Alice, feeling unwell, went downstairs and headed towards the back door. She hailed a car and left. Bella immediately followed in her own car. Alice was definitely going to see Mia. Bella couldn't persuade Alice, but she could certainly drive Mia away.
When Alice arrived at Mia's place, she went upstairs and used her key to open the door. Mia was coming out of the room. "Alice?" Alice breathed a sigh of relief and closed the door. "Mom, are you guys okay?"
"We're fine. The baby just fell asleep. What happened to you? I've been trying to reach you."
Alice hurried into the room to check on the baby. Seeing the sleeping child on the bed, she hugged and kissed him/her, feeling relieved. "I was discovered by Adam."
Mia was shocked. "Didn't you say Ethan would help you?"
"He's the one who told Adam, and it got me into trouble," Alice said, still angry at the thought. If it weren't for Ethan's help, she might have escaped.
"What do we do now?" Mia asked, feeling helpless.
"I don't know. My passport and ID were taken away again," Alice said, kissing Lily's face.
Mia sighed, also at a loss. "I'm wondering if it's possible to live in Star City without being discovered by Adam," Alice said, almost talking to herself, but also asking her mother.
"Isn't that very careful?"
Exiting the room and closing the door behind her, Bella asked, "Did you wait long that night? Was the child disappointed?"
"No, we weren't disappointed, just worried about Mom. You said if you didn't come back in three hours, we should go home. Nothing happened," replied Alice.
"Good. I can't stay here for too long. I'll come back later tonight to keep them company," Alice said.
"Okay, be careful."
Bella watched Alice leave from inside the car. She didn't know where Mia lived, but she hated going into that woman's house, so she decided to wait in the car.
She didn't believe Mia wouldn't come out!
Bella was patient and waited for almost an hour before she saw Mia come out of the building to throw away the trash.
"Mia!"Mia was startled and panicked when she saw Bella approaching her aggressively.
"Don't you want to say hello to your sister-in-law?" Bella walked up to her and stood in front of her, asking.
Mia didn't dare to run away because there were children upstairs. What if Bella chased her?
"What do you want?"
"That's a good question. I'll tell you what I want. Stay away from Alice and disappear forever! What right do you have to appear in front of her?"
"It was an accidental encounter..." Mia replied.
"I don't care if you meant it or not, get out of here right now!"
"Don't use such harsh words." Mia's face didn't look good.
"Oh, you have some self-respect? Since you left, you and the Baker Family have nothing to do with each other, including Alice. Do you understand?" Bella pointed her finger at her as a warning. "I'll give you one day to move out of here. You can go wherever you want, just don't let Alice find you."
"This is my home. I have nowhere else to go, and I won't listen to you."Bella seemed to hear a century-old joke. "Are you addicted to being a mom? You're so stubborn."
Mia's eyes flickered, but she didn't say anything.
"Mia, let's part on good terms. Don't make a scene, it won't look good."
"You're the one who won't look good, not me." Mia retorted.
"What did you say?" Bella's eyes immediately turned vicious.
"You're just afraid I'll expose your secrets!"
Bella tried hard to control her urge to hit someone. What secrets? Was this woman threatening her?
"Bella, I don't mean anything else. I know what to say and what not to say. I just hope you won't kick me out." Mia pleaded.
"It's impossible! You have to disappear from Alice's sight!" Bella disagreed.
"Then there's nothing more to say." Mia didn't look at her again and turned to leave.
Bella was so angry that she kicked over the nearby trash can. A sour smell came out, almost making her nauseous. She immediately went to her car.Bella couldn't swallow her anger after returning home. How could she let Mia shamelessly come back again? She had to cut off Mia's contact with Alice! Alice had gone to Mia's place in the middle of the night. Mia didn't say anything when she saw her. In the morning, when Lily woke up and saw her mother sleeping, her eyes lit up like light bulbs. "Mom..." she whispered. Alice didn't move, mainly because she was too tired. Her body hadn't fully recovered. Isaac and Kevin woke up one after another and crawled over to their mother. Kevin covered her with the blanket from left to right and then obediently lay down next to her. Lily stared at her mother's face and said, "Mom, it's been a long time since we snuggled..." She leaned in and kissed her mother's lips. After the kiss, she covered her face and giggled, bouncing happily on her short legs. "I want to kiss too!" Isaac leaned in. "Me too!" Kevin fought for his turn. As a result, the two of them pressed on their mother's head together. "...??" Alice was awakened and opened her sleepy eyes. The three little ones were staring at her with puzzled faces. She reached out and patted them on the head, then closed her eyes again. "You're awake..."
"Mom!" The three little cats saw that Mom had woken up and surrounded her.
Alice smiled with her eyes closed, feeling soft and cute being surrounded by the three little cats.
Isaac thought of something, got off the bed, went out of the room,and saw Grandma. He asked, "Grandma, Mom woke up, do you have anything for her? I'll take it to her."
"Very good, here's boiled water and boiled eggs, peeled and ready to eat, one for each person."
"I'll take some to Mom!" Isaac held the bowl with four boiled eggs and ran to the room. He came to the bed unsteadily and said, "Mom, eat the eggs!"
Alice turned over, squinted and smiled, "Mom hasn't brushed her teeth yet..."
"It doesn't matter, brush them later!" Kevin picked up an egg and stuffed it into Mom's mouth.
Alice opened her mouth and took a bite.
"I can eat it in one bite too!" Isaac said as he tried to stuff the whole egg into his mouth.
Alice suddenly became clear-headed and stopped him, "You can't do that!"
"Why not?" Isaac was puzzled.
"You're still young, you might choke." Alice thought to herself, if she had known, she wouldn't have bitten the egg in one go. They might not have swallowed it in one bite, but what if the egg slipped down their throat?
"Mom, my mouth is too small, I can't fit the egg in..." Lily opened her mouth, but the egg was too big.
"If it doesn't fit, take small bites." Alice peeled off some egg white and fed it to her.
Lily shook her head happily.
Four people finished eating four boiled eggs in bed before getting up to wash up. Afterwards, the three kids remembered they were supposed to take a flight, but Alice brushed it off and said they would do it another time. Fortunately, the children were easily appeased and soon they were playing and laughing with their mother.
