Chapter 48 - Chapter 48: You Can't Escape

Inside, there was an orc lounging with one leg crossed over the other, looking extremely relaxed.

As Corvinus glanced in, the orc inside also happened to look his way.

Their eyes met.

Female orc!

No, more precisely, a very attractive female werewolf.

Thud...

The moment the female werewolf saw Corvinus, she jumped up like a frightened rabbit, and the stool beneath her was kicked over.

"Hey, what do you think you're doing?" the female werewolf glared at Corvinus aggressively.

However, there was a hint of something unusual in her emerald green, beautiful eyes.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you. I'm here to buy this property," Corvinus said with a smile.

"Buy a house?" Agif was taken aback for a moment, and then her fierce expression instantly turned into a smile. "Welcome, welcome! Our restaurant is in a great location. We wouldn't be selling it if we weren't in urgent need of money. You won't regret buying it."

"Alright, I see. May I take a look?" Corvinus asked with a smile.

"Of course, you can!"

Corvinus inspected the place from the first floor to the fifth floor and found that all the chairs and benches were still there. The classical and grand decoration was still in good condition. Moreover, behind the large kitchen on the first floor, there was a very spacious courtyard.

He was very satisfied overall.

"Not bad. I'll take it. I wonder if your boss is around?" Corvinus asked.

"Boss? I am the boss!" Agif quickly said.

Corvinus was taken aback for a moment, then he looked at the female werewolf in front of him. By his intuition, she should be older than him, but probably not by many years.

She owned this restaurant?

Corvinus found it hard to believe.

"Why don't you trust me? Look, this is the deed to the restaurant. If you want to buy it, I can go to the town hall with you to transfer the deed," Agif took out a piece of animal hide and threw it at Corvinus, speaking with pride.

Corvinus took a look. It seemed genuine. Although he didn't really understand, the fact that she was willing to go to the town hall to transfer the deed made it seem legitimate.

"I'll buy it. Let's go to the town hall now to transfer the deed!"

"Sure!"

...

At the town hall, Corvinus and Agif walked out.

The deed to the restaurant now belonged to Corvinus.

"Boss, are you still hiring waitstaff? I'm very hardworking," Agif looked at Corvinus and asked.

"Waitstaff?" Corvinus looked at the woman strangely. Why would he need waitstaff?

"No, I'm not hiring," Corvinus replied directly, preparing to head back to Casa Restaurant.

"Ah...!!"

Agif's face fell instantly. Seeing Corvinus's retreating figure, she quickly caught up and blocked his path.

"What else do you want?" Corvinus asked, puzzled.

"You're running a restaurant; can't you just hire me? I'm really very diligent."

"I don't have anywhere to go now. Boss, please show some mercy... sniffle..." Agif said with a look of grievance, rubbing her eyes as she spoke.

"Running a restaurant? Who told you I'm running a restaurant?" Corvinus was taken aback.

Agif, who had been rubbing her eyes and looking grievance, asked in surprise, "If not running a restaurant, then what are you doing?"

Corvinus glanced at Agif but didn't answer. Instead, he turned around and left directly.

My house, I can do whatever I want. I don't need to tell you.

Strange woman!

"Humph, the person I've set my sights on won't just let you run away," Agif muttered, watching Corvinus disappear into the crowd. She clenched her small fists and waved them in the air.

"However, not running a restaurant is such a waste!"

Agif grumbled to herself and then disappeared into the crowd as well.

...

Casa Restaurant!

When Corvinus announced that he had bought Casa Restaurant, Tyton and the others were extremely surprised.

However, after a brief moment of astonishment, they quickly got down to organizing.

After the organization was complete, Corvinus took Tyton and the others to buy some bedding.

The beds were simple; they just pushed all the dining tables together to form a large bed.

His werewolf and boar men slept on the fourth and third floors, respectively, while the fifth floor became his private bedroom.

During this time, Corvinus also bought a large amount of grain because some of his werewolves could cook, and with the kitchen in the backyard of the restaurant, they could be self-sufficient.

There was also food for the war wolves. The backyard was spacious enough to accommodate the fifty-odd war wolves comfortably.

After taking care of all these, Corvinus took Cadia, Tyton, and Gava, the boar man, to stroll around the nearby streets and get a general idea of the area around Casa Restaurant.

As night fell, and after a long day of travel, Corvinus returned to the restaurant and fell asleep.

The next morning!

Agif arrived at Casa Restaurant. As she was about to walk in confidently, she was blocked by two werewolves at the entrance.

"Miss, this is no longer a restaurant. It's now a private residence," one of the werewolves said politely.

"I'm not here to eat. I'm looking for someone!" Agif said, trying to peer inside, but to her disappointment, she didn't see the figure she was hoping to see.

"Looking for someone?" The two werewolves were taken aback.

"Yes, I'm looking for Corvinus... Yes, Corvinus," Agif said, thinking she had remembered the name correctly from the deed transfer yesterday.

"Looking for the... young master?" The two werewolves looked Agif up and down.

"What is it?" At that moment, Tyton came down the stairs and asked the two guards.

"Leader, this young lady is looking for the young master!"

Looking for the chief?

A beautiful werewolf?

Tyton came to the entrance and recognized Agif immediately. She was the one who had sold the restaurant to their chief yesterday.

Did she want to back out of the deal?

"What do you want with our young master?" Tyton asked.

It had to be said that the woman in front of him was definitely the most beautiful werewolf female he had ever seen.

Well-dressed and graceful in her demeanor!

"That's none of your business. Just bring out your young master!" Agif said.

"I'm afraid our young master is not here," Tyton shook his head. He had checked the fifth floor, and Corvinus was not there. He must have gone out.

"Not here?" Agif was a bit disappointed, but then she said, "It's okay, I'll wait for him."

"Also, aren't you going to invite me in to wait? After all, I am a distinguished guest of your young master."

Tyton thought for a moment and nodded to the two werewolves.

The two werewolves stepped aside, and Agif quickly ran inside.

...

In the eastern part of the city, at a wine shop.

Corvinus walked into the wine shop. He had woken up early today to investigate the wine market because last night during dinner, he noticed that a pound of wine on the menu cost five silver coins.

A whole second-tier magical beast could be roasted for less than five silver coins.

Wine was expensive!

The wine shop in front of him was not the first he had visited; it was already the twenty-somethingth one.

He found that wine was expensive and there were only three types available.

In any case, among so many shops, he had only discovered three types of wine. He had tasted all three, and while each had its own unique flavor, none of them were particularly pleasant to him. He just couldn't get used to them.

The wine here was likely fermented, as in over twenty wine shops, he hadn't found any signs of distilled spirits.

If there were no distilled spirits in the entire canyon, he felt he could make a fortune.

Because he had made distilled spirits before, and even without the system's information, he could still do it.
