Los Angeles International Airport buzzed with activity, the air filled with announcements, chatter, and the occasional sound of rolling suitcases. Two young men stood in a long line, their expressions a mix of excitement and impatience. Sameer, brimming with energy, turned to his friend Tom, who looked mildly annoyed.
"Last night, when you suddenly said, 'Let's go to Greenland,' I thought it was a joke. But you're serious, huh?" Sameer asked, grinning.
Tom shrugged casually. "Yeah! The idea just popped into my head. I thought we should take a short trip before our final exams, and Greenland seemed perfect. Plus, we can hang out with Paul and Suzein there."
Sameer nodded enthusiastically. "Totally agreed! I'm so excited."
"Me too, but this long line is driving me nuts," Tom muttered, tapping his foot impatiently.
"Cheer up, dude!" Sameer said, patting his friend's shoulder. "Look, only six people are ahead of us. No big deal."
Tom sighed but relented. "Hmm, I guess you're right. Let me watch some Reels to pass the time."
As Tom began scrolling through his phone, Sameer took in the lively atmosphere of the airport. The hustle and bustle, the anticipation of travel—it all added to his excitement about their impromptu adventure and reuniting with old friends. Suddenly, Tom's expression changed, and he nudged Sameer.
"Hey, bro, look at this!" Tom exclaimed.
"What..?" Sameer leaned over curiously.
"Just watch this and tell me—do you think this could happen to us?" Tom said, showing him a Reel.
Sameer leaned in, watching intently. The video featured animated characters from Chainsaw Man, and he couldn't help but comment, "Ohhh, these are the Chainsaw Man girls! They're so beautiful."
Tom rolled his eyes. "Really, bro? Focus! Read the caption on the edit."
"Okay, okay, let me see..." Sameer said, squinting at the text.
The caption read:
• "THE GIRLS IN MY SCHOOL/COLLEGE"
• "THE GIRLS IN MY LOCALITY"
And then came the twist:
• "THAT ONE GIRL I LOCK EYES AT AIRPORT & NEVER SEE AGAIN."
Sameer's eyes widened, and he burst out laughing. "Brooo! We're at an airport too. Is there a chance we might experience this?"
Tom smirked. "Yeah, but it's all about luck. And let's be real—we don't have that kind of luck."
"Damn! But I really want to experience that moment—locking eyes with a hot, cute, and beautiful girl. That'd be amazing," Sameer said wistfully.
Hours later, the boys found themselves inside the plane. Sameer's face lit up when he realized he had won the seating lottery.
"Yeh boy! I got the window seat," he declared triumphantly.
Tom groaned. "It can't be... Tell me it's a lie!"
"No, it isn't," Sameer said, grinning. "Looks like today GOD is with me."
"Uhhh, it sucks," Tom muttered, slumping into his seat.
Sameer started laughing. "You are laughing..!" Tom said, visibly annoyed.
"So should I cry instead?" Sameer quipped, laughing even harder.
Tom crossed his arms. "Wake me when we land in Greenland. I'm going to sleep."
"Oh man, there's nobody who sleeps on a plane except you," Sameer teased.
Tom pointed dramatically at several sleeping passengers. "Ooo really? So what are they doing? Meditation? Did they?"
The other passengers turned to stare, making Sameer nervous. "Calm down," he said with a nervous laugh. "Good night."
As the plane took off, Tom drifted off, while Sameer gazed out the window, dreaming of the adventures awaiting them.
