Chapter 33 - Chapter 33 : PVP

Linggis massaged his tense neck after the exhausting battle against the Abyssal Wyrm. He stared at the screen where the notification "Player Rana2452 has entered the chat room" was still displayed. Raising an eyebrow, he opened the chat window.

Linggis: "Alright, what do you want? I'm exhausted. Don't tell me you want another PvP match."

Rana2452: "You think I logged in just to greet you? Of course, I want something. But first, I need to set something straight."

Linggis: "If this is about that earlier choice, I didn't mean to cause drama. I just picked the more interesting option."

Rana2452: "Interesting, huh? So you're saying I'm not interesting enough?"

Linggis sighed. "Why is this getting personal?" he muttered while typing.

Linggis: "Listen, Rana. I'm just a regular player who prefers challenges over small talk. If you want something, just say it."

Rana2452: "Fine. I want one thing: a rematch. I can't accept that you won the way you did. I'm sure you just got lucky."

Linggis: "Seriously? I just spent 10 hours fighting a hellish dragon. You think I still have the energy for a duel?"

Rana2452: "You have no choice. If you refuse, I'll spread rumors that you're too scared to fight me again."

Linggis shook his head, chuckling. "What a drama queen," he thought. But he knew his reputation as one of the best PvP players was at stake.

Linggis: "Alright. But this is the last duel. I don't care about the outcome—after this, leave me alone."

Rana2452: "Deal. Get ready."

The Duel Begins

Linggis reentered the PvP arena. This time, Rana2452 looked far more serious. Her character, with long blue hair and gleaming golden armor, walked gracefully yet ominously. In her hand, a massive sword filled with glowing red runes sparkled menacingly.

Rana2452: "This time, I won't hold back."

Linggis: "Good. Don't go easy on me—that's boring."

The duel began with high intensity. Rana2452 unleashed a series of swift attacks, combining area damage and direct strikes. However, Linggis used his skill to read her attack patterns. He dodged with Shadow Heil, then countered with Phantom Strike, a quick attack that cut down a significant portion of Rana2452's HP.

Rana2452: "Tsk, you're still that fast."

Linggis: "And you're still too slow with that massive sword of yours."

The exchange of attacks continued. Rana2452 seemed to have learned Linggis' patterns from their previous fight. She exploited the gaps between his skill cooldowns to launch counterattacks. Several times, Linggis barely survived with low HP.

Linggis: "You've definitely improved. But it's not enough."

In a critical moment, Linggis activated Shadow Ambush, an ultimate skill that allowed him to strike from within the shadows undetected. With precise movements, he appeared right behind Rana2452 and delivered the final blow.

[Victory! You have defeated Rana2452]

Linggis leaned back in his chair, exhausted but satisfied. On the screen, Rana2452's character collapsed, her sword embedded in the ground.

Linggis: "Like I said, I don't need luck."

Rana2452: "...You won again. But this time, it felt different. I actually enjoyed the fight."

Linggis frowned. "What is this?" he wondered.

Rana2452: "We have to fight again sometime. But for now, I'll admit defeat. You're really interesting."

Linggis: "Eh? Wait, what do you mean?"

Rana2452: "You'll find out later. Don't worry."

Rana2452 exited the chat room without giving further explanation. Linggis just stared at the screen, confused.

"These people just keep getting weirder," he muttered, rubbing his face. But deep down, he knew this wasn't over. That girl would definitely be back with a new challenge.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Rana2452 smiled faintly as she turned off her monitor. "Linggis, huh? You won't escape from me that easily."
