Yves woke up; he felt himself sitting in a hard chair.
Yves opened his eyes and saw himself again being interrogated, with his hands and legs being chained.
"Yves, so what did you do to kill a D-rank? Didn't you tell me that you had no abilities?" The masked man's tone became more serious than the last time.
Don't tell them anything.
Yves heard a voice inside of his head. He immediately knew that it was Ink.
"I don't know exactly; I was just attacked, and I just extended my hands, and I passed out. I truly don't know what happened."
"Florian, come here." The masked man ordered the man in the shadows to appear.
"Yes," Florian appears in his real face.
"Florian, tell me what you saw."
"As you wish. What I saw was that Yves was stabbed by Spear-Finger and was bleeding profusely…"
"So then why didn't you stop her!!" Yves screamed.
"Don't interrupt me. Now let me continue. After he was bleeding, I suddenly saw a small galaxy of purple light, and Yves woke up with no injuries. The thing that caught me by surprise was him screaming 'Ink,' then the events happened as he said." Florian stood beside the masked man.
"So Yves, what is 'Ink' and how are you alive?"
"That is not important; what is important is why you were spying on me. I won't respond unless you respond to these two questions. First, what are you going to do to me, depending on my answer? Second, what were you doing? Yves's tone changed to a more serious and threatening tone.
"Very well. Let me answer both of them. The masked man responded.
"Wait? For real?" Yves was dumbfounded.
"Yes. Now for the first question. If you answer that you do have a mythological creature, you will join a training center. Well for you it's more like an academy, but you won't do much learning; instead, you will learn about how to control your creature and go on missions and obtain higher rank beings."
"If you don't have a mythological being, then you will be able to apply to get one as you show potential."
"Ok, and the second question?" Yves's tone became calmer.
"We believed that you had a mythological being the day we first interrogated you. I won't go into much detail, but we wanted to check if it was true."
"Is that all? This still feels too suspicious."
"Yes, now respond to my question."
"Ok, so I don't know exactly, but I do have the ability to create a spear, but it drained so much of my strength that it caused me to pass out. I don't know what rank it is, but if I were to guess, it's probably a D to C rank."
"Florian, untie him as he will be joining us."
Florian walks behind Yves and, in a second, unties him.
Yves moves his hands and legs freely now, much calmer about the entire situation.
"So I will be joining you?"
"Yes, you will. We will examine your rank before you enter to test out what you control and where your potential lies."
"Are there like rich people and like people who think highly of themselves due to their money?" Yves' face became more sadistic.
"I mean, yes, there are rich people, but they are like us due to it not being easy to control a mythological being. All I will say is that there are people with the potential to change the world."
"For real!!" This is a perfect time to have good teammates.
"Yes, but you need to remember that we are one of ten different places all over the continent, so there might be even stronger people in the other zones. And there are ten continents with their people that we don't know, so they might be weaker, stronger, hostile, or friendly."
"Will I ever have a chance to interact with people from other continents?" Yves started rubbing his hands like a fly.
"Maybe, but we haven't due to our focus on rebuilding and creating stronger people to fight and clean our continent."
"Do you at least know what resides in those continents? I have read the book, and there was no mention of them."
"I don't know who and what beings live there, but I can tell you what the most well-known in each continent is if that is what you would like."
"Yes, I still don't know the continents."
The masked man waved his hand, and one of the people on the right side of Yves walked up behind the masked man and created a board showing one continent at a time.
"Wow, what is your mythological being?" Yves was surprised to see such an image resembling an illusion.
The man looked at the masked man only for the masked man to nod.
"My name is Robin, and I control the specter moose, a C-rank being."
"Very nice now, what is the continent you are showing in the image?" Yves asked
"This is the continent of Zur. It resembles the old continent of South America. The strong being that we know is the Camazotz."
Robin creates an image of the Camazotz, a large, terrifying bat with many artifacts in its body.
"What rank is he?" Yves, with hints of fear, asks Robin.
"We don't know, but he might be either a continental or world threat. We know this, as this is the only thing that a traveler told us."
Yves felt a shiver go down his spine. He knows that if this being appears, everyone is in danger and that there is no way a monster that terrifying is only that terrifying. He is imagining the most terrifying-looking bat monsters.
"What about the other continents? I want to know more about them."
"You will learn this once you join the training center, but remember this is very limited knowledge, so some of the things we say are false or very close to the truth." The masked man extended his hand to Yves.
Robin closed his illusion and went back to his original spot.
Yves watched and shook the masked man's hand.
The masked man took off his mask and smiled at Yves.
"My name is Federico; now go and bring change to this world."
"I will try my best."
Yves left the room with Adam.
"Sir, do you believe in that kid?" Florian appeared again.
"Not really, but it is better to make him think that we are on his side so that he won't betray us if he finds a stronger support group. I mean, he has potential, but let's not get too excited. There are kids younger than him with even more potential who are the real ones to bring change. All I need you to do is to try and find out who is contracted with and see if we can use him for our own goals."
"As you wish."
