Chapter 1 - New Beginnings, Shared Spaces

The campus was buzzing with excitement, as new students rushed to find their dorms, eagerly preparing for the start of university life. Eun-ji stood in front of her new dorm building, looking up at the towering structure with a mix of nervousness and anticipation. It felt surreal. After months of preparation and anticipation, she was finally here, about to embark on a new chapter of her life.

Beside her, Min-jun stood quietly, his usual calm demeanor offering her a sense of reassurance. They were both nervous, but he was always the rock she could lean on. Together, they had decided to share a dorm room, and while the decision made sense given their close relationship, the thought of living together in a shared space was something that still felt a little strange.

"Ready for this?" Min-jun asked, glancing at her with a half-smile.

Eun-ji returned the smile, though it didn't quite reach her eyes. "I think so. It's just... a little overwhelming, you know?"

"I get it," he replied. "But hey, we're in this together. We'll make it work."

As they entered the building, the reality of university life settled in. The long hallways were filled with students carrying boxes, suitcases, and bags. The sound of laughter and chatter echoed off the walls as people met up with friends and family. Eun-ji felt out of place, like a fish out of water, but Min-jun's presence next to her grounded her. She took a deep breath, her fingers brushing his as they walked side by side.

When they arrived at their room, Eun-ji felt a twinge of nervousness. Would they be able to live together without things getting awkward? Min-jun, ever the optimist, opened the door with a grin.

"Welcome to our new home," he said.

Eun-ji looked around the small room. It wasn't much—just two single beds, a desk, and a few shelves—but it was theirs. A place where they could grow, study, and build their future together. Eun-ji felt the flutter of excitement in her chest, even as the nerves lingered.

"I like it," she said, her voice soft.

"You'll love it once we settle in," Min-jun reassured her.

As they began unpacking, the door to the room next door opened, and Hye-jin stepped out, waving enthusiastically. "Eun-ji! Min-jun!" she called, grinning widely.

"Hey!" Eun-ji responded with a smile. "I didn't know you were in this building."

Hye-jin laughed, pointing to her own dorm room. "Yeah, same floor. And look, I'm sharing with my boyfriend, too."

Eun-ji blinked, surprised. "You and your boyfriend are...?"

"Living together, yeah," Hye-jin answered, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "It's a little crazy, but I'm looking forward to it. I'll have my own space, but he's still nearby."

"That's... pretty bold," Eun-ji said, raising an eyebrow. "But if anyone can make it work, it's you two."

Hye-jin laughed. "Thanks, but it's definitely going to be an adjustment. I mean, who knew how much stuff we both have to unpack? I swear, he brought half his life with him."

Min-jun chuckled. "Sounds like our situation, too. I think we both overpacked."

As Hye-jin chatted excitedly about her own dorm, Eun-ji felt a sudden warmth spread in her chest. She was surrounded by people who cared for her, and that made the transition to university life feel a little less daunting. She wasn't alone in this.

Later that evening, after they had finished unpacking, Eun-ji and Min-jun sat side by side on the edge of their bed, looking out at the campus below. The sun was setting, casting a warm golden glow over the trees and buildings.

"It's beautiful," Eun-ji whispered, her head resting on Min-jun's shoulder.

"It is," he agreed, his voice soft. "And we're just getting started."

Eun-ji smiled, feeling the weight of her nervousness lift. This was the beginning of something new—something she couldn't yet fully understand, but something she was ready to embrace.

And as the stars began to twinkle in the sky, she knew that, with Min-jun by her side, she could face whatever the future held.
