Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: You really disappoint me

Alice was more composed than before as she walked towards the slightly stunned Zhao. He thought Alice was Adam's woman, so why was she suddenly being passed on to him? He found it strange but didn't say anything.

After sitting down, Alice skillfully poured a drink for Zhao, who insisted on pouring it himself and didn't pour one for Alice. This was the first time Alice had been pushed into a group of men like this, but it was also the first time she had seen someone like Zhao who didn't make any moves on her.

She couldn't help but take a closer look at Zhao and realized that she had seen him on TV before. It made sense; could anyone who associated with Adam have an ordinary job? Clearly, Zhao was being cautious because of Adam, and Alice was overthinking it. Adam would love nothing more than to see her suffer more humiliation.

Alice clinked glasses with Zhao and drank the contents of her cup. She wondered where Adam would take her if she got drunk. She hoped it would be the Imperial Garden so she could steal her passport and ID card. She was eager to return to her children.

So, Alice let loose and drank with Zhao. "You...you can hold your liquor pretty well," Zhao said, slightly surprised.Adam, who had been silently observing Alice, had deep, sharp, black eyes that seemed to want to nail her to the ground.

Alice kept drinking and ignored Mr. Zhao, lost in her own thoughts and purpose. As long as she didn't drink herself to death, she didn't care. Despite her average tolerance for alcohol, Alice quickly became disoriented and dropped her glass, spilling the drink on her shoes. With a flushed face and pouting lips, she complained, "How annoying..."

She reached for the bottle on the table, but before she could grab it, a force grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards them. "Ah... What are you doing? It hurts..." she cried out.

"You think you can get away with being drunk and fooling around? Hm?" Adam's face twisted with displeasure as he tightened his grip on her wrist, which felt like an iron chain. "Whatever. Does it matter? Doesn't being drunk make me more obedient?" Alice tried to break free, but Adam's grip only tightened, causing her to cry out in pain.

"Indeed, being drunk makes it easier to manipulate your body," Adam said with a devilish voice, letting go of her wrist.

Alice almost fell off the couch. Everyone around them remained silent.

Alice tried to reach for the bottle again, but she fell to the ground, completely drunk. Adam looked down at her with cold indifference, as if he were observing something unrelated to him.

Adam took Alice out to humiliate her by making her accompany a man to drink. But as she was already drunk, torturing her was no longer enjoyable.

On the way back in the Rolls-Royce, Alice fell asleep and suddenly felt her stomach churning. Her head tilted to the side and she vomited all over the seat, armrest, carpet, and almost onto Adam's black shoes.

Adam's face turned dark and gloomy.

Alice, still drunk, was oblivious to the terrifying atmosphere in the car and continued to vomit until she had emptied her stomach. She then comfortably leaned back in her seat and fell asleep again.

Adam's temples throbbed with anger and he felt the urge to kill.

However, Alice woke up to see the sun the next day.

She woke up with a splitting headache, lying on the carpet near the door, as if she had been thrown in like garbage.

She knew who was responsible for this.

Alice sat up and the familiar surroundings reminded her that she was in the Imperial Garden. It was a good opportunity for her, as if heaven had taken pity on her!

Alice tidied herself up in the bathroom and went downstairs.

Daniel walked over and said, "Miss Baker, breakfast is ready."

"Where is Adam?" Alice asked.

"Mr. Davis has gone out," the servant replied.

Alice nodded and went to the dining room to have some food. She wondered where Adam could have hidden her passport if he had taken it. It could be in his room or in the study. She would have to take a chance.

After finishing her meal, Alice avoided the servant and went to the study. The door was unlocked, and she quickly closed it behind her. The study was large and minimalist, with a cold and oppressive atmosphere that still bore Adam's presence.

Alice held her breath and searched the desk and drawers, but found nothing. She then turned her attention to the bookshelves and began to search through the piles of books.

Her fingers paused when she saw a dark red object next to a thick book. It was her passport, with her ID card tucked inside. She felt both relieved and excited. As long as she left before Adam found out, and without her phone's location, he wouldn't be able to catch her...

Alice was thinking about where to hide her passport when she suddenly froze. She slowly turned her head and saw a slightly hidden camera in the corner of the study. Her heart stopped when she saw the red light indicating that it was not a decoration.

"You really disappoint me," Adam said as he suddenly appeared in the study like a devil, pushing open the door.

Alice was so frightened that her passport fell to the ground and she stepped back, her face turning pale.

Adam glanced at the things on the ground and spoke in a cold and intimidating voice, "Is this what you meant when you said you wouldn't run away again?"

"You...you set me up?" Alice realized.

Adam stepped forward and grabbed her face tightly, causing Alice to gasp in pain.

"Otherwise, do you think you can live a good life by my side?" Adam sneered.

"You...you demon!" Alice's eyes were filled with tears and she hated him deeply."Yes, I am a demon, and I'm here to torture you!" Adam declared.

The scene shifted and Alice was thrown into the basement.

"Ahh!" Alice fell to the ground and quickly got up.

But she was too slow, the door closed, and the entire basement was plunged into darkness!

"Open the door! Let me out!" Alice pounded on the door with her hands and kicked it with her feet. "Let me out! Adam, Adam!"

But no one answered her.

Alice leaned against the door, staring at the dark basement, tightly wrapped in long-forgotten fear.

When she was twelve years old, she accidentally dropped Adam's phone into the toilet while using it to study. He then threw her into the basement.

At that time, her uncle and aunt were not at home, and she felt like she had been forgotten. She was hungry for three days and three nights before Adam finally let her out.
