Chapter 5 - The breaking point

Luna stood at Sony's door, her heart pounding. She had arrived at his apartment, determined to clear up the misunderstanding, despite the tension that had been building between them.

When Sony opened the door and saw her standing there, his face immediately soured. Without a word, he tried to shut the door, but Luna's hand shot out, stopping him.

"Wait, Sony," she pleaded, her voice barely above a whisper. "Please, just let me explain."

He scoffed, rolling his eyes. "What now?" he asked, his tone dripping with irritation.

Luna took a deep breath and began explaining everything—the dinner with her parents, the picture with Tony, and how the entire situation had been blown out of proportion. She even showed him pictures of her with Tony, trying to make him understand that Tony was just a childhood friend. But with each word she spoke, Sony's anger seemed to rise.

"I don't believe a word of it," he snapped, his voice cold. "You've been cheating on me this whole time."

The words hit Luna harder than she expected. She felt the weight of his mistrust and knew there was little she could say to change his mind.

Frustrated and desperate, Luna stepped closer, wrapping her arms around him in a tight hug. She needed him to understand, to feel her sincerity, but Sony pushed her away.

"That won't change anything," he said firmly, his voice hardening. "Unless I go meet your parents as their future in-law. Then maybe I'll believe you."

Luna blinked, caught off guard. She wasn't sure what to think. Her mind was racing, the idea of introducing him to her parents making her stomach churn, but she had no choice. If this was the only way to fix things, she had to agree.

"Fine," she said, her voice low. "I'll take you to my parents."

Sony looked at her, his expression unreadable. "Tomorrow. No excuses."

Luna's heart sank, wondering why he was so desperate to meet her parents. The question lingered in her mind, but she pushed it aside. This was the only way to salvage what was left of their relationship.

After their tense discussion, Luna sat on the couch, attempting to lighten the mood. She began chatting with Sony about the show she had been working on, talking about the latest filming experiences and the challenges she'd faced. It was a brief attempt to ease the tension, but it didn't completely erase the weight of the earlier conversation.

Later that night, they went out for dinner, the awkwardness still hanging between them. After the meal, they parted ways and returned to their respective homes. As Luna texted Tony, thanking him for his support and letting him know everything had been resolved, a strange sense of unease washed over her. Tony, as always, had been there for her, but something about the situation felt off.

The Next Day:

Luna called her mother and informed her about bringing her boyfriend over. Her mother, excited at the prospect, expressed her happiness. "It's about time, Luna. You're 20, after all. You need someone in your life." She assumed that the boyfriend Luna had mentioned was the one she knew, the one she had heard so much about.

But later that evening, as Luna arrived at her parents' home with Sony, her mother's face slowly shifted from happiness to confusion. The man standing before her wasn't the Tony she had known. The shock and confusion in her mother's eyes only added to the tension building in Luna's mind.
