After the board meeting, I returned to my office to work on Calvin's requested revisions. My thoughts were interrupted by a knock on my door.
"Come in," I called, expecting Bernard to give more feedback.
Instead, Letty Alvarez, my research partner and closest friend at NovaТech, poked her head in. "Heard you survived the lion's den this morning." Her warm smile was a welcome sight after the intensity of the boardroom.
"Barely," I admitted, gesturing for her to sit. "The board liked the proposal, but Calvin wants me to be more... direct about the Henderson leadership issues."
Letty raised an eyebrow. "Direct? That doesn't sound like corporate-speak."
"It's not." I leaned back in my chair, studying her. Letty had been my ally since my first day at NovaТech. Brilliant, straightforward, and fiercely loyal. "He wants me to call out Henderson's CEO for being the chauvinist dinosaur he is."
