Chapter 12 - Achievements and memories

"Congratulations, young deity!" — Vez exclaimed as soon as Sete opened her eyes, his good morning mood always a source of great irritation to Spring. — "You've successfully completed the emergency mission and also met the requirements to earn rewards for the achievements [Looting Servants of Corruption] and [Purification Begins]!"

"What did I get this time?" — The girl asked, sitting up and scratching her eyes. She was still getting used to these human needs, like sleeping and eating. Everything was very strange, and the boys found some of the things she did or said funny. — "I hope it's nothing useless."

The System was silent for a few seconds, as if processing Sete's last statement.

She, for her part, tried to tidy her hair with her hands while blinking her green eyes. Waking up was always like this, her light brown strands tousled and her eyelids heavy.

"Each of the cumulative achievements earned 50 coins for the seed store, and the four servants of the End earned ten coins each, for a total of 140 coins!" — Vez's robotic conscience seemed to shrink in fear at the deadly look that Sete cast its way. — "The coins are very useful! With them you can buy seeds of extremely useful plants, whose potential is infinite through their powers!"

The System made it clear how useful the rewards were.

"It's going to be a bit difficult to reach that unlimited potential while my powers are so limited, don't you think?" — The young woman retorted bitterly without waiting for an answer, got up and started rummaging through her backpack of supplies.

As they had been wandering for over a week, food had already started to run low. Sete never thought she would worry about something so mundane, yet she feared that the boys — who were still sleeping — would have a hard time.

She had only lived with Kai and Thomas for a short time, but now, after recovering 2% of her divinity, she felt that the way they interacted and looked after each other reminded her of what it was like to be around the other seasons.

Sete tried to disguise it because she had to be tough and look after the younger ones, but she had been feeling a nagging pain in the back of her throat. She had never been so human, so she didn't know what that meant, she was only sure that she really did recover fragments of her memories with her divinity.

For example, she knew that the bond that united her to those three was deep and unbreakable. And that perhaps that was one of the reasons they were in this situation now. There were also those wretched Gods, who had thrown them into this destroyed world full of bad things. Things that were made even worse because they weren't together.

It's probably because we've become so close and rebellious that we're in this situation, so it kind of makes sense that they'd separate us, in a terrible way. Sete thought, looking up at the orange dawn sky. I don't know what kind of stupid rule prevented us from spying on the world or getting together, we've never done anything wrong.

The girl's anger deepened with every thought, until she was roused from her ramblings by the sound of the boys waking up.

They needed to move soon, both to get more supplies and to escape the E.G.O. agents, who were able to track them through the ripples of power caused when their abilities were put to the test. The trio had gone unnoticed until now because their powers were in such bad shape, but the soldiers' radars were becoming increasingly sensitive.
