"What do you know? This is called sentiment!" Lauren teased as she glanced at Bobo, her face lighting up with delight.
"Mom, let me see if Bobo has been born yet!"
"Didn't you just see him a while ago?"
Andrew's younger sister, Wenruo, tugged at his sleeve eagerly. "Brother! Can I see Bobo again?"
For a child of her age, her love for Pokémon was undeniable.
Andrew smiled and let Bobo out of his Poké Ball.
Wenruo immediately ran up to him, her eyes sparkling. "Hello, Bobo! My name is Wenruo. I'm your sister! Please take care of me!"
Bobo chirped happily and rubbed his small face against Wenruo's palm, clearly liking her. Wenruo, overjoyed, hugged Bobo tightly and refused to let go.
While Bobo played with his sister, Andrew opened the system interface. His points had reached 200, but he wasn't planning to buy anything. The items in the system mall were far too expensive.
For example, a super evolution stone required 100,000 points.
He sighed. "Still a long way to go…"
At the same time, he noticed a Poké Ball in the system's storage. It had a sleek blue-and-white design, and the button in the middle bore a flying-type insignia. This must be the exclusive Poké Ball the system had mentioned earlier.
"Oh, right! I haven't signed in yet today."
The previous sign-ins had yielded decent rewards: two days ago, he received 6 regular Poké Balls, and yesterday, 5 bags of universal low-level energy cubes.
He wondered what today's reward might be—it all depended on luck.
"Sister Tongzi, sign in!" Andrew instructed the system.
[Congratulations, host, for signing in successfully! You have earned a chance to draw a high-level lottery.]
Andrew's heart skipped a beat.
"A high-level lottery? What's the difference between this and a regular one, Sister Tongzi?"
[Each regular lottery requires 100 points, while a high-level lottery costs 1,000 points.]
[High-level lotteries eliminate low-quality (white) items and increase the chances of obtaining higher-quality rewards.]
"Great stuff! Sister Tongzi, use the high-level lottery!"
The system's interface displayed a spinning roulette wheel in mid-air.
[Lottery in progress...]
The wheel slowed down, and a notification appeared:
[Ding! Congratulations, host, for obtaining a Yan Fan (Air Slash) skill disc (purple).]
"Yan Fan! Not bad at all. Today's haul is solid."
After Wenruo reluctantly left the room, Andrew replaced Bobo's Poké Ball with the exclusive flying-type one. He also attached the Yan Fan skill disc to it for absorption.
However, since Bobo was still in the novice stage, he couldn't learn the skill just yet.

In the following days, Andrew devoted himself to taking care of Bobo. He also began reviewing the knowledge he had obtained from the Primary Breeder Certificate. He planned to take the certification exam soon—after all, becoming a breeder was the fastest way to make money. With Pokémon training expenses on the rise, Andrew knew he had to start earning on his own.
Wenruo visited daily to play with Bobo, and as a result, Bobo became as close to her as he was to Andrew.
Four days passed quickly. Yesterday, Bobo advanced past the larval stage and officially entered the novice stage.
---
Today, Andrew's Fire Chick egg was ready to hatch.
A loud crack echoed through the room as the egg split open. The scene was almost identical to when Bobo had hatched. Andrew used a towel soaked in warm water to gently wipe away the mucus, but the Fire Chick resisted furiously.
"No fighting, buddy. This is for your own good," Andrew said firmly, staring at the little Pokémon.
The Fire Chick eventually gave in, though it let out a frustrated chirp. To make up for the ordeal, Andrew spent 100 points to exchange for an exclusive Poké Ball with a fiery red design and a flame emblem on the button.
After settling it into the new ball, he fed the Fire Chick a bottle of Moo Moo Milk.
The supply of Moo Moo Milk he'd bought earlier was already gone, so he had ordered three new boxes yesterday. Each box contained 12 bottles, and Bobo was now drinking three bottles a day. A box only lasted four days, and each cost 9,600 Pokémon coins.
Andrew sighed. "I'm burning through money like crazy…"
As he observed the Fire Chick, he noticed something unusual. Its energy seemed far more intense than Bobo's had been at birth.
"Could it be the 6V stats?" Andrew mused aloud. "But why does Fire Chick have a 'Talent' column in its stats, while Bobo doesn't? Is it because of the system?"
The past four days of daily check-ins had only yielded medicines and standard Poké Balls—nothing impressive.
Now, with both Bobo and Fire Chick settled, Andrew clipped their stylish Poké Balls to his belt. The contrasting designs looked incredibly sleek together.

Seven days into his vacation, Andrew decided it was time to begin Bobo's training. After all, he dreamed of becoming a Pokémon Master—and slacking off wouldn't cut it.
Instead of going to the Pokémon Club's training room, Andrew opted to train at home. Club facilities were expensive, and Bobo, still in the novice stage, didn't require high-tech equipment yet.
Standing in his yard, Andrew reviewed Bobo's updated stats:
[Pokémon: Bobo (Pidgey)]
Gender: Male
Ability: Keen Eye (Accuracy cannot be lowered)
Level: 6 (Novice Stage)
Potential: King
Moves: Tackle, Sand Attack
Taught Skills: Air Slash
Inherited Moves: Defog, Brave Bird, Foresight
"It's impressive," Andrew thought, "that Bobo has already learned Sand Attack on his own. Truly worthy of King-level potential."
He began with speed, endurance, and reaction training.
"Bobo, fly around the perimeter of the yard twenty times."
"Pop! Pop!" Bobo chirped energetically before taking off.
Andrew started his stopwatch to time the laps. Meanwhile, he hammered wooden stakes into the yard to create an obstacle course for reaction training.
The yard's perimeter was about 1,000 meters, so twenty laps equaled 20 kilometers. Bobo completed the distance in 20 minutes, maintaining a speed of 1,000 meters per minute. For a Pokémon fresh out of the larval stage, it was impressive progress.
Andrew smiled. "One day, you'll evolve into a Pidgeot and fly at two Machs!"
After the laps, Andrew rewarded Bobo with a bottle of Moo Moo Milk and an energy cube. Since passing the larval stage, Bobo could now eat energy cubes—and Andrew still had 15 bags left.
Once Bobo rested, they moved on to the obstacle course. The Fire Chick, meanwhile, sat in Wenruo's lap, watching the training intently.
Both Pokémon and trainer were determined to grow stronger. Andrew knew this was just the beginning of his journey to becoming a Pokémon Master.
