Chapter 36 - Chapter 36 : The Battle began ll

The battle between Linggis and the Goddess grew more intense. Explosions of energy and flashes of weapons filled the arena, making the atmosphere even more electrifying. However, outside the arena, two other figures watched closely: a young girl with bright blue hair like the Goddess and a mature woman with silver hair, who appeared calm yet exuded a sharp aura.

"What is that?" asked the young girl, the Goddess's younger sister, her brows furrowed. "The Goddess is fighting… but her opponent seems suspicious. Look at the way he fights—it's like he doesn't just want to win, but to destroy."

The silver-haired woman, the Goddess's cousin, nodded slightly, her sharp gaze fixed on Linggis. "I agree. That man looks too cunning. It seems like he's fighting with the intent to kill, not just defend himself."

The young girl clenched the small sword at her waist tightly. "We have to help her! If that man is an enemy, the Goddess is in danger."

The silver-haired woman sighed but eventually agreed. "Alright. But we have to be careful. This man doesn't look weak. Don't be reckless."

Without hesitation, they dashed into the arena, breaking through the energy field surrounding it. Linggis, who was dodging a dangerous slash from the Goddess, immediately noticed the presence of two newcomers.

"Oh, great. More people trying to kill me. This feels like a really annoying birthday," he muttered, spinning his cane to parry the Goddess's attack.

The young girl leaped into the air, her sword glowing with bright blue energy. "Stop your game, enemy! You won't touch my sister again!" she shouted, striking down at Linggis from above.

Linggis, with agile movements, jumped back to avoid the slash. But the silver-haired woman was already waiting on the other side, swinging her long spear at him with lightning speed.

"This is so unfair," Linggis said flatly, though his body moved with incredible agility to dodge attacks from both sides. "I don't even know you, and you're already trying to kill me. This is really a bad day."

The Goddess, who was initially surprised by her relatives' arrival, quickly understood the situation. "Stop! Don't interfere!" she shouted, but the young girl didn't listen.

"No, Sister! This man is dangerous! He's cunning and looks like he wants to kill you!" the girl retorted, attacking Linggis without hesitation.

Linggis finally stopped dodging and stood firm, looking at the three of them. "Okay, okay. Listen to me for a second," he said, raising one hand while keeping his cane in the other. "I don't know what you think, but I'm not trying to kill anyone. I just want to finish this stupid duel and go home."

"Liar!" the young girl shouted, attacking again. But this time, Linggis decided to respond. With a swift movement, he caught her sword with his cane, which transformed into a whip. He easily yanked the weapon from her hands.

"See? I didn't even hurt you," he said, tossing the sword aside. "Now, will you listen to me before I really lose my patience?"

The silver-haired woman narrowed her eyes but stopped attacking. "You have ten seconds to speak."

Linggis let out a long sigh. "I don't know what the Goddess told you about me, but I'm not an enemy. She's the one who brought me here for a duel, not the other way around. And now you two come charging in, trying to kill me for no clear reason. If I were really as cunning as you think, one of you would already be hurt by now."

The Goddess finally stepped forward, raising her hand to stop her two relatives. "He's right. This is just a duel between me and him. There's no need for anyone to interfere."

The young girl looked confused, but the silver-haired woman kept her sharp gaze on Linggis. "In that case, we'll be watching. But if you try anything suspicious, we won't hesitate to stop you."

Linggis rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah, I get it. You're all too dramatic. Now, can I continue this fight without any more interruptions?"
