The growl intensified, reverberating through the dense forest. From the shadows emerged a massive beast, its fur matted and eyes gleaming with predatory intent. It resembled a wolf, but far larger and more menacing than any I had ever seen.
Instinct took over. Despite the unfamiliarity of this world, my training remained ingrained in my very being. I channeled the ambient energy around me—nature energy, as this world lacked the chakra I was accustomed to.
In a fluid motion, I formed the necessary hand signs. "Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!" I declared, expelling a massive sphere of intense flames from my mouth. The fireball engulfed the beast, reducing it to ashes within seconds. The surrounding foliage remained untouched, a testament to my precise control.
I took a deep breath, steadying myself. The exertion was more taxing than expected. This world operated on different principles, and I needed to adapt quickly.
Recollections of a Past Life
Leaning against a tree, I sifted through fragmented memories of a manga I had read two decades ago in my original life—The Seven Deadly Sins. Faces and names blurred together, but one figure stood out: Escanor, the Lion's Sin of Pride. His power, Sunshine, allowed him to wield immense heat and light, growing stronger as the sun reached its zenith.
If I could find Escanor, perhaps I could gain insights into this world's energy systems and further my own abilities. Moreover, aligning with a member of the Seven Deadly Sins could provide valuable allies in this unfamiliar land.
Nature Release: Ultimate Search Technique
To locate Escanor, I devised a technique leveraging my mastery over elemental releases and the ambient nature energy. I dubbed it the Nature Release: Ultimate Search Technique.
Forming a series of intricate hand signs, I created multiple shadow clones, each attuned to a specific element—earth, water, fire, wind, and lightning. These clones dispersed in different directions, merging with their respective elements to extend my sensory reach.
The process was arduous. Unlike the chakra-rich environment of my previous world, this realm's nature energy was wild and untamed. Maintaining the connection required intense concentration, and the risk of adverse effects—petrification or mental instability—loomed over me.
As minutes stretched into hours, faint impressions began to filter back through the elemental conduits. A radiant heat, unlike any natural phenomenon, emanated from a distant location. The signature was unmistakable—it had to be Escanor.
A New Path Forward
Recalling that Escanor often resided in a tavern during his off-duty hours, I oriented myself toward the source of the heat signature. Dispelling the clones, I set off through the forest, determination fueling each step.
The journey ahead was fraught with uncertainty, but I had a clear objective. In this new world, I would adapt, grow, and forge alliances. The mistakes of my past life would not be repeated.
As the first light of dawn pierced the canopy, I couldn't help but smirk. The game was afoot, and this time, I intended to emerge victorious.
