Chapter 28 - bar 2

"Next time, you know who to rob, bastard!" Sunny said angrily as he walked away,

But what he didn't realize was that the attacker with the knife had stood up, his eyes blazing with a mix of anger and desperation.

The attacker, fueled by a desire for revenge, dashed towards Sunny, the knife glinting in the dim light. He slashed the knife towards Sunny's neck, aiming for the vulnerable spot just below the ear.

But Sunny, despite not seeing the attack coming, had instincts that had been honed from years of combat training. Instinctively, he side-stepped the attack, his body moving swiftly to the right.

The knife, however, still managed to make contact. It sliced through Sunny's shoulder, causing a searing pain to shoot through his body. Sunny's eyes widened in shock, but he didn't have time to react.

The attacker, stunned by Sunny's evasion, was momentarily frozen in place. His eyes were wide with surprise, and his mouth was agape. This gave Sunny the opening he needed.

With a swift and powerful motion, Sunny delivered a kick to the back of the attacker's neck. The attacker's eyes rolled back, and he crumpled to the ground, unconscious.

Sunny stood over him, his chest heaving with exertion. He was still trying to process what had just happened. The pain in his shoulder was starting to register, and he could feel the warmth of his own blood seeping through his clothes.

He looked down at the attacker, a mix of emotions swirling through his mind. He was angry, but he was also relieved that the attack was over. He knew he had to get out of there, and fast. The police could show up at any moment, and he didn't want to be around to answer any questions.

Getting home with his hand pressed on his cut shoulder, his sleeve wet with blood, Sunny sat heavily on the couch with a groan. The groan alerted Alex, who was reading a book in the armchair across from the couch. Alex's eyes snapped up from the book, and he quickly got up and rushed over to Sunny.

"WTF happened to you?" Alex asked, his voice filled with concern as he took in the sight of Sunny's bloody shoulder.

Sunny winced in pain, his face pale. "Get the medic kit first," he said, his voice tight with pain.

Alex quickly rushed to get the medic kit. Sunny sat on the couch, his hand still pressed on his shoulder, trying to stem the flow of blood.

Alex returned with the medic kit and opened it, revealing a variety of medical supplies. "What should I do?" Alex asked, looking at Sunny for direction.

Sunny gritted his teeth. "Give me the methylated spirit."

Alex handed over the bottle of methylated spirit. Sunny opened it and poured some of the liquid onto his wound. He almost shouted in pain as the spirit stung his wound, but he suppressed the cry, his jaw clenched.

Quickly, Alex got to work, following Sunny's directions. Sunny told him to clean the wound, apply some antibiotic ointment, and then bandage it. Alex worked efficiently, his hands moving quickly as he tried to stem the flow of blood.

Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Alex finished bandaging the wound. Sunny let out a sigh of relief, his shoulder still throbbing in pain.

Alex looked at him, his eyes filled with concern. "Are you going to tell me what happened now?" he asked, his voice soft.

Sunny leaned back on the couch, his eyes closed, trying to gather his strength. He knew he had to tell Alex what had happened, but he was still trying to process it all himself.

With a grimace, Sunny said, "Some thieves tried robbing me." He paused, wincing in pain as he shifted his weight on the couch.

Alex raised his eyebrow, wanting more information. "What happened?" he asked, his curiosity piqued.

Sunny continued, a hint of pride in his voice. "But I took them down. They didn't know your big cousin is in the military," he said with a chuckle.

Alex shook his head, a mixture of amusement and concern on his face. "Well, I did tell you that the bar was full of surprises," he said, a knowing glint in his eye.

Then Alex turned to leave, but Sunny quickly stopped him. "Pls don't tell mom, cause she'll start worrying," he said, his expression serious.

Alex turned back and gave him an understanding nod. "Don't worry, your secret is safe with me," he said with a smile.

Sunny stood up, wincing in pain as he put weight on his injured shoulder. He walked back to his room, but then he stopped mid-way and turned to Alex. "Is mom not back yet?" he asked, a hint of concern in his voice.

Alex looked at him with a knowing expression. "What do you think?" he replied, raising an eyebrow.

Sunny nodded in understanding. "She isn't," he said, a hint of resignation in his voice. "She'll be back by tomorrow though," he added as sunny walked into his room.

Getting to his room, Sunny felt restless, unsure of what to do with himself. He didn't want to walk around, fearing that his injured shoulder might throb even more. He also didn't feel like fiddling with his phone, his mind too preoccupied with the events of the evening.

He considered taking a bath, but quickly dismissed the idea. He didn't want to get his bandage wet, and he wasn't in the mood to deal with the hassle of re-dressing his wound.

Instead, Sunny decided to lay down on his bed, hoping that sleep would come quickly and wash away the fatigue and stress of the evening. He settled into a comfortable position, his mind blank as he stared up at the ceiling.

But just as he was starting to drift off to sleep, a thought crept into his mind. "I wonder if she'll find out," he thought, his mind conjuring up images of his mom discovering the scent of methylated spirit in the living room.

Sunny's eyes fluttered closed, and he let out a soft sigh. He knew that he had to be careful, that one misstep could lead to his mom finding out about the attack. But for now, he just wanted to sleep, to forget about the evening's events and wake up to a new day.

As he drifted off to sleep, Sunny's mind grew quieter, his thoughts growing more disjointed. He was vaguely aware of the sound of his own breathing, the soft creaks and groans of the house as it settled into the night. And then, everything went black.
