Chapter 1 - Prologue

Throughout my life as a biologist, I have studied and discovered almost 70% of the Earth's fauna and flora. But I have not achieved my greatest desire...

In the center of a white room, surrounded by futuristic-looking equipment. A tall, pale man who appears to be between 50 and 60 years old, experiences yet another failure:

"Damn it!" the man shouted, throwing the vials off his desk, staining the white floor of the laboratory with multicolored substances.

Noah Smith spent 40 years of his mortal life studying genetic codes, with only one goal: 'to create a new intelligent race.'

He refuses to die without achieving his dream. Little by little, Noah's anger diminished, leaving only sadness and disappointment.

Surrounded by his high negative emotions, Noah felt his chest tighten and his heart begin to ache.

'No, I can't die yet!' His mind was working at a speed that would put quantum computers in certain universes to shame.

The world seemed to stop for a few seconds, but for Noah, it was an eternity.

Feeling his eyelids heavy, he closed his eyes for the last time as a small tear ran down his old, wrinkled face.

'What a comforting feeling. Is this what death is like?' Lost in thought, Noah hears a monotonous voice echo from all directions:

"LITTLE CHILD, WAKE UP!"

Startled by the sudden voice, he opens his eyes in fear, looking everywhere. Raising his eyes, he freezes.

'My God! What the hell is this?!' he screams in his mind after seeing the being in front of him.

He is as tall as Everest, maybe even taller. His body seems to contain millions of stars and nebulae, his eyes shine like a quasar.

"Lord God?" Noah asked trying to maintain his composure.

"WELL, YOU'RE NOT WRONG, BUT AT THE SAME TIME YOU'RE NOT RIGHT."

"..." Noah observed him with a neutral expression. 'Seriously? Why do supreme beings use riddles? Can't you give me a straight answer?' he complained in his mind.

"Yeah... LET'S SAY I'M ABOVE THE GODS..." the being replied, turning his face away. He seemed embarrassed to hear Noah's thoughts.

"..." Noah.

Cough! Cough!

"THAT'S NOT IMPORTANT, TIME IS SHORT. LET'S GET TO THE POINT" exclaimed the being, trying to change the subject, which was effective, as it aroused Noah's curiosity.

Shrinking its size to match Noah's, the entity took the form of a woman with a maternal aura exuding from her entire being.

"First of all, you can call me Vida!"

Her soft and melodic voice, along with her aura, made Noah feel more at ease.

"I am the entity that represents life in general. From small insects to large dragons, I created them all." Waiting for Noah to absorb the information, Vida continued:

"From time to time, there have been many like you! They wanted to create new species, but deep down they were just self-centered mortals who had a 'God' complex. Some dark agenda behind their plans."

"But you're different! Your desire is pure, you don't want to be a god, much less use this new race for dark purposes."

Being praised so eloquently, Noah felt a little embarrassed and looked away.

"Well, changing the subject again, I want to propose a deal!" Vida spoke, making Noah turn his gaze to her.

"Go ahead!" Hearing Vida say "deal" he spoke with a serious face. Despite being a renowned biologist, Noah was still an old and experienced man.

"No need to be so serious."

Sigh!

"Okay!" Despite still being serious, Noah let out a sigh of relief. It may not seem like it, but he is still wary of life. It's not every day that you die and meet the personification of "Life" itself.

"The deal will be as follows; you will work for me for 5 cycles. During the cycles I will provide you with the knowledge and power to create your own race. What do you say?" asked Vida.

"Hmm... Lady Life, how long would 5 cycles be?"

Realizing her little mistake, Vida let out a soft laugh:

"Fufufu. My mistake, sometimes I forget that you're still a mortal."

'Still?' A small smile formed on Noah's lips. His eyes now shone like a child.

'Does that mean that after the end of the cycle, I will no longer be mortal?! '

"Well, 1 cycle would be the end and restart of a universe." She said with an innocent smile, not realizing that she had just destroyed the dreams of a little biologist.

"..." Noah.

"..." Life.

Blinking his eyes a few times, Noah asks in a trembling voice:

"Could you repeat that, Mrs. Life?"

"~Of course!" In an even softer voice, Life spoke again:

"1 cycle is equal to the end and restart of a universe!"

'Damn!' Complaining about his bad luck, Noah continues to ask questions to better understand his "job".

In short, Noah's job will only be to observe and create a record of all the beings that have already existed and those that will be born during these 5 cycles.

Thinking about it, Noah would still be a biologist... But on a much larger scale.

Without thinking twice, he accepted his new job and began his "little" journey.

...First century...

In the first century, Noah learned how the Omniverse worked, even if only superficially. His "mortal" mind was still too fragile to store higher knowledge.

...Millennials...

Noah abandoned his mortal shell, ascending as a being of pure energy. He had this idea after recording a race that, in order to expand their knowledge, abandons its limitations. Now he can acquire and store more meta-knowledge.

...First cycle...

Noah can no longer be called mortal. He has awakened his omniscience, even if it is of a low degree. Over the ages, he has witnessed the beginning and fall of millions of civilizations; from magical to technologically advanced.

...Fourth cycle...

Noah has already gained insights into what his race will be like. Despite living through several cycles and having achieved a higher power, he has not abandoned his worldly dream. In fact, after witnessing various creatures, from the most bizarre to the most beautiful, his will grew and solidified.

....Fifth cycle...

Noah is floating in the void of space. In front of him, a beautiful light show is happening now. The end, in a literal sense. This is the end of yet another universe.

'No matter how many times I see it, it's beautiful!'

A beautiful voice penetrated Noah's ears, pulling him out of his thoughts:

"~I see you managed to maintain your essence, Noah!"

Snapping out of his reverie, Noah quickly focused his attention on the beautiful woman in front of him. Before, because his mortal mind couldn't handle it, he couldn't see Life in all its glory.

Wasting no time, he used one of his abilities, which he had acquired over the cycles.

A skill that the entity Noah had developed after observing the entire cosmos.

Before Noah's eyes, an ancient-looking screen appeared.

"Tsk! I still don't have much information." Noah said in exasperation.

"~Fufufu~ don't be so upset, now you can see some information!" Vida tried to cheer Noah up, even though he was now an entity that had lived much longer than a few universes, he hadn't lost his essence, he had kept his personality, desires and ambitions.

"~Well, now that you've finished your work, what are you going to do?" Vida asked. She was quite curious about Noah's plans.

"Well, now that I'm free, I intend to create my new race!" he said with his eyes shining like two stars, literally...

"~fufufu~ young people today are so energetic!"

"Well, let's get started! Time to create a new race."

Creating a translucent screen in front of him, Noah began to realize his dream.

He started with the appearance of his race.

'Hmm. It has to be a humanoid race.' Noah thought, making small adjustments to the 3D model avatar in front of him. The avatar resembled the creation mode of some games like The Sims, but with unlimited editing freedom.

Noah always thought elf ears were beautiful, so these beautiful ears could not be left out. He was so excited that he didn't even notice the time passing, by the time he finished, another cycle had already passed.

'Hehe, maybe I exaggerated.' Noah smiled ironically, rubbing his hand behind his neck.

'But it was worth it!' In front of him, is his masterpiece. He shaped the avatar according to the appearance he decided for his future body.

Long silver hair that covered his pointed ears, reaching down to his thighs, two pairs of obsidian horns in the shape of a crown. His skin was dark as night. His eyes were bright, in the background it was possible to see nebulae passing behind his irises that resembled a neutron star.

Without wasting time, he absorbed the avatar in front of him. This avatar was his last reward from Life, before it hibernated for a few more cycles. It allowed Noah to create and incorporate his creation. Unfortunately, it was a single-use item.

After absorbing the avatar, Noah's entire being was altered. His soul now had a form. Slowly his body gained bones, muscles, blood vessels, mana vessels.

For the entire transformation to finish, it took another century. But it was worth it.

Now standing in the middle of the void of space, a man with an ethereal beauty was floating. His long hair rose according to gravity, the light he exuded looked like a small galaxy.

"I feel alive again!"

His magnetic voice drifted throughout the vacuum of space.

"Hmm... Open status!" Noah exclaimed.
