Erica slowly opened her eyes painfully, the room was so bright she covered her eyes slowly sitting up.
She saw a man, he was standing by the glass to floor window. She turned her head hissing in pain.
"Your awake" he said. It was more of a sentence than a question.
"Who are you? And why did you save me?" She asked. A lot of questions flooding in her mind. She was grateful but also confused.
"You do ask a lot of questions and I hate women who does" he stated coldly. I took a huge gulp down.
It was then i noticed, I had a bandage on my head, I remembered vividly hitting my head on a rock and collapsing. I also remembered being saved by someone.
"You don't remember me?"he asked indifferently.
I kept quiet and didn't know what to say. I knew he looked familiar. Oh now I remember, it was him, the man I had a one night stand with after finding out about Adams and Carolina affair. We had a steamy night together, I ran away the next day not to be in his hands again.
"Did you know what happened that night cost me?!!" He shouted and I flinched.
I nodded pitifully.
" you have to take responsibility as being my contract wife"
She looked at him confused. Contract? Marriage? She wasn't ready for all this.
"No I can't, I'm sorry about what happened but i can't"
"You're still rejecting me after a pathetic life, your boyfriend cheated on you, your dad hates you and your Mom left you when you were little, maltreated by your step mother, you still have the gut rejecting me"
She didn't know how he knew about her life but she couldn't give in.
"I'm sorry I can't" she said running out. Mikel didn't stop her, if not for any other reason he wouldn't have brought her here and gotten her punished.

Erica went back to her mansion. Opening the door, she saw Carolina and Adam with his parents. They all looked happy as if nothing happened.
"What are you doing here?" Her dad barked.
She kept quiet, this was the man her Mom ever loved and here he is treating his daughter this way.
"Oh dad please don't be like that, Erica how are you" Carolina said with a smile. Erica knew what the smile meant, victory.
"No I won't be! You have disgraced our family name, sleeping with an outsider, you whore, I thought you wouldn't carry your mother bad attitude but I guess it's a linage, you cheated on poor Adam with another man, you are so ungrateful after everything I did for you, like mother like daughter" her dad spat.
"Enough dad, what have you ever done for me, after Mom left for who knows why, you married another woman leaving me alone, you watch as they maltreated me, you didn't even bother knowing the truth you just believe her (pointing at Carolina), she was the one who cheated, she's the whore not me"
Suddenly she felt a slap on her face, it was by her step mother Adele.
Erica could hear Carolina sobs more like crocodile tears.
"You're so ungrateful"she heard Adam's Mom
"I can tolerate a lot of things from you but not insulting my daughter, who slept with another man, you, Carolina hid her feelings for Adam all because of you but you fucked up, get out of here!"Adele shouted.
"I came here only to take my mother's property, after that I would leave"
"You aren't taking anything from here, leave before i take action" Her dad Thompson said. He held her elbow pulling her out of the house and closing the door.
She couldn't let the tears fall, not now. She knew what she had to do, she couldn't keep being good or she won't survive in this world.

Mikel heard a knock.
"Come in" he said. It was his secretary.
"Sir a woman in a tattered state requests to see you"
He knew who it would be, the little one.
"Let her in" he said and the woman bowed walking out.
Erica came in short after.
She bowed her head.
"I'm ready to do whatever you say"
