Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Uncle!

The assistant shook his head. "CEO Ashford, I think I know what you want to know. This is also what I want to report to you. The Vale family has returned all the new projects they received in the past two days."

"Something's wrong. Have you found out the reason?" The Vale family had returned the projects. Riven Ashford had not expected this at all.

The assistant said, "The Vale family didn't provide an explanation to the public. I had people secretly contact the source of the raw materials, but Chairman Vale rejected them all."

Riven Ashford was completely unable to figure out what the Vale family's intentions were. Just as he was racking his brain, Rhea Vale called.

Riven Ashford actually did not know that this number was Rhea Vale's. It was only after he subconsciously picked up the call and heard the malicious "Uncle" that he recognized her voice.

"Rhea Vale!" Riven Ashford was a little angry when he heard this form of address.

"It's me, uncle. Your father wants you to go home. He said that he has something important to tell you." Since he had already revealed his "true colors," it would be a little hypocritical for him to take it back now. Rhea Vale gave Riven Ashford an affectionate form of address—uncle.

From his tone, it was clear that he did not like this form of address very much.

Riven Ashford held onto his phone and suppressed his anger. "Rhea Vale, try calling me 'Uncle' again!"

"Uncle." Rhea Vale was in a good mood and immediately called him that.

"Now you're starting to listen to me." Riven Ashford gritted his teeth and enunciated every word.

"Uncle, uncle, why are you angry that I called you 'Uncle'? Come back if you can!" Rhea Vale's mood was very good. She enjoyed the fact that Riven Ashford disliked her but he could not do anything to her.

Riven Ashford's Adam's apple bobbed. 'Hmph, this woman is really devious.' She was trying to goad him into going home. He refused to return.

...

Riven Ashford hung up the phone. Not long after, Rhea Vale called again. "Tell me, what are you angry about?! I'm not angry that you called me short! But, you're angry that I called you uncle. You're such a man and you're still so narrow-minded. You won't lose out if I call you uncle, right, uncle? Hello? Riven Ashford..."

He hung up the phone again. Rhea Vale looked at the phone screen and muttered to herself, "Ugh! No way, no way. This man is really narrow-minded. So what if I call you uncle? I'll continue to call. I'll anger you to death."

Next, Rhea Vale began making a series of angry calls. Riven Ashford hung up immediately. If she called again, no one would pick up. She continued to call, but he was in the middle of another call.

Rhea Vale said, "D*mn, he's blacklisting me." After realizing this, she went downstairs and picked up the landline to call Riven Ashford.

At this moment, Riven Ashford was about to have a meeting when he saw that home was calling. He picked it up and put it to his ear, but the voice on the other end of the phone was that familiar voice that provoked him. "Uncle, your father wants you to come back for something very important. Come back quickly, uncle..."

"Beep, beep, beep..." He hung up again.

Not long after, Riven Ashford's phone rang again. Riven Ashford took a glance and picked it up immediately. "Rhea Vale, are you courting death!"

"Riven Ashford, why are you talking to your wife like that?" Old Master Ashford's voice rang out. He had just come downstairs and saw his daughter-in-law, who had just entered the house. She was using the living room phone to make a call, and when he went up to ask, he found out that Rhea Vale was calling Riven Ashford. She was doing it for his sake.

Rhea Vale said, "Dad, I heard that you had something to talk to Riven about, so I wanted him to come back."

Old Master Ashford's gaze swept over Rhea Vale's innocent eyes, and he liked her a little more. He indeed had something to say to Riven Ashford. Thus, Old Master Ashford took the initiative to call Riven Ashford himself. He did not expect to hear Riven Ashford's furious tirade as soon as he picked up the call.

Thinking of Kristy Cole's attempt at provocation, Old Master Ashford became furious. "Riven Ashford, you have half an hour to come back and apologize to Rhea!"

Old Master Ashford's loud scolding scared Rhea Vale, and she instinctively took a few steps back. She could not help but be curious. 'What exactly did "Uncle" say to make Old Master Ashford act this way?'

She did not know what was said on the other end of the phone, but she saw Old Master Ashford angrily hang up the phone. He said to his daughter-in-law, who was trembling with fear, "Rhea, don't worry. When Riven comes back, I'll ask him to apologize to you!"

"Dad, there's no need," Rhea Vale shook her head and said in a neither servile nor overbearing manner.

Within half an hour, Riven Ashford had indeed come home. The moment he entered the door, he saw Rhea Vale, who was hiding behind Old Master Ashford. At this moment, through his eyes, it seemed like this woman was deliberately acting pitiful in front of his father.
