Chapter 2 - Heartbreak and Hangovers

Olivia's POV

For as long as I've known, alcohol and heartbreak has never been a great combo.

But this time, it almost cost me a lot.

"thud-thud-thud", I heard a sharp knock on the door that echoed through my thoughts. Who could that be? I got up from my pillow soaked with tears and alcohol and headed for the door

Nelly?, "Mr Lawson asked me to clear your Locker. These are your stuffs" she said

I took them from her about to shut the door and go back upstairs

"Are you okay?" she asked in a subtle tone. "I'm fine. Get out" I said as I slammed the door on her face

It's not like she ever really cared about how I felt

I fell on the sofa going through my stuff and crying in a loud tone letting out all my pain and anguish of what has happened in just one day.

I suddenly saw the present Nelly handed to me from the office that was sent by someone. I decided to open it. It had a card that said "Happy Birthday Stupid Bitch "

The card was disturbing but I cared less about it. I went through the other contents of the present and it contained pictures of Martin's dick in different women's asses.

"Oh my goodness!" I whimpered

Martins was a devil. He didn't just hit my best friend. He hit anything on skirt

"Thud-thud-thud" I heard another knock on the door. I felt it was Nelly coming back again

"What do you want from me? Get out!" I screamed as I walked towards the door and opened it

It wasn't Nelly, it was Martins.

I glared at Martin, furious, and searched for something to throw at him. "You whore, how dare you come back here?" I spat.

His expression turned monstrous as he gripped my hands and neck, squeezing tightly. "Don't throw things at me," he snarled, his words cutting deep.

"You're boring, you dress terribly, you're sexually insatiable and terrible in bed."

Martin's words pierced my heart like a dagger, leaving me breathless and bleeding emotionally.

He paused, his eyes filled with venom. "No one would ever date you." I struggled to breathe, pleading with him to stop choking me.

"Martins, you're choking me please stop!"

"I didn't come to beg," he sneered. "I came to see if you got my gift. Stupid bitch."

Stupid Bitch? that rang a bell. Oh shit

Martins sent the present.

"Anna, I need you right now, " I said to my sister and only sibling on the phone.

I was looking for an escape route. Somewhere far from this place, everything reminded me of Martins and how my life had been filled with endless surprises these past few days.

I was heading back to Florida to be with my sis. I didn't have a beautiful relationship with my Mom since she cheated on my father but Anna was a collaboration of a sister, a mother and a friend.

"You look like you've been hit by a bus" Anna said jokingly as she hugged me and helped with my bag. The smell of her cologne had a sense of comfort.

I wished I was hit by a bus instead. It won't hurt as much as it hurts right now.

Anna was 3 years older than me but she looked younger. She was a fashion freak and didn't joke with her looks or her diet. Unlike me who just wanted a job and a husband.

I guess that was one of the reasons Martin left me

"Hey boo, you sounded worried on the phone, how did your birthday go?, how many dicks did you ride?" Anna asked teasingly and followed it with a giggle

"Well, there was no dick riding. But I got a lot of presents" I responded "ooouuu, let's open them"Anna said sounding excited.

"I lost my Job, I saw my best friend and my boyfriend fucking on my bed" I said with my eyes filled with unshed tears.

"That asshole, come here" Anna smirked in annoyance and leaned towards me to give me a comforting hug the smell of her cologne covered my nose

"Forget about him, you deserve better Livvy" she urged consoling me with a firm but gentle voice

I wish it was as easy as it sounds to forget about the pain.

"Get up, Let's go party!" she declared, her tone brooking no argument. She wouldn't let me wallow in self pity. It was a challenge to her ego.

I hoped the party would take my mind off Martins harsh words for a while

But I was wrong.

I stormed into the club with my sister, determined to drown my sorrows.

We hit the bar, ordering rounds of shots and dancing the night away. As the music pulsed, my sister disappeared onto the dance floor, surrounded by a group of admiring guys

I wasn't surprised, I was used to being alone at some point whenever I go partying with someone that hot.

I lost track of her in the crowd, too caught up in my own misery. That's when I bumped into him. Mr Williams. My drink splattered all over his crisp white shirt.

Furious, I shouted at him, "Watch where you're going! Can't you see?" He stood calmly, his girlfriend by his side, as I unleashed my suppressed frustration on him

I turned on her, my words laced with venom. "You know, he's probably cheating on you with your best friend. You should check his phone."

At that moment, I wasn't thinking clearly, but it felt like a declaration of girl power. I was offering advice to his girlfriend based on my own bitter experience, even if it didn't entirely make sense.

Mr Williams' expression turned cold. "You're just a clumsy girl, looking for attention," he sneered.

My eyes widened in outrage. "What did you just call me?" I demanded, my voice rising.

The girlfriend, fueled by anger and protectiveness, took a step forward, her hand raised as if to strike me. Mr Williams swiftly intervened, grabbing her wrist. "No, don't," he said, his voice firm but controlled.

But his eyes never left mine, and I could see the shock and surprise there.

It was clear that no one had ever spoken to him like that before. He seemed taken aback by my ferocity, and for a moment, we just stared at each other.

As we finished our heated argument, I suddenly felt a wave of nausea wash over me. The excessive drinking had finally caught up with me, and I vomited right there in the club.

My sister rushed to my side, with a concerned gaze on her face. "Are you okay?" she asked, before quickly adding, "Okay, that's it, let's get out of here." She helped me up and led me away from the mess.

Little did I know, my outburst would come back to haunt me…
