Chapter 2 - THE BEGINNING

Born at the same same hour, by the same midwives, It was all royalty and destiny from the beginning. This is a story that begins nineteen years ago, walk with me, laugh with me because you are about to get on edge as I tell you a tale that says he was mine to begin with.

Hafs was mine, everyone knew he was mine especially due to the fact that we were born minutes apart but I'm sure everyone knew he was mine. Our mothers were best of friends even though we knew there was internal rivalry between the two mothers but I didn't care neither does he care but people really did care I was a princess, from another royal family. Forgive my unlikely manners my name is Pen, if I am not the prettiest girl in the Kingdom then I'm one of the prettiest girl living in my time just kidding I am obviously the prettiest girl in the Kingdom.

Hafs was one of a kind, everyone know he was destined to be a great king, I was also destined to be a great, I'm brave, inquisitive and follower of my instinct. I took my first steps before he did, my parents believed I wanted to prove I could be more.

I never thought of it that way, I just believed I was an early bloomer who wants to achieve so much more in a little time.

I, officially saw Hafs when we were both six years of age, I would never forget that night, we have been invited for the king's celebration of spending a decade on the throne and my family had to be there. Hafs was sitting on his little seat reserve close to his father, looking tired. I wondered what he had been doing all day. All I do is play and read all day. Being a prince must be tiring I must have thought in my little mind.

Every child from each royal family must present a poem to celebrate the success of the king's celebration. I remembered I had spend months rehearsing for tonight. My mother had told my tutor to make me learn 'The Royal Wingman' it was the hardest poem in our kingdom then I had to be prefect because I am prefect like mum said. When it was our turn to recite, my name was called out, princess Pens of the Adil family.

I stood up and I noticed all eyes were on me.
