking in this sight.

" I'll check out the barn."

He flicked his flashlight to on, examining the barn. It was a short jog over to it. Since he was closer, he could see that the walls had nightmare written all over it.

He muttered to himself.

" Nightmare, huh?"

He then fell to his knees, a splitting head-ache. He felt as if he was going to throw up, and then the feeling faded. He turned around to see Seres and Sol looking with a bit of concern. Though he couldn't make out their exact faces, he could see the shadow of their faces have more fear. He would end that fear and concern here and now.

He decided to rush into the barn, screaming, making as much noise as possible to lure out hidden evils.

Though, the scream he heard wasn't his. It was Sol's. What did he say, was it behind. . .no, it was behind you?

Nathaniel looked behind himself. Though, it was too late. A bag covered his head. Conciousness faded in and out. His thoughts disappeared.
