In Greenland, their friends Paul and Suzein lived. Sameer and Tom were staying at their friends' house. They rang the doorbell. The door opened, and Paul greeted them with enthusiasm.
"Wow! What a surprise, guys!" Paul exclaimed.
Sameer smirked. "Nice acting, Paul. You're pretending like we showed up unannounced."
The three friends laughed and hugged each other.
Paul stepped aside and invited them in.
"Come in, guys! Make yourselves at home."
Sameer chuckled. "No need to tell."
Tom looked around. "So… where's Suzein?"
Suzein walked towards them, smiling. "Hey, boys! How are you?"
Sameer grinned. "We're good! How about you, Suzein?"
"As you can see, fit and fine," she replied.
Paul interjected. "Hey, Sameer, you shouldn't call her by name."
Sameer looked confused. "And why..?"
"Because she's your sister-in-law," Paul teased.
Tom and Sameer were shocked.
"Wait… you two got married?" Tom asked.
Paul laughed. "Not exactly."
"Then you're engaged?"
"Nope."
Sameer raised an eyebrow. "So how is she our sister-in-law?"
Paul grinned. "I mean, we're planning to marry soon."
Sameer and Tom exchanged blank stares, making no reaction.
"You gotta be kidding," Sameer muttered.
After dinner, Sameer and Tom were given the same room to share as the house had limited space. They were unpacking their bags when the door suddenly swung open with a loud noise, startling them. Paul entered.
Tom relaxed. "Oh, it's you!"
Paul smiled. "So, liked this room?"
Tom shrugged. "A little, but it's comfortable."
Paul turned to Sameer. "What about you, Sameer?"
"First of all… why is there only one bed? Where am I supposed to sleep?"
Paul scratched his head. "We have a mattress for the floor."
"So I'm sleeping on the mattress?"
"Sorry, but yes."
Sameer groaned. "No way. Hey, bro, you're taking the mattress."
Tom smirked. "Definitely not. You got the window seat on the plane. For fairness, I'm taking the bed."
Sameer sighed. "This sucks… Fine, you win."
Tom grinned. "That's my bro."
Paul chuckled. "Alright, listen up. Tomorrow we head out around 9 or 10 AM. Good night!"
"Good night," Sameer and Tom replied in unison.
Tom slept on the bed while Sameer lay on the floor, setting up the mattress. As he tried to fall asleep, Sameer started thinking about Alya.
Inside Sameer's mind: Come to think of it, I really met a girl who's more beautiful than any model. Man, I wish I could be her boyfriend. Come on, it's not going to happen, but even so… I wish I could meet her again.
Eventually, they all drifted off to sleep.
