Chapter 45 - Chapter 45 What do you want to do?

"What are you doing?" Alice leaned over and saw her mother frying eggs, shaping them into cute little animal heads. She couldn't help but laugh, "You don't have to go through all this trouble, they're like little pigs and not picky eaters."

"They may not be picky, but I want to see them happy!"

Alice's heart warmed, and she forgave her mother's actions. No mother doesn't love her own child, there must be some hardship that forced her to do so!

Besides, she knew what her parents' life was like when they were together. Her father was irresponsible at home, not considerate of his wife's efforts to take care of the children and the household, and even went gambling. When he lost, he drank and became violent, even taking the money meant for buying rice and using it to gamble.

One time, when her mother tried to stop him, he beat her so badly that her head was bleeding and one of her eyes was almost blinded, leaving her body bruised and battered.

Alice was scared and could only hold her mother's hand tightly to give her warmth, unable to do anything else.

How could she be selfish and not allow her mother to seek her own happiness?

Now that she's grown up, she should take responsibility for her mother's later years.

She hugged her mother from behind, "Mom, thank you for still being alive, it's great."

Mia's eyes were moist, but she didn't say anything.

At the dining table, the three little ones were eating their omelets obediently, their little mouths pouting cutely.

Alice looked at their adorable faces and her heart melted.

"Grandma is so amazing, the eggs are so cute!" Lily giggled.

"That's why our Isaac, Kevin, and Lily all grew up eating 'cuteness'." Mia smiled.

"Lily, like this?" Lily put down her fork, propped her chin up with her little hands, and looked like a flower.

"Yes, that's right." Mia patted her little head, just as cute as Alice when she was a child.

Kevin ate delicately with his chubby face.

Isaac, on the other hand, ate more wildly, completely focused on his food, not caring about what others said, slurping his noodles up into the air.

"Mom, can we come to your workplace to play?" Kevin asked.

"Huh?" Alice smiled gently. "Children can't go to Mommy's workplace."

Isaac stopped eating and blinked his big eyes. "Can we just stand at the door and not go in?"

"Can we, Mommy?" Lily looked at Alice with hopeful eyes.

Alice hesitated. She didn't want to be found out by Adam, so she didn't go anywhere, not even to the downstairs neighborhood after dark.

"How about this? When Mommy's work isn't so busy in a couple of days, I'll take you out to play, okay?" Alice made a decision after thinking for a moment.

"What do you want to play?" Isaac was excited.

"You can play whatever you want." Alice smiled.

"Yay!"

Alice looked at them, her eyes full of love.

After spending time with the children, Alice kissed each of their little faces before leaving.Lily was immediately dissatisfied, "Kiss, Mommy wants a kiss~~"

Alice smiled helplessly and leaned in to give the pouting little mouth a kiss, finally satisfying her.

In the morning, the three children were lying on foam mats on the ground, drawing. Their chubby little feet were swinging back and forth, looking adorable.

Mia was doing housework, bringing in the clothes that had been hung outside to dry and sitting next to the children to fold them. Seeing the children's happy faces, she wished they could stay like this forever.

However, this simple happiness was not meant to be...

Her phone, which was placed on the table, rang.

"Grandma, the phone is ringing!" Isaac raised his hand to inform her.

"Okay, Grandma will go check." Mia put down the clothes in her hands and got up to answer the phone. Seeing an unfamiliar number, she answered, "Who is this?"

"Of course it's me, Bella."

"If there's nothing important, I'm hanging up..."

"Do you remember how Ruan Fuzhong died?" Bella asked in a hurry.

Mia panicked and went to check on the children, grabbing the edge of the table to try to calm herself down. "He...he died? I didn't know."

"On the dark and windy night on the Yin Yang Mountain, do you really not remember?" Bella said.

Mia's face turned pale. "You..."

"Unfortunately, I saw it that night."

"What do you want?"

"Isn't it clear? Leave Alice, the farther the better. Don't ever come back in this lifetime! Yao, you have three days to decide whether to leave or go to jail."

The phone had been disconnected for quite some time, and Mia hadn't come back to her senses yet. Memories that had been buried for years, she thought were hidden well. But she didn't expect to be discovered by Bella... What should she do? Should she leave? Mia looked at the children playing and frolicking, her eyes were moist. Why does fate always seem to be against her...

When Alice finished work and returned to the changing room, she picked up her phone and saw that her mother had called twice. This scared her a little, so she quickly called back, "Mom, what's wrong?"

"Nothing, the kids are doing well."

Alice breathed a sigh of relief and laughed at herself, "Ever since I had kids, I've been so jumpy."

"All moms are like that..." Mia paused and said, "Alice, do you want to find a daycare for the kids? Keeping them at home all the time isn't a solution..."

Alice thought to herself, could it be that her mother was saying this because she was tired of taking care of the kids? Thinking of Aunt Charlotte from before, she felt that she had been doing things wrong.

"Okay, I'll look for a good daycare."

After returning home, Alice searched online. There were many daycares in Star City, but she wanted to find one with good conditions. She knew that whether the conditions were good or not, it all depended on money.

Alice found a daycare affiliated with a prestigious university in Star City. It had good privacy, high security, and most importantly, an interview was required. Otherwise, it wouldn't do.

After looking at the price, Alice felt her wallet crying at the thought of spending ten thousand yuan per month. She called and wasanswered by the principal's assistant, who allowed her to come over at night. The principal was busy until late at night, even though he was the principal. So that night, Alice brought her three children with her. The assistant was waiting at the door and personally escorted them upstairs. "Thank you so much. I have to work during the day," Alice said as they walked in. "It's no problem. Our duty is to alleviate parents' concerns," Li Xi said, smiling at the three chubby little friends, who were walking quickly with their short legs. Alice thought to herself that she had a lot of concerns indeed! The hallway was very quiet. The secretary knocked on the office door, and when they went in, Alice saw a man sitting behind a desk wearing glasses and buried in work. He was wearing a white shirt with a vest on top and had a handsome face that made people feel comfortable. Alice thought he was an old principal, but he was surprisingly young, probably around thirty years old. The principal looked up and saw the mother and her three children in front of him, and a glint flashed across his glasses. Alice quickly stepped forward and handed him a gift box, saying, "This is just a small token of our appreciation."
