Chapter 8: The Supreme Battlefield Begins

A bright light illuminated the vast space, swallowing every human present. When the light dimmed, thousands found themselves standing in a seemingly endless white void. Confusion and fear rippled through the crowd, their murmurs growing louder until a single presence silenced them.

Hovering in the air, a figure clad in radiant silver and gold robes, with six majestic wings unfurled behind them, gazed down with an expression of absolute superiority. Their golden eyes shimmered with cold amusement.

Then, a voice—calm, condescending, and eerily melodic—echoed through the void.

"Welcome to the Supreme Battlefield."

A pause. The figure's lips curled into a smirk before they continued.

"A grand test... a game, if you will. One that the Observer bestows upon selected planets or individuals. A test designed to forge Supremes—beings who stand above all others."

Their smirk deepened, and their tone dripped with sarcasm.

"Ah, humanity... such brilliant creatures. So full of potential, yet so utterly pathetic. If nothing else, your arrogance is quite entertaining."

His words struck a nerve. Panic erupted among the gathered humans. Some screamed in denial, while others fell to their knees, shaking. But among them, a few voices rose in anger.

A burly man, clad in expensive clothing, his fingers adorned with rings, stepped forward, glaring at the angelic figure.

"You! If you're the one responsible for this, then you better send me back right now! Do you have any idea who I am?!"

Another man, emboldened by the first, sneered.

"Yeah! You're rich, right? You can get us out of here! If you don't… well, you will regret it."

A chorus of agreement followed. Fear turned into desperation. Desperation into hostility.

The figure, still floating above, sighed. Then, without a word, he flicked his finger.

The next moment—

Pop!

Blood sprayed as the head of the man who had spoken first exploded like a watermelon. His body collapsed onto the featureless ground, lifeless.

Silence.

The crowd froze. Gasps, whimpers, and muffled screams filled the air. Many stumbled back, their faces pale.

The angel, still smirking, slowly turned their gaze to the rest.

"Any other requests?"

No one answered.

POV: The Top Six Ranks

Shadow - Alex (Rank 1)

Alex's expression did not change, but his eyes darkened. The way this angel looked at them—it was like an indifferent god watching ants struggle. So, this is the kind of power that exists in this world… He clenched his fists. one day i can also choose my faith.

Celestina (Rank 2)

Celestina remained impassive, her face as calm as ever. She had seen much in her life. Death did not shake her. Instead, she observed. She analyzed. So, this angel sees us as mere insects. How predictable.

Carl (Rank 3)

Carl's face was grim, but he did not react much. He had expected something like this. The strong ruled. The weak perished. That was the way of things.

John (Rank 4)

John smirked. Pathetic. Not the angel—no, he acknowledged their power. But the fool who had dared to threaten them? Such an idiot. This 'angel'… sooner or later, I'll have them under my feet.

Jonathan (Rank 5)

Jonathan's hands trembled. He swallowed hard. This… this isn't normal. That man… he died just like that. Fear clawed at his mind.

Eric (Rank 6)

Eric remained calm, his expression unreadable. There was something about this whole situation that he understood—something the others didn't.

The angel's voice broke the silence again.

"Now that we have established order, let us proceed. I am Camilla, an angel of the Supreme Angel Race."

He spread his arms, his wings glowing with divine light.

"We, the Supreme Angels, stand above all. Our power, our wisdom, our existence itself is superior to all races—especially humans."

A cruel smile.

"But do not worry. You will all soon prove just how unworthy you are."

No one spoke. No one dared.

Camilla's gaze swept over them.

"Now, before I continue… do any of you wish to interrupt me again?"

More silence.

The angel nodded.

"Good. Then let us discuss the Supreme Battlefield."

Beside him, another figure appeared—a being clad in angels robes, their face partially hidden beneath a hood. They spoke with a clinical, detached tone.

"The Supreme Battlefield will last for one month. During this time, you will face danger and death. Afterward, you will be returned to Earth—but Earth will not be the same."

The angel chuckled, but the sound held no warmth.

"Earth will become a land fit only for the strong. The weak? They will perish, as they should."

A few gasps echoed. Others clenched their fists.

"Now, as for where you will live… each of you will be given a house in the Continent of the Gods. A… well, let's call it a 'home.'"

A golden screen appeared behind them, displaying crude wooden houses.

"Your homes will start as these pathetic shacks. If you wish to live comfortably, you must gather resources, grow stronger, and build something worthy of your existence."

Another smirk.

"You may even obtain subordinates. Unfortunately, they won't fight for you. But they will feed you. Clothe you. Assist you. If you live long enough to make use of them, that is."

Camilla turned, eyes narrowing at the higher ranks. His gaze lingered on Shadow, then shifted to Celestina. Then Eric. Carl.

He barely glanced at John and Jonathan.

"I look forward to watching the real fighters."

Then, he clapped his hands.

A screen appeared before everyone. Unlike the normal system messages, this one glowed a deep yellow.

[New System Activated: Supreme Battlefield]

The screen displayed:

Chat Group

Supreme Coin Balance: 100

Ranking

Store

The chat option revealed two choices:

Global Chat (1-sentence limit per day)

Regional Chat (10-sentence limit per day)

Murmurs broke out again.

"This is our chance!"

"We can grow stronger!"

"Supreme Coins… they can buy skills?"

"A wish stone? One wish? Anything?!"

Camilla clapped again.

Snap!

Everyone vanished.

Shadow's Wooden House

When Alex opened his eyes, he found himself standing in a small wooden house. The air was damp, the floor creaked, and the bed was little more than a pile of straw.

POV Eric

In another house, Eric stood still, a small smile on his lips.

His voice, low and enigmatic, carried through the empty room.

"The first rank… is already mine."

"This battlefield… is my home ground."

then he look at his talent

[ Talent: SURVIVOR ]

as he saw the description of the skill he smiled remembering the boy in the cloak

he said :CHAOS WILL BE MINE
