Chapter 2: Severed Ties

After being drugged and handed over to an old man by her father and stepmother,

Ezran Ella felt her last shred of hope for the Ezran family crumble. The betrayal by

her boyfriend and half-sister had driven the final nail into the coffin of her broken

heart. She had planned to live out her days quietly at the Ye family estate, but fate

clearly had other plans.

"Xiaoxue, no matter what happens in the future, you must stay strong. You must

avenge your grandfather. Your grandmother endured it all in silence to protect you

and your mother, but her time is running out."

The voice came from a tape recorder she had found beneath her grandmother's bed.

With her last ounce of strength, her grandmother had revealed a shocking truth:

"Your father, Ezran Kai, indirectly caused your grandfather's death for the Ye family

fortune. Xiaoxue, you must take back what belongs to us."

Ezran Ella collapsed to the ground, her face pale, her eyes vacant. The man she hadonce revered as a gentle and loving father was now the enemy who had destroyed her

family. She struggled to accept the truth.

But her thoughts were interrupted by the sound of approaching footsteps outside the

door. Startled, Ezran Ella quickly hid the recorder in her clothes, wiped the tears

from her eyes, and stood up, her expression cold and composed.

A group of burly men entered the house. Ezran Ella stepped forward, keeping her

distance. "Who are you, and what do you want here?" she asked sharply.

The leader of the group, trying to sound polite, replied, "Miss, we've been instructed

by the owner of this house to move everything out."

Ezran Ella's body stiffened. Her brows furrowed, and a flash of anger appeared in

her eyes. "Get out. No one touches anything here without my permission!" she

shouted.

The movers hesitated, exchanging unsure glances.

"I said, move everything," a deep voice interrupted. Ezran Kai entered the room with

a cold expression, his tone void of emotion. "From now on, this house belongs to the

Ezran family. You need to leave, Ella."

Her heart sank as she recalled her half-sister's cryptic words before leaving. She

glared at her father with fiery eyes. "Why?"

"Because I'm the head of this household," Ezran Kai replied coldly."Are you issuing an eviction order?" Ezran Ella's lips curled into a bitter smile.

Ezran Kai's gaze flickered briefly as he looked at her despairing expression. In the

past, he might have felt a twinge of guilt, but now, his eyes were filled only with

indifference. "Leave the capital, and I'll give you some money," he said.

"Did you ever love my mother?" Ezran Ella asked quietly, exhaustion heavy in her

voice.

The question caught Ezran Kai off guard. His brows furrowed, and he snapped,

"Don't bring her up!"

A bitter laugh escaped her lips. "You've changed. Fine. I'll leave. From this moment

on, we're no longer father and daughter." Her red-rimmed eyes burned with hatred as

an icy aura emanated from her.

"Fine." Ezran Kai's reply was curt, as if a burden had been lifted from his shoulders.

Ezran Ella clenched her fists, her voice resolute. "But remember, this is just the

beginning. Some debts can't be forgotten-they're simply waiting for the right time."

"I expect you gone soon," Ezran Kai said dismissively before turning and leaving.

As the door closed behind him, Ezran Ella stood motionless, her heart filled with

fury. "Ezran Kai, you've crossed the line. Don't blame me for what happens next."Not long after, a man in a tailored suit appeared at the gate of the Ye estate.

"Are you Ezran Ella?" he asked, his tone devoid of emotion.

"Yes. Who are you?" Ezran Ella replied warily.

"This is from my employer. Consider it payment for that night." The man extended a

gold card toward her.

Ezran Ella's expression darkened as her lips pressed into a thin line. She wanted to

throw him out and tell him she wasn't for sale. But desperation overcame her pride,

and she snatched the card without hesitation. "Who is your boss?" she demanded.

"I'm sorry. That's confidential," the man said curtly before disappearing into the night,

leaving no room for further questions.

Ezran Ella stared at the card in her hand, her lips curling into a mocking smile.

Days later, Ezran Ella boarded the earliest flight out of the capital. She had already

decided to leave, even without her father's orders. She needed time and distance to

rebuild herself and prepare for her revenge.

Three Years Later

The Imperial City loomed before her-a place filled with both fond memories and

haunting nightmares. The once-pure beauty of her youth had been replaced by a bewitching allure. Her

delicate features now carried a sultry elegance, her enchanting eyes shimmering with

an irresistible magnetism.

Ezran Ella had returned with a purpose. She would make those who had wronged

her pay. The truth behind her grandparents' deaths, her family's betrayal, and the

humiliation she endured would all be avenged.

Her first move? Su William, the most powerful man in the Imperial City. He was her

only bargaining chip, and she would stop at nothing to become his wife
