Chapter 4 - Invincible Greg

Everton brain snapped an idea lose, this was it.

He rewined the clock and watch the count down on his go off.

"There we are free, from what ever red mark Herald spoke about." Everton said.

"Where's the queens sister, you know, miss don't think about anything else." Kyle asked.

"I guess we're back to two again."

Everton patted his shoulder.

They needed some shut eye. Kyle especially. He was younger.

"Go to bed I will keep watch."

As Kyle slept Everton thought on the encounter between him and the king. He had lighting speed.

He needed to find the portal and get out of here, everything that happened here bothered him.

His head ached and he needed someone or something to talk to.

"You can not hide your feelings from me young man." A voice said.

Everton spinned round.

"Stop you will only hurt yourself, I am the imaginary voice inside your head.

You know the one that talks before the person finally goes nuts."

Everton laughed.

"Sure if you insist." Everton said.

Everton sat in silence, he was thought to be the family's genius. The responsible one.

But he held secrets his family was yet to discover.

He has failed in his studies.

With so many failures in each passing year . His grades were shamefully low.

He wondered what his proud mother would do when she found out about the truth.

That he was not graduating this year. Perhaps it was better to live in the game, where he would be free from that shame.

Look at his physical body, although he was now black, he did not need glasses to see, or his crutches to walk.

He was free. All he needed to do was defeat King Herald so everyone can live happily in Nowheres land.

He needed a plan.

The next morning...

"Did you see that?." King Herald spoke to his reflection.

"Someone came from some place, to challenge your authority.

And you stood there looking like a looser."

The reflection laughed.

"Oh this is funny to you is it not." The reflection nodded.

"One day you will look back at all the destruction you caused your sister the queen, and you will weep."

The reflection said.

King Herald sat on his throne of thorns.

Was his reflection right. "Of course not, he was like a cat, he had nine lives, nothing could destroy him.

He just needed to find the portal before anyone else."

In there hide out Everton felt sleep calling him urgently, he could not deny or shut the doors, he had to sleep even if it was just for a split second.

"You can't sleep yet." The voice in Evertons head, taking him off guard while he fell off the bed.

"You need to go back to king Heralds palace." The voice said.

"Why on earth would I do that?, we barely escaped. Everton responded.

"I have a feeling that you are not just an ordinary voice in my head.

My guts are never wrong, who are you exactly?."

Kyle was still asleep.

Everton stood up his sparkled with blue lightening. The anger within him rose. "Who are you?, I will not ask again." He said.

Everton listened to the silence. And he heard footsteps but saw no one. He chased after the sound.

Leaving Kyle alone unguarded.

He jumped on the footsteps.

"Ouch!." The creature yelled. "Let go you caught me."

Everton smiled. "Now tell me who you are and what u want."

The creature shrieked, it was a trickster, it lured unsuspecting creatures to there death. It pointed to Evertons back.

"Oh amazing so now you can't speak. I thought every creature came to life at midnight.

Oh no something is behind me isn't it?." The creature nodded.

Everton turned around it was king Herald.

"You have a lot to learn about this place young man, allow me to teach you the hard way."

He knocked Everton out, leaving Kyle alone still sleeping.

"Do you remember this place?" King Herald asked. "This is my palace, I was made this way; I was not born like this.

With claws, no I was adorable.

But my cousin just had to experiment and her science plunged me here." King Herald narrated in anger.

Everton raised his hand.

"No one cares. Men, I'm begining to speak like Kyle lately." He remarked.

The guard led the creatures to war, he was born for this moment, unlike the 'queen' he had the heart of a warrior.

"I am giving you one last chance." The guard said.

"Join us or when we win I will banish you to the unknown, this land has so many zones, you will live with the animated ones.

The guard sneered.

"You all will regret this, King Herald and his army will burn you to ashes."

"Don't heed to her, you are a disgrace to your people.

With all the powers you command you can't even lead an army to victory."

He spat on her feet. The creatures moved forward at the guards command.

The queen Diana was pricked in her heart for there downfall. Esmaralda stayed with her.

In king Heralds palace, Everton was ready for a fight.

But when Herald fell suddenly, the mirror giggled.

Everton smiled and ran. He was completely lost it was like a circle.

Everton fell.

"Dude, you said you will keep watch." Kyle exclaimed they hugged.

"You used the clock?." Everton asked and Kyle nodded.

The guard stormed into the kings palace with the people.

"I challenge you to a battle, last man standing wins." The guard said confidently.

Everton shook his head. This was going to end badly for them. He thought.

"I am a king, and I will choose the kind of battle and the rules."

Everton shook his head, signifying to the guard that he should refuse.

"I accept!" Everton hit his head with his hand.

"I will announce it at dawn, right now, would you be so kind as to honour the royal chambers by spending the night in it?.'

The guard nodded.

"This guy has a plan." Kyle said.

"Stop stating the obvious it's annoying." Everton responded, his heart beating under pressure.

"I accept your challenge, and your offer." The king smiled.
