Chapter 13 - Kill the enemy

Myora glances at the military base, her sharp eyes analyzing every detail. She rummages through the backpack, pulling out a rope as she issues commands.

"I'll kill the guy on the left side of the wall. Hao and Annie, you'll rush and jump over the wall before they notice you. Take the car and drive out of the camp, leading as many as you can away. That's when me and Erley will enter through the right side."

She pauses, holding the rope in her hand.

"Moen, you'll enter through the back. Break through or jump over—I don't care. Your job is to find the highest-ranking officer and stall him as long as you can."

Moen tilts his head, confused.

"How am i supposed to find him?"

Myora glances at him.

"Just look for someone that looks out of place."

Erley stares at the military base in the distance, his expression tense. Myora's voice cuts through his thoughts.

"We don't need any preparations. Let's go."

Erley closes his eyes, letting out a long sigh. He turns and follows Myora down the stairs, the group moving as one.

***

The group hides behind a ruined wall, waiting for the lookouts to get distracted. The moment the guards switch positions, they spring into action.

Hao, Annie, and Moen head to the left side of the base, while Myora and Erley rush the right.

Hao picks up a rock and hurls it at one of the lookouts. The rock strikes the guard's face, and he collapses. Before the camp can react, Hao and Annie leap over the wall, while Moen continues toward the back.

Annie's heart races as soldiers turn toward them, raising their weapons. Beams ring out, but they miss.

They reach a military transport car and climb in. Hao fumbles with the controls, pressing buttons frantically.

"How the hell does this thing work?!"

Annie stares at him, panic in her eyes.

"You don't know how to drive this?!"

Hao grins nervously.

"Not really, i thought my body would remember, but i guess i never knew how to drive in the first place."

Annie's voice rises.

"JUST PRESS EVERY BUTTON!"

Hao does as she says, and the engine sputters before catching fire.

"Uh..."

They both freeze for a second, then scramble out of the car just as it explodes behind them. The force sends them tumbling to the ground.

Hao yells.

"WHY THE HELL IS THERE A SELF DESTRUCT BUTTON!"

***

The sergeant scrambles as screams echo from multiple directions.

'Multiple enemies.'

A loud crash comes from behind the interrogation building.

'Shit'

He rushes behind to find the iron wall shattered. In the middle of the wreckage stands Moen, leaning heavily on his shield.

Moen mutters, looking up to see the red-haired sergeant glaring at him.

"Finally made it through..."

Moen asks, clueless.

"Uh, hello? why are you looking at me like that?"

The sergeant's face contorts with rage. He charges at Moen, his fists clenched

***

On the other side of the base, Myora and Erley cut through the chaos like a storm. Soldiers fall before them, their weapons useless against the duo's relentless advance.

Myora orders, her voice cold and commanding.

"Don't stop"

Erley nods, his movements precise as he cuts down through a group of soldiers.

"Understood."

They carve a path through the different soldier groups, their coordination flawless. Myora's voice cuts through the noise.

"Almost there"

Cutting the last few scattered soldiers. They reach a row of small, reinforced concrete buildings. Myora points to the farthest one.

"Search all of them. I'll start from the left. You take the one by the tower."

Erley nods and sprints toward the tower, while Myora heads to the building on the left.

Close to those tents was Hao and Annie. Who were still wreaking havoc among the few soldiers left. Ignoring them. Myora enters the large, square building, her eyes scanning the reception area and the hallways stretching in both directions.

'Shit, this is going to take a while.'

She moves quickly, checking each room with methodical precision.

***

Erley bursts into the tower, forcing the door open and dashing up the stairs. At the top, he finds a room filled with strange technology—a panel covered in circuits, dials, and screens.

Suddenly, he hears a faint noise from a nearby locker.

'Someone's here'

He approaches the locker, his grip tightening on his sword. Just as he's about to thrust the blade through the locker, a voice cries out.

"Wait!"

A man tumbles out of the locker, falling to his knees at Erley's dirty shoes.

Erley stares down as the main cries.

"Please, spare me! i beg you. My family is waiting for me back home. Please..."

Erley stares down at the man, his face unreadable.

Without a word, he thrusts his sword through the soldier's chest.

He pulls the blade free and runs out of the tower, his footsteps heavy as he heads back to the group. The sword dripping from the blood of the poor soldier.

***

Myora breaks through a wall, jumping down from the massive building.

'No point on searching that building, i need to move.'

She rushes through the remaining buildings and tents, her movements swift and deliberate.

A couple minutes pass by. Entering a dark room she sees a soldier pointing a gun at her.

"Stop right there!"

Myora ignores him, stepping closer. The soldier fires, the laser grazing her shoulder.

"I SAID STAY BACK!"

She brushes off the burn and walks past him, entering the interrogation room. Inside, she finds Selth, battered and barely conscious.

She kneels beside him, stretching out her hand.

"Even now, you don't smile, huh?"

Selth looks up, his eyes barely focusing on her. Myora helps him to his feet, supporting his weight as they leave the room. The soldier watches them go, collapsing to the floor in shock. Mumbling the same words over and over.

"Everyone... Is dead..."

***

Outside, Erley waits, his expression blank as he sees Selth's condition.

"Welcome back, little one. I'll take you to Hao and Annie so you can recover."

He puts his arm around Selth, supporting him as they move slowly toward the others.

Myora rushes past the interrogation building, the sound of fighting growing louder.

The sergeant screams, delivering another brutal punch to Moen.

"RAAAAH!"

Hitting Moen in the face. Moen is sent back flying back towards the broken wall. His shield was battered all over.

Moen stands up once again, his clothes all destroyed from all the hits. His determination unwavering.

The sergeant roars.

"JUST DIE ALREADY!"

Suddenly, Myora's voice cuts through the chaos.

"ENOUGH MOEN."

Moen freezes, then collapses to the ground, his shield clattering beside him.

The sergeant turns, his eyes locking onto Myora as it distorts into a scary angry face. He sneers

"I can feel your bloodlust from all the way here. You really are scary."

Not a single word escapes Myora's mouth.

Her eyes narrow, and she charges at him, her sword gleaming in the dim light.
