Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: I’m Begging You

It was not that Rhea Vale could not hear the sarcasm Bella Evans was putting forth. She just did not want to waste everyone's time at the dining table. She did not want to argue with a person who did not have a proper outlook on life. However, Bella had actually used her surname in her insinuations. Rhea could not tolerate it anymore.

Rhea had no patience for these remarks. She took a deep breath and shook her head. She said, "Sister-in-law, your words are really unpleasant. Ugh, you're clearly a human being. Why do you want to be a dog of the Watson Family? If you feel that it's glorious, then go ahead. Our entire family will be happy to have a beast that understands human nature."

Bella was so angry that she could not take it anymore. She stood up and pointed at Rhea. "You, you're disobedient. Are you courting death?"

Bella had been slandering her with insinuations. Rhea was being direct and unbearable.

Riven Ashford was shocked by Rhea's words. This girl was not afraid of anything, and she dared to say anything. She dared to insult Bella. She had called her a beast in front of the family.

Moreover, Travis Ashford was sitting next to Bella. When everyone heard her words, their expressions turned ugly.

Rhea's words were indeed unpleasant, but Travis was not deaf. This argument had been instigated by Bella. "Sit down, sit down. We're all a family. What's this noise about?" Travis did not say much but was putting on a show.

Logically speaking, Riven should have said something at this time. If he stepped up to teach Rhea a lesson, this matter would be over. However, he did not seem to want to say anything. He deliberately stayed silent. He wanted to see how Rhea would resolve this matter.

Bella flew into a rage out of humiliation. She glanced at the basin beside her and planned to splash the water on Rhea. However, Rhea had already guessed what she was going to do when she approached the basin.

Rhea stood up, picked up the basin, and splashed the water on Bella.

The water accidentally hit Travis, who was beside her. Rhea bowed politely. "I'm sorry, big brother. I accidentally splashed you."

Travis was at a loss for words.

Riven was speechless as well.

The two brothers were equally shocked at this moment.

"Ah! You b*tch, how dare you splash me!" Bella said angrily, soaking wet.

"I only predicted your prediction. You and I are both young madams of the Ashford Family. I'm younger than you, but my status is not lower than yours," Rhea said calmly. Then, she went back to her seat.

Old Master Ashford walked in with the butler. As soon as he entered the restaurant, he took note of the unusual atmosphere. As he walked closer, he realized that things were not as simple as they seemed.

Rhea waited for Bella to complain, but she did not say anything. In any case, she was not the one in the wrong. Bella had provoked her first.

Bella only shouted in exasperation and quickly left the restaurant.

"What happened?" Old Master Ashford asked.

Rhea said, "Sister-in-law likened herself to a beast of the Watson Family. I saw that she was a little confused about her position, so I helped her clear her head. She might have gone back on her word just now."

Travis glanced at Rhea, then stood up and said, "Dad, I'm going to go follow Bella." He could not say anything at the moment.

"Is what Rhea said true?" Old Master Ashford asked before Travis could leave.

Travis did not answer and left the restaurant directly. Riven's gaze never left Rhea. He thought to himself, 'It seems that you still have the ability to lie and remain calm.'

"That's how it went," Rhea said to Old Master Ashford.

Riven then stood up and left without saying a word. He did not need to give a reason for his departure.

Rhea realized that she and Old Master Ashford were the only ones left at the dining table, so she stood up as well. "Dad, I'm going to look for my husband."

After saying that, Rhea followed behind Riven obediently.

The two of them walked out of the door one after the other and went outside. A warm breeze blew past, blowing Rhea's hair into her face. The wind blew her skirt up as well. Then, the hem of her skirt slowly drifted down again.

The man in a suit in front of them stopped when he sensed someone behind him. Rhea also stopped.

"Why are you following me?" Riven turned around and asked.

"Riven Ashford, let's move out! Didn't you promise me before?" Rhea's eyes were sincere, and her mood was not good. "Do you see what happened today? If I stay at your house any longer, your family will be angry or hospitalized."

Seeing that Riven did not answer, Rhea asked with pleading eyes, "I'm begging you, okay?"
