There was no way his luck was this bad!
The space in front of Azrael pulsed a few more times before a crack tore itself through the air and a hand burst out from it! The hand was followed by another one, and then two more hands also tore themselves forward before they all began to widen the hole and pull a figure out from within the crack.
What Azrael was seeing right now was something that only had a one-in-a-million chance of happening in the mortal plane.
The Veil that Daemons pass through is a very mysterious entity. No one knew who had put up the veil or why it had been created, but it served as a divider between the land of nothingness known as the Null Zone, and the land of the mortals. This veil could be passed through on both sides. A lot of demigods passed through it to go to the other side to fight against the daemons, and there were also a lot of daemons who would pass through it to arrive within the world of mortals.
But that doesn't mean that you would know where you were going to land when you pass through the veil. The veil was like a transporter rather than a door. When a Divine Being passes through it, the veil takes them to one of multiple areas that were labeled as Appearance Zones. These Appearance Zones were at various points in both the Null Zone and the Mortal world, and it was completely up to your fate which of the zones you would arrive at.
The Divine Enforcers had already created large defenses around the areas in the mortal plane that were labeled as Appearance Zones, which meant that whenever a daemon made its way out of the Veil and appeared at any of the Appearance Zones, there was already an army of Demigods waiting to confront them immediately!
But, every once in a while, there were instances when a daemon would appear in a region that had not been marked as an Appearance Zone. These extremely rare occurrences were known as 'Breakouts' and were normally seen as a one-time occurrence because only one or two daemons would appear from that region, and then there would be no more appearances!
When something like this happens, the Demigods would rush to create a new defense around the Appearance Zone and make sure that they quarantine the area to ensure that the daemons can't get to the residential areas. They would then kill the daemons and keep the area quarantined for a while to see if there would be any more appearances. If there aren't, then the area would be reopened to the public and things would go back to normal!
There were always lives lost and people would normally die in these situations because of how unexpected they were. You could be walking down the street and then a monster would appear through a tear in the veil without any warning at all! It was impossible to prepare for it! But people in the city never really have to worry about situations like these because they were so rare that they were nearly nonexistent!
But that did not mean that they did not happen and as Azrael watched a monster tear itself through the crack in the wall, he knew that he had just stumbled upon a breakout.

SCREEEEECHHH!!!
Azrael immediately crouched as he thought a monster was going to attack when it screeched, but the monster didn't jump at him as he stumbled its way out of the veil. The beast was an ugly-looking thing and when Azrael studied it closely, he immediately knew what it was.
It was a lesser daemon.
It had four arms and long legs, along with a muscular body and no eyes. But there was something different about this daemon. The daemons that Azrael had fought in his simulation were all about two to three meters tall, but this one looked anywhere from four to five meters tall! It had scars all over its body like it had just come from a battle, and there was blood staining its teeth when it opened its mouth.
Azrael took a few more steps back as the monster started to turn its head from side to side curiously. The monster was blind, so there was no way it knew that Azrael was there. And since Azrael's steps were silent, he didn't have to worry about the monster noticing him while he was moving back. A part of Azrael thought about turning and running.
If Azrael bolted, then there was no way the monster would be able to chase him down. The demigods were going to be here soon since the monster's appearance would've alerted them on the radar, and since the street was mostly empty, Azrael didn't have to worry about it killing anyone.
Screech~!
The monster released another quieter screech as it started to sniff around. It brought out a long black tongue and licked the ground in front of it before it started to move in erratic patterns while licking the floor for any clues.
Screech~!
It released another screech and Azrael stopped. What the hell was he doing?
There was a beast in front of him. The same beast that his school would never allow him to fight because he didn't have a God aspect. Wasn't this the perfect opportunity to test what he had gained over the past few days?
Azrael's hand tightened against his sheath as he thought about this. The demigods would be here soon, but that didn't matter to Azrael. All he had to do was make sure that he killed the beast before the demigods got here, didn't he?
Azrael nodded and he released a calm sigh as he rolled up the clothes and keycard and tossed them to the side of the road!
Thump!
The daemon immediately turned its attention towards where the noise came from and its mouth opened to reveal multiple rows of razor-sharp teeth!
SCREEEECHHHHH!!!

A lesser daemon had broken through the veil and appeared from a breakout, and the user has decided to fight the daemon.
Defeat the daemon and claim its head to complete the quest.

Azrael immediately felt the passive effects of [Battle Sense] kicking in as all of his stats received a massive boost! Azrael felt stronger, faster, and even more agile than before! It was like suddenly getting a shot of adrenaline straight into your heart!
The monster spread its arms wide as it tried to grab hold of whatever it was that made the noise, and with how wide its arm span was, it would have easily grabbed hold of Azrael if it got close enough. But Azrael was able to easily roll to the side before the monster caught him.
BOOM!
The monster's charge broke off a large portion of the road and the laundry truck behind them shook from the force! The monster screeched as it turned around to try and find Azrael by sound, but Azrael's footsteps were perfectly quiet so it couldn't pick up anything until Azrael stepped on some rocks and broke them under his feet!
SCREECH!
The monster screeched and charged again!
