These few days he had been observing Allby's behavior, the boy was sometimes not seen at home. Or returned at night sneaking around, telling his parents he was busy with school work. It was not promising.
The rumors about him being a bad brother had spread for a long time. Although it didn't have much effect, it persisted until now. I don't know what kind of story his brother was selling.
"Isn't this too much? Talking about you leaving him behind when you go to school, even though you never ride in the same car. There he is gnawing on you, how shameless!" Davon was angry, vigorously berating this one bitch in front of Alvero who could still look casual.
"It's in his nature to create drama. Only I won't play in it," Alvero retorted to Davon's satisfied applause.
"Haha, you're right! The audience that enjoys that cheap acting really has good taste, huh." Patting Alvero's shoulder, his friend went back to his seat as soon as the teacher entered the classroom.
"Yeah, stay strong, Al. I know you're capable," Davon said encouragingly.
Alvero's face may not have changed much. However, for himself Davon was the only friend from childhood that he trusted, of course his genuine concern touched his heart, but he was reluctant to show his pleasure.
Davon chuckled as he turned his head to see a line of Alvero's smile rising. Thankfully his friend was still in a good mood. Lately approaching the Midterm exams, it certainly put more pressure on Alvero who always put pressure on himself.
No matter how many times he was advised, if it wasn't Davon who found out that he had a nosebleed and hadn't eaten all day, he would probably faint. Even had to be fed because the food would have been left idle.
Plus the rumors about him are getting worse. It's his family that's too rotten! Their own children are like stepchildren, it's the turn of useless children to be worshiped. Moreover, Alvero was still being terrorized by various blue mail from the sender even though they had guessed who it was. Alvero insisted on waiting for the person to come out himself.
He couldn't wait for the stalker. Even without Alvero acting, Davon would come forward first.
. . .
He was just about to turn the toilet cubicle door when he heard the sound of someone entering. A voice he recognized.
"Has your brother been bothering you lately? Isn't the exam approaching? It's crazy that he looks so good and noble, but his attitude is secretly so despicable," someone joked as he entered the restroom.
"As long as the person is handsome, they will be liked," said another.
"'You can't say things like that. I'm just saying that maybe my brother hasn't been in a good mood lately, even though he's sometimes rude when I ask him questions, but he's still my brother," he squeaked in a low voice that contained a defense, but his tone seemed to be complaining.
"Really, you still consider him a brother. He even slammed your hand down when you asked him a question, didn't he? So temperamental!"
"That's right, he won't lend you his notes to study either. So stingy!" The other chants Davon didn't want to hear.
You guys are crazy, Davon cursed inwardly. He wanted to just walk out by kicking the door. However, thinking of that bitch's sanctimonious mouth he might spread another rumor about Alvero even if Davon acted.
Really, they say people only favor the handsome. Don't they realize that that bitch if using her handsome innocence to incite people? What a "good boy" charm.
The faint sound of the gossiping voice was getting farther away. Davon came out of the toilet cubicle intending to return to class even though the lesson was about to end.
He stepped hurriedly. He opened the back door loudly. "Al!" he called, making the whole class turn their heads, not just Alvero.
However, Davon's voice was thunderous especially with his ragged breathing as if he was going to eat someone. "What's wrong with you, hmm?" Alvero glanced at him briefly before going back to filling in the problems in his assignment book.
Fortunately, there was no teacher around so their ruckus didn't result in a scolding. Davon sat next to Alvero, the boy didn't have a seatmate.
It's not that Davon doesn't want to be Alvero's seatmate. However, the boy rejected him many times on the grounds that he was too noisy. He only likes to tell stories, not make noise!
Cradling his head in his cupped hands, Davon leaned against the desk staring at the person who was focused on his studies. "Do you know what I heard in the restroom?"
Alvero's brows furrowed, but didn't speak as if waiting for a follow-up. "He was really the mastermind, saying that you were rude to the point of knocking him down just for wanting to say hi to you. Not even wanting to lend you a note. Really, you should get out of that toxic family as soon as possible!"
Hearing Davon's half-whispered narration, though his voice could still be clearly heard. Davon was accustomed to a floor voice when speaking, his face was full of enthusiasm when smiling that could make people blush.
However, every time he came to Alvero, if he wasn't upset, he was angry. Although he clearly knew who could make Davon annoyed when it came to him. "I doubt that's where the plan ends. Lately he's been at home, mom is even worried that he's been studying too much with his friends. In the middle of the night I saw him sneaking in as if he had finished planning something," explained Alvero finally willing to tell Davon.
"You're only telling me now? No wonder." Davon looked at him sharply as if demanding. It was certain that this big baby would sulk.
"What else haven't you told me why, huh?" Under that suspicious gaze Alvero could only let out a tired sigh.
He had no intention of hiding anything, Davon knew all about him. Ah, maybe there was one. "That letter he asked me to meet in the afternoon," he murmured as if in doubt which of course was immediately met with another sigh.
"He's really out, huh? Do you need me to accompany you to meet that one bug?" Davon had already turned around preparing his bag to come along.
"No, I don't. I still have archery extracurriculars, after that I'll meet him," Alvero replied immediately seeing the illusion of both puppy ears drooping on Davon's head.
"What time did he ask you to meet?" Isn't it too long a wait for that person, what if he leaves first before Alvero arrives? Several scenarios flashed through his brain.
"It's not what you think, he asked me to meet at 5pm, there's still time for me. Also, he asked to meet in the men's restroom," he said, making the desperately bowed head turn back up to stare in wonder.
"Hey, what a romantic declaration of love in a fucking restroom! I really don't understand how gays think," Davon chuckled dissatisfiedly. Alvero just looked at him for a moment before shrugging his shoulders saying he didn't know.
Getting a refusal of course Davon would not insist. He went straight home after parting ways with Alvero who was going to his club room.
. . .
A corn of sweat appeared on the man's temple. Alvero wiped off the sweat with a towel before changing back into his Do-gi with school uniform. Greeting a few other members, he walked towards the restroom in question.
It looked deserted while one cubicle at the end was open. It seemed like the person was inside. "Come out, don't waste my time," Alvero said making the body that was only half visible tremble with his cold tone.
The appearance of a person with glasses perched on his nose, looking thick especially with the bangs covering it. Like a cowardly nerd, but the stalker's attitude was very annoying.
