Chapter 37 - CHAPTER THIRTY SEVEN; Mystery slayer

In the chambers, Arya gazed at Lord nigel and said, "You know, since we've been together, we've never really gone out alonr. Places like, festivals, ceremonies..."

Lord nigel's expression turned thoughtful. "Where would you like us to go?"

Arya's face lit up. "Aurora mentioned a festival coming up. Perhaps we could attend?"

But Lord nigel's enthusiasm was dampened. "A festival? In the open? I'm not sure that's a good idea."

Arya teased him playfully. "Don't be boring!"

Meanwhile, Aurora and Orion had arrived at the cloth market in their carriage. As they stepped out, Aurora eagerly began browsing the stalls.

She turned to Orion and said, "Why don't you come and help me pick out some things?"

Orion shrugged. "You seem to be forgetting that I was only told to accompany you, not to help you shop."

Aurora muttered under her breath, "jerk!

" I heard that!

Aurora finished shopping and stepped out of the store, but she couldn't find Orion anywhere. She checked the carriage, but he wasn't there either. "Where could he be?" she wondered.

Realizing she couldn't leave without him, Aurora decided to search for Orion. She left her shopping bags with the carriage driver and set off to find her brother.

As she walked, the streets became increasingly deserted. Aurora started to feel scared and tried to turn back, but that's when she noticed someone following her.

The stranger approached her, making lewd comments and asking to touch her hair and face. Aurora tried to scream, but more men emerged from the shadows.

One of them suggested selling her to a king, while another proposed taking advantage of her before doing so. Aurora's eyes widened in terror.

Just as the men were about to drag her away, one of them fell to the ground, dead. Orion stood behind him, pocket knife in his hands and blood dripping from it.

With swift, precise motions, Orion took down the remaining men, giving them deep slashes. "You are welcome!" Orion said as if he did them a favour.

Aurora walked away, her back to Orion. He followed behind her, saying, "At least you should say thank you."

Aurora spun around, her eyes flashing with anger. "Thank you? You want me to thank you? This is all your fault! If you had stayed with me, I wouldn't have had to come looking for you, and those men wouldn't have attacked me."

Orion's expression turned defensive, but he remained silent, knowing his sister had a point.

Orion's silence hid the truth: he had been distracted by something that caught his attention, and he had hurried off to investigate. When he returned, the carriage driver informed him that Aurora was searching for him. Orion quickly went to look for her, and that's when he found her in the midst of the harrowing encounter.

As Orion left the store when Aurora was shopping, he overheard some men discussing a sinister plan to sell the girls they kindnap to a notorious king. Their conversation ignited a fire within him.

Orion's eyes narrowed as he pieced together the sinister plan. The men intended to meet at the designated location to sell the kidnapped girls to a notorious king infamous for exploiting and abusing young women.

As soon as they arrived home, the guards welcomed them warmly. Aurora and Orion entered the house, and Aurora eagerly showed her mother the clothes she had bought. Her mother admired the beautiful garments, and they spent the evening chatting and laughing together.

As the night fell, the household settled into a peaceful routine, marking the end of a eventful day.

****************

Orion emerged from the bathroom, his eyes gleaming with a fierce intensity reminiscent of his father's. Despite being only 18 years old, with his 19th birthday just five months away, Orion exuded a sense of quiet confidence.

He slipped into his black overall coat, which added to his enigmatic aura. Black was his favorite color, a trait he shared with his father.

Orion equipped himself with his trusty bows and arrows, carefully checking each arrowhead. Unbeknownst to others, he had a secret purpose for these arrows - not just for hunting, but for taking down evil-doers.

Orion noticed the guards stationed outside his room, as usual. He discreetly opened the door and slipped out a sleeping draught, which quickly took effect on the guards. As they crumpled to the ground, Orion slipped out of his room and into the hallway.

As Orion slipped out of the hallway, he unexpectedly encountered his grandmother, Theresa. In his haste to conceal himself, he knocked over an object, causing a loud clatter.

"Who's there?" Theresa asked, spinning around.

Orion darted behind a nearby table, holding his breath. Theresa's eyes scanned the area, but she didn't seem to notice him.

As soon as Theresa hastened past him, Orion seized the opportunity to make a swift escape. With an uncanny ability to evade detection, he slipped away unnoticed, leaving behind only the faintest whisper of his presence. It was as if only heaven itself knew the secret of his stealthy departure.

Orion sprinted through the chilly night air, his feet pounding the ground as he hastened towards the location where he had earlier overheard the sinister plans.

As he arrived, fortune was on his side - the men were indeed there, and a group of frightened girls were being forcibly loaded into a carriage, their cries and pleas for help muffled by the darkness.
