Chapter 1 - chapter 1

After Gaea was defeated, Percy and Annabeth decided to move to a relatively quiet place in Boston. Although Annabeth worked in New York, Percy had begun working in Boston, doing odd jobs.

but that all changed when the bombs dropped. it was like tartarus on earth, which he could say since he's been there.

Percy survived the initial explosion but collapsed next to vault 111. Percy wouldn't know it at the time, but he had gotten both lucky and unlucky. because of his half god nature, he was able to sleep through the worst of it.

percy closed his eyes feeling the effects of the radiation, and the last thing on his mind was what would happen to annabeth and camp half blood.

...

"hey you, finally awake," percy heard a woman's voice as a hand touched his shoulder.

Percy's eyes twitched open before looking around and noticing the same wasteland he had before.

"im... alright," percy said in a raspy voice before trying to stand up, but failing to do so.

"Here," the woman said, and before Percy could refuse, she shoved a needle into his arm. It took a minute before percy was able to get on his feet.

"What was that," Percy asked.

"a stimpak, it'll heal ya. but it won't regenerate limbs," the woman said, and for the first time percy looked at her.

she was wearing this... hideous blue jumpsuit and looked like she's been through this a hundred times. almost as she was amused by his response to the stim.

"your... nora right? you used to be my neighbor," Percy said, rubbing his head as a headache soon hit him.

"How are you alive?" Nora asked as she handed Percy some dirty water that she had found nearby.

Percy shuttered as he looked at the water inside the carton, but being the son of Poseidon he didn't have to worry about diseases or the radiation inside the water.

Percy took a sip of the water with a shutter. His throat was dry from having slept for what seemed like 200 years.

"I don't know" Percy finally responded to Nora, before finally sitting up.

Meanwhile Nora was in VATS, and at first she didn't understand why he was the "overpowered companion" but she soon watched the 100 hit chance dwindle down until it dropped to 0 percent.

Which surprised her, since she was always given a chance to hit a target, even through cover. She watched Percy as he moved his rusty body, he searched his pants for his trusty pen and smiled.

Why he smiled, Nora didn't know. But something definitely felt dangerous about it. While Percy was staring at the destroyed wasteland Nora looked into the mod that the player had installed.

'What kind of person did I live by' Nora thought.

....

Meanwhile, Olympus was dark. Frighteningly so. Hestia has spent the last 200 years keeping the single ember burning.

That single ember had let Olympus exist for as long as it did. A Lot of the minor gods had faded, but thanks to people finding camp half-blood and creating a settlement there, they existed.

There weren't any believers, but some did pray for a higher being to save them.

The main gods were stuck to their throne, unable to move due to their lack of power. Humanity as a whole was on the brink of extinction, and the last child of the gods had been before the war with gaea.

Most of the gods had expected to fade after a couple of years, but instead they were living day by day. Growing older, and not in a good way.

Even Aphrodite looked like complete shit. Pardon her language, but even Hestia was stressed.

But that single ember flickered before reigniting the hearth. Instead of a small ember, now was a small miracle. The size was merely that of a hand, but that had given Hestia something she had long given up on. Hope.

For the first time in 2 centuries there was an actual flame and not embers. For the first time, it seemed like everything might be okay.

But the question was who was able to produce that much belief in this wasteland? Who believed in them so much that it was able to rekindle the earth.

It wasn't like the gods were out in the wasteland having children like they would have been, and any descendents of demigods were wiped out.

Whether it had been radiation, or the monsters that had tracked them down and killed them.

The Romans were wiped out almost immediately, and then so was camp half-blood.

The effects of that tiny little hope in the hearth was enough to rejuvenate Olympus a tiny bit.

The fires around the throne room lit up once more, and for once the gods didn't look so exhausted and old. In fact some of them looked younger, but not as young as they were before the war with Kronos, but they were getting there.

Hestia looked into the hearth, and she looked at the man who was bringing all the changes. He was sitting next to a woman that she didn't recognize but she could never mistake it.

He had long hair, a beard and a mustache, but he was already shaving the mustache and beard, but it was the eyes that gave it away.

"He's alive," she said in a whisper.

But the gods being gods of course heard what she was saying.

Olympus shuttered before they felt the place moved. The gods had always thought that New York would be the place where they faded, but low and behold all of Olympus was shifted.

Instead of being in New York, they were now in Boston. But it made sense since now he was the heart of Olympus.

Percy Jackson had saved Olympus for the third time, and he didn't even know it yet.

...

Percy let out a soft sigh as he explored his old home. The house was beyond destroyed, but the items left inside his house were priceless.

Percy held up a small picture frame that was laying next to his bed and smiled softly.

In the picture was him and annabeth at their wedding. It wasn't a grand thing, just close friends, but it was the best day in his life.

Percy carefully removed the faded image from the picture frame before placing it in his jacket.

"Alright I'm ready" Percy said as he looked over towards Nora.

"Good. It'll take us about an hour or 2 to make it to Diamond City. There we can load up on supplies" she said as she modified her 10M pistol.

"You're the boss," percy said with a small sigh, dreading another quest.
