Year 3025....
A meteor descended from the skies and it came destroying the north pole. Making the continent shook. It was a disaster and the north pole melted. Making a rise to the water levels itself.
A month after, monsters came out of nowhere and went attacking the cities and armies were deployed.
Monsters came and appeared, almost destroyed humanity. Almost half of humanity was taken and liberated in just a year. All thought that it was the end but nope. 90% of human territory was taken and only 10% survived due to having walls and barriers.
The geeks and cultured people that read novels all thought that there will be hope. But nope, no system came, no global awakening, no magic nor powers.
So only one way..... technology! Then it all made possible by one man. It was Renji.
Renji watched the news of monster that broke through the barrier of City A. The beating of missiles towards the monster that was 9 storeys high was palpable from his location. He was having a coffee and the ground was shaking with every step of the monster.
It was a collosal level but only ranked B in its rank. It was only big but the threat level was low.
It roared and then it's scaly salamander like face came roaring as its scaled skin was being bombarded. Renji saw that it was having trouble as it was attacked from left to right.
Then suddenly a ray of light appeared and it pierced through the enemy. Making a huge hole from its chest and then it stopped it's movements. It's eyes went blank and blood rained right after.
The monster then smashed the ground with a loud thud. The crowd panicked and then they went running as they screamed.
The person responsible for the attack of enemy was none other than on the top of the building. The best friend he has. She's none other than Xia. The top ranker of the Monster Slayer Corps.
The two were childhood friends and Renji sworn to her that he would be the greatest monster slayer one day. But to his disappointment, he was affected by the essence from the meteor and he was crippled. Making him to become a trash of the society. Then they did not know that Renji was a genius inventor.
He was critically acclaimed as the best inventor of the Inventor corps. Making the fight against the monsters to get into another level.
With his achievements, he was still unhappy. Making him to wallow in grief. He wanted to be a fighter in the front lines and get admitted to the Academy.
He turned the TV off and then he watched his mail box having a mail inside. His wheel chair then went to see it and he grabbed the mail inside.
He saw the it was a pink mail. Wondering what it's content was and only special things were sent by a physical mail this time of year.
One could send a mail or message by online but this was a physical mail. What could it be? Was it a summon to the court? Renji was having wild thoughts and was terrified by such mails.
It was a pink letter and he smelled perfume. "At least you can smell this unlike online mail." He thought.
Until he saw the sender. It was Xia.
His best friend will get married and he got invited with a letter. His tears welled from his eyes and his heart was pained with every beat. He calmed himself but it was for naught. His floating AI bot was shut down by a EMP that took the city to shut down with all its technology.
"Damn why now?" Renji was getting troubled.
He tried to dial from his phone but it was shut downed by the recent EMP attack.
He tried to stand up but he slammed on the floor and his breathing were hasty. The only thing that held him dying was his best friend. He has to at least see her get wed or at least see her children. But still, he was not able to held his life from ebbing and his eyes slowly dimmed.
He took one last breath, it was painful, but if one thing would at least he dreamed of, it was to reset the time and at least make his dreams come true.
His life was well lived. But it could do more. He closed his eyes, wishing that he could live again in the past or at least in the future. Regression or rebirth? Was it even possible?
He was feeling calm in his last moments and his muscles relaxed. Making him to pass away in peace.
Titit! Titit! Titit!
He woke up and saw that he was alive! He went to see his toes wiggle and it felt wrong. Why he could still move his feet and toes? He went to scan the surroundings and then saw the familiar feeling. He felt small for an old man like him.
He went to see the mirror and saw his youthful face. He immediately smiled and tears welled from his eyes. Wiping it then sniffles.
He went to see the date from his phone and then saw that it was year 3025.
"What? 3043?" He was still 18 years old and was still about to get to college. "Wait, that means I can still go to the Academy! That's it!"
He immediately leaped and went rejoicing while screaming. "Wait!? Mom and dad are still alive!" He dashed and then went running towards them. Making their reunion to happen while in tears. It was weird for his parents but he did it in his sway of emotions. His parents felt happy and Renji was weeping greatly. Hugging him back as they felt the sincere and heart warming feeling of the moment.
His mother was worried but she immediately kissed him on the cheeks. Up until, he realized, he will change his fate and as well as his parents. As they still lived in this timeline and not anymore in the past.
