They're looking. They're watching. They're staring. Why do they stare? I'm not abnormal, if anything they're abnormal! Only one way to make it stop.
Oh, how the blood leaks from the sockets where their eyes were seconds ago, like craters on the surface of a red planet. Except the planet is actually beautiful and interesting, unlike these good for nothing morons. I pulled the bloody dagger out of the chest of the man who lay under me, the crimson liquid staining the grass beside.
"You were so useless, at least now the soil will use you to fertilise itself so something actually useful can grow!" My voice did not shake as I wiped the blood off and lifted the man by his arms, dragging him inside the hole I dug prior to killing him. He fell with a thud, sending a cloud of dirt into the air. Once I covered the area with dirt again, I sat on it and started up at the sky. The moon was nearly full, casting a blanket of silver light on the trees and grass. Only the sound of leaves rustling and owls hooting filled the silence. I sighed, before standing up and leaving the body, which would now decompose and turn into something beautiful, like a tree or ferns, maybe even some gorgeous flowers!
Why is it so sunny today? Why must the sun be out this early? I rubbed my eyes as I tried to open them. Focus, Valerian! You're going to the library today, that's all that matters! I got ready quickly, and left my small apartment. The outside world was bustling with life already, despite it being early. These people are insufferable… Or maybe I just don't know what it's like to have a normal life. All the buildings looked positively depressing, full of concrete and bland colours. No life, none at all! It's a crime! But the one building that kept its original appearance was the library. The only building I actually enjoyed looking at. The large doors were embraced by pillars, decorated with patterns that crept up towards the second story. As I walked in, the smell of old books and wood filled my nose sending shivers through my whole body. How delightful, I could hardly contain just how much I enjoyed this! Yet, as I strolled towards a section of the library, I stopped dead in my tracks. A man, no older than 19, stood in the same section I was now in. His hair was a brown so dark it looked black, but the sun made it look golden, and his face was a masterpiece, sculpted by the gods themselves! My, he was simply divine! I must stare at him, for I'm afraid he will simply vanish if I look away!
