Stepping out of the portal, Shuri surveyed the group in front of her. Even though she had not yet fully become a Starhear, she already had access to her racial abilities. This was a bonus from her subsystem, an incentive for the user to complete the mission and gain permanent access to the powers of the subrace.
Soon the portal closed and the rain stopped. A ray of light descended upon Shuri, making the scene even more divine.
Takako was stunned by the scene before her. Regaining her composure, she carefully advanced towards Shuri. As one of the strongest sorceresses of the Heian Era and the captain of the Sun, Moon, and Star Assassination Squad, she had to find out whether the being in front of her was friend or foe. Even if the chance of victory was slim to none if the entity in front of her was hostile, she would do everything in her power.
With cold sweat running down her back, Takako gave Shuri a slight bow.
"Your Holiness, may I know what your intentions are in coming to this temple?" Takako asked, even though her head was slightly tilted downwards and her attitude was respectful, one could hear a slight trace of arrogance coming from her voice.
"~Ara~ara, what a brave girl we have here!" Shuri replied playfully. She didn't mind Takako's attitude, especially since Shuri wasn't a goddess. But she always liked to play with people, perhaps a trait she gained from being Amaterasu's miko.
Feeling the tension rising, Shuri decided to stop joking around, at least for now.
"I wasn't that tense, young lady, but before knowing my purpose, wouldn't it be more logical to know who I am?" Shuri asked.
Realizing her mistake, Takako was embarrassed: "Forgive me if I was rude, my name is Takako Uro." She responded by trying to change the subject.
Nodding her head Shuri replies, "It's a pleasure to meet you Takako-san, I'm Shuri Himejima."
Without wasting any time, Shuri activates her analysis ability on Takako. Even though she is stronger, it is not good to let your guard down around strangers.
Name: Takako Uro
Age: 26 years old
Race: Human (Wizard)
Titles: Captain of the Sun, Moon and Stars Squadron.
Occupation: Jujutsu Sorcerer
Affiliation: Sun, Moon and Stars Squadron
After seeing the status Shuri raises a curious eyebrow at the term 'Jujutsu Sorcerer'.
'What does Jujutsu sorcerer mean?' she asked her system.
[The Jujutsu Sorcerers in this world are the equivalent of the onmyōji in your world.]
With her doubts resolved, Shuri was quickly thinking about how to use Takako and her squad to complete her mission. Even though Takako's individual strength left something to be desired, she still had other uses; as a resident of this world, Takako should have plenty of information about the current state.
With that in mind, Shuri decided to start her plans, the faster she completes this mission, the faster she will see her daughter again.
"Tell me Takako-san, do you know the name Ryomen Sukuna?" Shuri asked calmly, but her expression soon changed as she stopped an attack that came her way.
Shuri looked confused at Takako who was now in front of her with a dagger pointed at her neck. Thanks to Shuri's reflexes, she didn't get a scratch. Realizing that her attack had no effect on Shuri, Takako jumped back and landed in a fighting stance.
Before Takako had time to react, Shuri appeared in front of her, creating a small glass box trapping Takako. This surprised everyone present.
'What happened? We were talking and suddenly it turned into a fight??' Shuri complained in her heart. She was an extremely kind woman, even to her attackers, which was one of the reasons that led to her death.
Inside the box, Takako was increasingly agitated, attacking with all her might. A stream of cyan-colored energy surrounded Takako's body, flowing towards her right arm.
Shuri had a bad feeling when she felt the energy gathering in Takako's hand, it wasn't a life-threatening danger, but she still didn't want to wait and see. Raising her hand with a closed fist Shuri flew towards the glass box where Takako was.
She pulled her arm back and controlling her strength, she delivered a direct blow to Takako's abdomen, breaking the box and sending Takako a few meters away.
Takako felt as if a carriage of wild horses had run over her body. With difficulty, she stood up, still staggering, and looked into Shuri's eyes.
"Could you explain to me why this confrontation happened?" Shuri asked, not intimidated by the hateful look she was receiving from Takako.
Not receiving any response, Shuri began to put the pieces together and quickly came to a conclusion: "I know!! You think I'm involved with this Sukuna guy, right?" Shuri shouted as she slammed her closed hand into the palm of her other hand.
Hearing Shuri's question, Takako was stunned for a few seconds: "Huh? You're not?" she asked.
Realizing the girl's misunderstanding, Shuri started laughing. Which caused Takako to blush slightly. A while ago, Takako's squad was almost completely decimated by Sukuna, so even the mention of his name could cause an uncontrollable rage. Angel on the side watched the entire confrontation with his mouth open.
'These idiots, one minute they're talking, the next they randomly start a fight.' She snorted, turning her head away.
Realizing that Takako made a mistake by being overcome by her emotions, Shuri did not pursue the matter further. Then returning to the temple along with Takako, Anjel and the rest of the members present, Shuri explained about her mission to seal Sukuna, she omitted some details such as who ordered it or where she comes from.
Upon hearing about Shuri's mission, Takako was now determined to seal Sukuna, even if it cost her life. She would pay in kind for the massacre of her squad.
Meanwhile, in Ceslital Sanctuarium, Noah watched Shuri sitting on her throne.
"Is this Sukuna really that dangerous?" asked Amaterasu who was still standing next to him dressed in a panda costume.
Noah looked at the eccentric goddess-king who was sitting in a small rocking chair and let out a long sigh. Amaterasu was truly an eccentric woman, it had only been 10 hours since Shuri left for her mission. In that short period of time, Amaterasu had already changed her clothes 8 times. Her outfits ranged from weird to cute.
Now she was very cute in this panda outfit, combined with her small stature, Amaterasu looked more like a big teddy bear.
Noticing their gazes, Amaterasu jumped from her chair towards Noah and sat on his lap. Poking his cheeks she asked again with a pout:
"Mou, aren't you going to answer me?"
"Sorry, I was distracted." Noah replied, exasperated by the goddess's careless manner.
'That goddess is going to get kidnapped one day.' Noah thought as he looked at the mischievous goddess.
"Well, Sukuna himself isn't dangerous." Noah said, pausing for Amaterasu to pay attention.
"But the Sukuna of that world is no longer the same." Noah continued.
He explained it in a simpler way so that Amaterasu would understand better.
50 years ago, an entity of the same caliber as Noah chose a wandering soul from a planet called Earth. He reincarnated that soul into the body of an evil sorcerer. Simply put, the current Sukuna of the Heian Era is not the same. Now with the help of the entity, he can break the chains that restrict him in that world.
And why did Noah choose to seal instead of kill? It's simple, from what he understood, the entity will return when the protagonist of that world is born, that is, 1000 years in the future.
If Noah kills the fake Sukuna now, the entity will become wary, and Noah won't be able to destroy it once and for all. But if he just seals Sukuna, he will not only reduce the casualties in the world, but he also has a high chance of locating the entity the moment it appears again.
Noah also has plans to turn some people - women - into Quazzennyans.
After the conversation ended, Amaterasu decided to create a small room next to Noah's temple, this goddess was truly carefree. With the room ready, Amaterasu said goodbye to Noah and went to sleep.
When Amaterasu left the throne room, Noah went back to investigate the temporal rift that occurred when he arrived in this world. He already had some assumptions about what really happened. And the most likely one was that another cosmic being was trying to interfere with this timeline. When he sensed Noah's arrival, he felt threatened, deciding to take drastic measures to eliminate Noah's protégé. That's why he sent Rose to the past, forcing Noah to use his possession ability. Now that Rose could not use the ability again, this entity would try to destroy her once and for all. That way, Noah would be forced to leave this world.
Little did the entity know that Noah had already discovered his whereabouts after he finished analyzing the residual energy.
'Looks like there's going to be one less cosmic entity.' Noah thought with an expressionless face, he's going to repay the assassination attempt in the cruelest way possible.
