Chapter 1 - New Beginning in a new life

Ever wonder how the strongest god came to be? Let me take you back to a time when he was nothing but a child weak, powerless, and full of fear. Surprised? You should be. But let's not get ahead of ourselves.

To understand how Allen West became the god he is today, we have to start at the beginning. And that beginning? It starts with a name Allen West.

At seven years old, Allen wasn't a god. He was just a kid, and he wasn't alone. His younger brother, James, was by his side. They were the only survivors of a village wiped out by a monstrous wave of destruction. Their parents had hidden them in a secret basement, hoping it would be enough to keep them safe.

When the brothers finally emerged, the world around them was unrecognizable. Their village lay in ruins. And then they saw it their parents, cold and lifeless. Allen's breath caught in his chest. His voice trembled as he whispered, "Mom... Dad... I'm sorry. I couldn't protect you. If only I'd been stronger… maybe you'd still be here. Maybe we could've stopped this."

Tears blurred his vision, but before he could speak again, James threw his arms around him, holding him tight. The two of them wept, not just for their parents, but for the world they'd lost.

Hours passed. And when the sun began to set, Allen pulled back. His voice was raw but firm. "We'll get stronger," he said. "We'll never lose anyone again. But to do that, we have to train. We have to travel. Together. What do you say, James? We're kids now, but if we stick together, we'll get stronger."

James nodded, determination settling in his eyes. Without another word, they jumped in the air, slapping hands in a silent vow. The promise was made.

After a moment, Allen turned to the task at hand. "Before we leave," he said quietly, "let's make sure they get a proper goodbye."

The brothers spent the entire day digging graves. It wasn't easy their small hands were clumsy with the shovel, their bodies exhausted from the grief. But they worked in silence, each scoop of earth a way to honor the people they had lost.

By nightfall, they realized they had nearly eaten all the food they'd scavenged some bread, two swords, and enough rope to make a makeshift bag. It wasn't much, but it would have to do.

As they huddled together for warmth, their bellies empty but their hearts full, they both knew this was only the beginning.

The next day, they set off on their journey, walking down the path leading away from the only home they had ever known. Their hearts were heavy with uncertainty, but the world beyond was calling them, full of unknowns.

"What do you think we'll find out there?" Allen asked, his voice filled with curiosity.

James looked up at the sky, trying to remember the stories their father had told. "I don't know... But I heard about a capital a big city that's the heart of a kingdom. Maybe we'll find something there."

They walked in silence for a while, letting the idea of the capital settle in their minds. But then Allen stopped, his face pale.

"James," he said, voice shaking. "What if we run into the monsters? We haven't even used these swords before. What should we do?"

James grabbed his brother's hands, meeting his eyes with a look of quiet determination. "We train now. We have the swords. Why not start there?"

Allen nodded, though his hands were still trembling. They pulled the swords from their makeshift packs, struggling to lift them. They were too big for their small bodies, the weight almost unbearable.

"I think lifting these is a workout in itself," Allen muttered, sweating.

James grinned. "Then let's practice with sticks."

They found some branches, and the two brothers began swinging them at each other. Their strikes were clumsy, and the sticks broke with the first solid contact.

"Well, there goes that," Allen said with a dry chuckle. "Looks like we're camping here tonight."

James sighed, looking around. "How are we even going to camp? We've got nothing but clothes, swords, and bags."

Allen scratched his head. "We'll figure it out. I saw Dad make fire once he used a stick and wood shavings. Let's try that."

The night was growing darker, and the woods seemed to stretch on forever. The sounds of creatures moving in the distance made their skin crawl, but they pressed on, gathering wood. Allen rubbed the stick between his hands, the friction starting to spark.

"James, look!" Allen's face lit up as a small flame flickered to life in the wood shavings.

James stared, wide eyed, then jumped to his feet. "You did it! We really did it!"

They danced around the fire, laughing and cheering as the first real light of the night bathed them in warmth.

For the first time in hours, they felt hope not just for survival, but for the future ahead.

In the middle of the night, as they were sleeping, something watched them from the bushes its gaze like a predator's, looking at prey. Allen woke, sensing something wrong. He shook his brother James awake and asked, "Hey, do you feel something watching us?"

James felt a shiver down his spine, his instincts screaming. "Allen, I think we should be back-to-back. Grab the swords, just in case."

The brothers grabbed the swords, standing back to back, shaking with adrenaline. It made it easier to hold the swords, but they were anxious, looking all around for whatever was watching them.

Then suddenly, a wolf leapt from the bushes, drooling and growling in a fighter's stance. The brothers were nervous; this would be their first fight. The wolf charged at James. When it got close, James slammed the sword down, but the wolf jumped to the side, dodging it. As it leaped, Allen appeared and swung his sword down, striking the wolf, but it wasn't strong enough to hurt it only to annoy it.

The monster lunged at James. Allen shouted, "NO!" and began to glow with a purple aura as a beam of light shot into the air like a beacon. Standing in front of James, hands outstretched, Allen braced for the worst. He opened his eyes to see a fried wolf, its fur smoldering, and burn marks on a nearby tree.

Allen looked back and saw that James was fine. He smiled, feeling relief flood him before passing out.

When Allen woke up, he found James watching him, tears in his eyes. "Allen!" James screamed, hugging his brother tightly. "You're alive! I thought I lost you!"

James was crying and shaking. Allen hugged him back, his voice steady despite the tears in his own eyes. "I'm not going anywhere. Don't worry."

They gathered their things and put out the fire, deciding to walk the rest of the night along the path.

"Hey, Allen," James asked, breaking the silence. "What was that back there? You… you glowed purple."

Allen paused, glancing at his brother. "I don't know. It feels like something inside me awoke, but I don't understand it. We'll probably learn more about it on our travels."

As the brothers walked and talked, daybreak came. By midday, they reached a point where they could see the capital in the distance. Their faces lit up with excitement.

"I'll race you to the capital!" Allen grinned, eager.

"Your on! Don't cry when I beat you!" James challenged, his competitive spirit alive.

The brothers laughed, running toward the city, their legs burning with the effort. When they finally stopped, gasping for air, Allen managed a chuckle. "Looks like a draw."

James grinned. "I'll win next time."

As they caught their breath, they noticed a long line in front of a large gate, with guards stationed outside, checking IDs. The brothers didn't know what it was, so they waited until it was their turn.

The guard at the post looked down at them, confused. "What are you two doing here without a parent or guardian?"

Allen's smile faded. He stood tall, though his voice was quiet. "We lost our parents in a monster attack. We don't have any parents or guardian anymore."

The guard was shocked, seeing the pain on their faces. He sighed deeply. "I'll have one of my subordinates take you boys to a church. They'll look after you there."

He glanced at his coworker, who nodded, and the other guard stepped forward, leading them to the church. Along the way, the guard asked, "How did you boys make it this far all alone?"

Allen explained everything. When he finished, the guard stopped in his tracks, his expression serious. "Wait a minute… what I'm hearing is true, isn't it?"

Allen and James both nodded in unison. The guard whistled. "Well, I'll be damned. You might be a mage, kid."

Allen's brow furrowed. "What's a mage?"

The guard didn't answer immediately. "Let's make a quick stop at the guild and check out your mana."

"I'm not sure what any of that means, but okay," Allen replied, confused but willing to go along.

When they arrived at the guild, everything went silent. People turned to stare as they walked through the door. The guard approached the front desk, and the woman there smiled. "What can I do for you today?"

The guard nodded toward Allen. "Check if this kid has mana."

The desk clerk's eyes widened in surprise. "A kid this young with mana?" She pulled out a glowing orb. "Alright, I'll check, but I'll be surprised if he even has any."

Allen hesitated, then placed his hand on the orb as instructed, closing his eyes. To his shock, a small star of purple light appeared on the orb.

Gasps filled the room. "He has mana! This kid… a prodigy!" people whispered in awe.

Allen stood frozen, unsure of what to think. He just smiled awkwardly, but his brother quickly stepped in, holding his fist out. The two fist-bumped, a silent moment of shared joy.

The guard led them to the church, where they met with a nun. After hearing their story, she knelt down to their level, looking at them with gentle eyes. "You poor children," she said softly. "It must have been hard, seeing everything and being on your own. We'll take good care of you here. We'll make sure nothing happens to you."

Tears welled up in both brothers' eyes, and they nodded, grateful. "Thank you," they said in unison, their voices trembling.
