Why can a constellation see me at a time like this?
In this world, it is clear that constellations can speak with incarnations, but it is not clear who the incarnation is. What I do know is that constellations can only send messages at night when they are clearly displayed in the night sky.
We left our temporary resting place to complete this raid. The campfire had been extinguished, and the places we left behind were slowly being buried under the falling snow.
We continued moving with the others, having already defeated several polar bears for food, as well as rabbits and other small animals.
But the atmosphere here is much colder than in the outside world, so I have to conserve my energy.
"Watch out!"
That was the only warning I got.
I immediately moved after hearing the sound of cracking wood. Realizing I was standing beneath a tree, I quickly jumped away just as it began to fall miraculously. If I had remained there, I would have been crushed under its weight.
[Constellation '1864 t' chuckled at your reaction.]
Damn this constellation.
"Wow! Wow! Look who managed to escape," a voice taunted, its presence impossible to ignore.
"That—that's... an Ice Elf!" someone behind me shouted.
I quickly composed myself, straightened my clothes, and drew my sword.
"Whoa, whoa! Calm down, bro! I don't want to kill you... at least, not yet," he said, chuckling. I remained in a defensive stance, keeping my gaze locked on him.
He sat atop a horse, flanked by several of his troops. Looking closer, many of them were already prepared with their weapons.
"Only?" I pressed, urging him to finish his words, suspecting he was trying to bait me into curiosity.
The Ice Elf grinned, his eyes glowing as he observed me. "I always wondered why so many constellations are watching you."
Even the monsters from the dungeon are questioning this? What is happening to me? That's the one question that constantly plagues my mind in this world.
"Constellations?" I asked.
[Constellation 'The Dragon's Lands' does not like your question.]
[Constellation 'Snow in the Abyss' condemns you for asking such a thing.]
[Constellation 'Pure Darkness' glares at you intently.]
I already knew it would turn out like this. So, they are watching me, huh?
"You don't know?" The Ice Elf laughed before his expression turned sadistic. "That means you're delicious prey."
The Snow Elf spurred his horse forward and suddenly hurled an ice dagger at me. Its edges were polished to a mirror shine, deadly sharp.
I dodged the attack, flipping midair, and swiftly retreated to my party.
