Character

This chapter contains information about the main character.

You will find pictures of him at different moments of his life and information about his talents, likes and dislikes.

PLEASE DO NOT COMMENT IN THE PARAGRAPHS THAT CONTAIN THE PICTURES

Otherwise the pictures will be drowned in the sea of comments (if this book becomes famous one day). Then no one will find the pictures anymore, the new readers will be sad, they won't give this a chance to this story and this book will fall into obscurity, which will make ME fall into insanity.

And what happens when an author becomes insane ? Ask Adam (Yes, the visionary from LOTM) ! Or be prepared for cliffhangers. Lots of cliffhangers.

Anyways, here we go, comment anywhere you want, except in the paragraphs with pictures.

(Not that there is any picture in the comments for the moment anyway...)

Main Character : Arthur POLARIS

Picture at 15 years old (in comments)

Picture at 20 years old (in comments)

Personality and details :

He is a really curious man that wants to be free to roam the world without risk or being disturbed by anyone, as well as a perfectionist and a hoarder of anything and everything (that might be useful one day, even if that day is in a millennia, you never know, okay ?!).

Yet he carefully controls his adventurous spirit for he is someone who needs dozens of backup plans in case something happens, forcing him to prepare as much as possible before doing anything, especially before going out in the wild.

He doesn't understand people, they all look contradictory in his eyes. If there is one thing that he avoids like the plague, it's all that is boring or bothersome and in his eyes, social interactions are both at the same time. He only tolerates his family, silent bookworms and those he highly respects, that is, those who know more, no matter the topic, especially if they don't mind sharing their knowledge.

He has a really sweet tooth (Like a certain old and manipulative grandpa), and is a bird brain that forgets most faces and everything that happens in his life... yet he can remember a book word for word (selective memory, further enhanced by Occlumency). He has an ungodly sense of direction, a literal Zoro from One piece that will get lost as soon as he puts a foot outside his home (slightly exaggerated, but not that much).

He gets mischievous when he is too bored, either because he is in overdose of books (if he reads too much for a loooong period of time) or because he doesn't have any interesting reading material (all things should be balanced as they say, he needs a minimum of reading material, but not too much...picky, this one...).

When that happens, he starts causing mayhem and observing the chaos to relieve his boredom. He sometimes has Amon-like tendencies, and theoretically, enough boredom could force him to unleash a "monocle plague" upon the world, "just for fun...🧐"

Talents :

(These value are just here to give you an idea of what he is good at, they are not absolute, the name of each category won't be used again, these value won't be used again, you don't need to learn them by heart like they are some cultivation ranks or something to understand the story)

0 = Troll

1-2 = Dreadful

3-4 = Below Average

5 = Average

6-7 = Above Average

8-9 = Prodigy

10 = Once in a century genius

- Elemental Magic lvl 10 (Loved by Water/Wind/Time)

- Elemental Magic lvl 1 (Hated by Fire and Space)

He is naturally attuned to some specific elements, but hated by some others, he has a perfectly average affinity with any other element not mentioned above, more information about the consequences of a positive or negative affinity are mentionned in the story.

- Languages lvl 9

He has a natural inclination toward learning languages, and will easily master them. "Languages" includes mundane languages and magical languages such as Parseltongue and ancient runes.

- Mind Arts lvl 9

He is a natural Occlumens, his mind is naturally shielded from mental probes and intrusions. He will have an easier time learning the mind arts. He will still need to practice to keep the most determined or more experienced intruders out of his mind.

- Transfiguration lvl 8

He will grasp the intricacies of changing one thing to another more easily, that includes himself (self-transfiguration/animagus), items (inanimate to (in)animate transfiguration), living beings (animate to (in)animate transfiguration) and the environment (battle transfiguration).

- Science lvl 8

He is naturally methodical and curious, he will have an easier time grasping scientific concepts (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Paths and Arithmancy(Magical Maths)).

- Charms & Spell creation lvl 7

He is pretty skilled at spell casting as long as emotions are not involved in the spellcasting, he is also quite skilled at theorizing and creating new spells.

- Potions lvl 6

He generally understands how ingredients react with each other and more often than not manages to successfully brew potions.

- Physique lvl 5

His body is average and perfectly normal, with no genetic diseases or bloodline curses.

- Dark Arts lvl 4

He generally struggles to cast spells with an emotional component, including the Patronus. He doesn't like to inflict pain or permanent damage to his targets but can do it if he needs to, reducing the strength of his darker spells if they are not aimed to kill his opponent(s).

- Botany lvl 4

He loves plants ... but plants don't like him much, they don't outright hate him but they also won't make his life easier. Except biting cabbages. Biting cabbages love him, even a bit too much for his tastes...

- Zoology lvl 3

Animals prefer to keep a certain distance from him. It absolutely doesn't have anything to do with how many animals he dissected in his past life. Nor does it have anything to do with his habit of hoarding anything he thinks might be useful for the future, which generally means that an animal will lose some parts...

- Society (History/Politics/Psychology) lvl 2

He sucks at social interactions, and avoids them like the plague. He doesn't understand why people act as they do, which makes him question everything that happened in history. The only part of history that interests him is the bibliographies of people of the past. After all it's easier to "borrow" all the research and worldly possessions of someone (preferably dead) you have extensively studied (to know where to search for a tomb and what traps await you).

- Abstract (Astronomy/Divination) lvl 0

He draws "Death" every time he touches a Tarot card deck, finds a grimm in his teacup whenever he drinks tea and the stars dim to the point of becoming invisible every time he looks in a telescope. Not that he will ever believe that divination is anything other than a scam anyway, not with his affinity for time magic, and he rarely cares about the position of the stars in the sky.
