[3rd POV]

"Kyouya, you actually read books? That's really weird."

Shinji looked as if he had seen a ghost.

After all, Kyouya is in the library.

"Is it really that surprising? I'm just checking some information."

He glanced at the Records of the Three Kingdoms in his hand, then quickly looked at the information displayed on the simulator.

[You died.]

[You have completed the ending "The Falling Stars at Wuzhang Plains." You can choose one of the three basic skills.]

[Please wait while the selection is made... Selection complete.]

[You have gained the skill "Demon Brain."]

[You have ingrained the skill "Mind's Eye (True)."]

After finishing this simulation, Kyouya quickly rushed to the Fuyuki City Library. He was eager to get his hands on the Records of the Three Kingdoms.

As he flipped through the pages, his eyes scanned the characters, and even though he wasn't consciously trying to memorize anything, a flood of information filled his mind, slowly becoming impossible to forget.

This "Demon Brain" skill is like a superpower for learning!

In his past life, Zhao Tian never even looked at a single book in his life, truly wasting such potential.

Kyouya was practically "quantum reading" at this point. Even though he wasn't trying hard, the information he saw stuck with him.

It seemed like getting into Tokyo University would be a piece of cake now.

'Wait, no... my first choice has to be Hogwarts.'

"You're not being efficient reading like this. If you have any questions, just ask me directly, right?"

Shinji couldn't stand how he was treating the book so carelessly. He swiftly snatched it back as he could recite the contents of The Three Kingdoms from memory.

"What was the result of the Battle of Changban again?"

"You're asking about that?"

Shinji immediately looked at him as if he were an idiot.

"In Luo Guanzhong's novel, it was Zhao Yun who went in and out seven times to rescue A Dou, but in real history, Zhao Yun held off 5,000 of Cao's soldiers by himself, giving Lady Gan and Lady Mi the chance to escape."

As he said this, Shinji couldn't help but sigh, wondering which version was the novel and which was the real history.

The history was so dramatic that many people questioned if it was true.

In contrast, Luo Guanzhong's novel balanced things out, and the story of Zhao Yun's "seven in and seven out" became much more widely accepted.

"Then what about Sima Yi?"

"In the novel, he lived a long time, but in the official history, he died at Wuzhangyuan due to Zhuge Liang's final scheme before his death."

"I see."

What an interesting simulator.

"By the way, didn't you leave some money for me? I plan to take some out now."

"Money? You're really not going to save it? I counted on you for the investment, you know."

Shinji looked at him.

This man had been acting all mysterious recently, hanging around with Rin Tohsaka.

He wasn't thinking of stepping into the world of magecraft, was he?

"Kyouya, you should know for yourself that once the 2008 crisis hits, the prospects for virtual currency will be quite promising."

Back then, Kyouya had pointed out the subprime mortgage crisis of 2008. After Shinji confirmed it, Kyouya talked about the concept of virtual currency.

In short, after that economic crisis, many people began to lose faith in the value of the dollar and wanted to create a decentralized currency.

If Shinji could introduce this currency immediately after the crisis, he would make a huge profit whether expanding the virtual currency or cashing out.

This was the "investment" idea Shinji had proposed, and now Kyouya plans to use the money for his magecraft training.

"Money is only necessary as long as it's enough for me, but now I'm at the point where it's not enough."

"Not enough? Don't tell me..."

"Yes, I've been learning magic with Rin Tohsaka recently."

Magecraft is a secret that needs to be hidden, but the person in front of him comes from a family of magus, and he doesn't bother to keep it a secret.

"You... sigh~ I'll prepare the money for you, but don't become too much of a magus, Kyouya."

"I understand, thanks for your help."

He left, and Shinji let out a sigh of relief.

"He's really good at everything. If this was me before, I probably would have been insanely jealous."

Shinji said with sarcasm.

He came from a family of magicians but didn't have the qualifications to become one. Without a magic circuit, it was pretty much certain he had no talent for magic.

However...

"Is she finally here?"

Shinji looked at the woman in the distance, carrying a long, narrow box.

She was the one he had been waiting for, a highly skilled and powerful mage Puppeteer.

"Matou-kun? I didn't expect… you're quite young."

Touko Aozaki said, gazing at him in surprise that the person with so many creative ideas was such a young guy.

"You're too kind. The main reason I sought out Miss Aozaki is for that matter."

Shinji replied.

"An artificial magic circuit? That's quite an audacious idea."

She remarked, drawing a rune in mid-air, and a barrier to dispel any unwanted visitors appeared.

"It's not artificial magic circuits, but a substitute for magic circuits,"

Shinji flipped through the books in his home, certainly not making any basic mistakes.

The so-called "mana" was simply a manifestation of a life force. As long as he was still alive, it meant that there was mana within him.

He lacked the key to activating that mana—magic circuits.

"Ultimately, a magic circuit is just a simulation of nerves, acting as a filter to link the small source inside the body with the larger source of the world. This thing doesn't necessarily need to exist inside the body."

An external organ.

She had heard of such theories before, but the risks were huge.

However, if it were something like a magic circuit, even if something went wrong, it wouldn't be too problematic.

"The key lies in stability."

Touko Aozaki didn't deny Shinji Matou's talent.

This was indeed an unexplored field.

For magus or mage, "keeping secrets" is crucial.

No one would casually study artificial circuits that allow ordinary people to use magic.

Now, it seemed like Touko might be stepping into this field.

"What's in it for me to agree to something that could let ordinary people learn magic?"

As a magician, Touko had no reason to do such thankless work.

"What do you want?"

"Pay more."
