Loraine Eleanoir:
This is cold, it's the first time.
Very hungry, that's second.
Tired... and this is the third.
It's been five hours since we arrived here.
Gathering some branches to burn, we finally managed to set up a temporary resting place before continuing our search for the boss of this gate.
We divided ourselves into several groups—some hunting for food, others collecting firewood—while the professors remained at the temporary base, preparing meals.
I picked up a piece of wood, then another, in this vast expanse of white snow that reflected the light sharply into my eyes.
"Loraine, that's enough. Come back." Tiffanie called out. I turned my gaze away from the small mountain with a cave in its face.
Walking over to Tiffanie, I noticed she had gathered more firewood than I had.
As we walked side by side, Tiffanie muttered, "How long do you think we'll be here?"
"You're unusually calm in a situation like this, Tiffanie." I sighed and smiled faintly.
"You know, this place drains my energy, so I have to conserve it all the time."
I chuckled at that. Tiffanie continued.
"So? How long do you think we'll be here?" she asked again, her tone more insistent as she turned her gaze forward.
"Not long, as long as we keep moving." I muttered, letting out another sigh that never seemed to reach satisfaction.
Tiffanie smiled and adjusted her pace to match my slower steps.
"You really want us to keep searching for the boss's nest, huh?" she asked softly.
"No, more like..." I paused. "Unlucky." How do I survive like this? The mental pressure...
Before Tiffanie could notice my unease, I forced myself to move forward, resisting the fear creeping in from all directions. I continued walking through the trees, their presence providing a strange sense of calm.
Then, a figure moved elegantly through the snow while the others remained tense. He approached me without hesitation.
"Oh, Wein?" I was slightly startled. He extended his arms without a word, his sincere smile present as always.
"Is it heavy? Let me help." Wein offered. Without hesitation, I quickly handed him the firewood.
His expression tensed slightly when I roughly transferred the load to him, but he quickly adjusted his grip, repositioning the wood in his arms.
"Eh? Is it heavy?" I asked.
"No, you can go back now." Wein reassured me with an easygoing smile before walking towards the bonfire, carrying the firewood. Now empty-handed, I followed behind him.
Wein Arcveil:
[Constellation 'Heaven Form Underground' likes your romantic deeds.]
After placing the firewood in the bonfire and grabbing some food, we finally prepared to move towards the hill with the cave.
"Is everyone ready?" Professor Wykenko confirmed.
For now, our condition is stable. After an hour of rest and eating our hunted meals, it's time to return to the battlefield.
