The hum of the classroom was a familiar sound—soft chatter, the scratch of pencils on paper, the occasional shuffle of feet. As Caius went over to dylan's desk, he slapped him lightly on the back with a grin.
"Yo, let's go eat lunch now, Dylan!" Caius said, his voice bright with energy.
Dylan looked up from his doodling, a wide, carefree grin spreading across his face. He never seemed to take things too seriously—his notebook was full of random sketches, messy lines that had nothing to do with their lessons. "Yeah, yeah, hold on a second. Just finishing my masterpiece." He waved his hand dramatically, as if what he was drawing could change the world.
Caius snorted and slapped Dylan's back again. "Come on, man. You've been saying that for the past ten minutes." Dylan stretched lazily in his seat, letting out a mock yawn. "Well, you're always in such a rush, Cris. Just let me finish my doodles, then we can go."
"Fine," Caius said, rolling his eyes. "But hurry up, or I'm leaving without you." He knew Dylan wouldn't take long, but it was part of their routine now. Dylan was always the easygoing one, the guy who could turn anything into a joke, and Caius had learned to go with the flow.
Dylan's grin widened. "You wouldn't dare leave me behind. We both know I'd get the better food, anyway." He snapped his notebook shut with a flourish, not even bothering to grab his bag. He pushed it aside on the desk and stood up, stretching his arms above his head with exaggerated laziness.
"Come on, let's go!" Dylan said, already walking out of the classroom, moving at his usual unhurried pace. "Oh yeah you'll pay for my lunch right wont you bud." with a big smile on his face.
Cris stared after him, shaking his head in amusement. "You're unbelievable, you know that?"
Dylan glanced back over his shoulder, flashing a carefree grin. "Yep, that's why you like me!"
Caius rolled his eyes "EW, you know im not gay right?, i have a girlfriend already so how about get find some for yourself."While following him out, knowing that this was just another day with his easygoing best friend.
As Dylan and Caius walked down the hallway toward the cafeteria, still chatting about random things, they suddenly bumped into two familiar figures."Oh, hey!" Caius called out, stepping back and grinning when he saw who it was. "June! Alisan!"
June was the first to react, flashing a warm smile as she straightened up from where she had been talking to Alisan. "Hey, guys!" she said with a wave. Her eyes flickered to Dylan, who was already grinning like an idiot.
Alisan stood beside June's, arms crossed, but her face softened when she saw Cris. Without a word, Alisan pulled him into a quick, tight hug, something they had started doing more often lately. When they pulled away, Alisan smirked. "You two going to the cafeteria, or did you want to get some fresh air first?"
Caius grinned back, resting a hand on Alisan's shoulder. "You know we're always hungry. Food first, then maybe some fresh air." He gave Dylan a nudge, who was looking unusually quiet compared to his usual antics.
Dylan, still in his laid-back mood, waved it off with a lazy grin. "Caius said he'd pay for my lunch today im not saying no to a free food espicially from him and im definitely buying the expensive stuff" Grinning like a complete idiot as usual.
June raised an eyebrow. "You and your food preferences. I swear, but i know Cauis did not offer you to buy lunch for you, you just said it yourself forcing him"
Dylan shrugged casually. "Hey, you know im broke right give me a break plus he has been buying me food its normal now." His grin widened, and he wiggled his fingers in the air, making a mock-serious gesture.
Alisan chuckled. "You're a character, Dylan."
Caius rolled his eyes but smiled fondly. "That's one way to put it."
As they all began walking toward the cafeteria together, the usual banter continued—June teasing Dylan about his endless love for food, Alisan and Caius sharing quiet smiles, and Dylan effortlessly drifting from topic to topic. The group moved easily together, each one as comfortable with the others as if they'd known each other forever
