Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Birth of Naravoss

Under the veil of a moonless night, the forsaken grove bore witness to the birth of a child destined to walk in shadow. He was named Naravoss, a name that whispered promises of power and destruction. His mother, Lanfear, the Daughter of the Night, recognized immediately the danger and potential her son held—a direct threat to her own pursuits of power. With a heart encased in ice, she abandoned Naravoss in the grove, believing her path should remain unencumbered by the bonds of maternity.

The infant's cries pierced the night, a sound too desolate for any passerby to ignore. Yet, it was not a kindly soul that found Naravoss, but Mordeth, a servant of the Dark One, known for his cunning and ruthlessness. Sensing the latent power within the child, Mordeth took Naravoss under his dark wing, intending to mold him into a weapon against the Light.

As Naravoss grew, so did his awareness of the gift he possessed, Saidin, the male half of the One Power. Under Mordeth's strict and often cruel tutelage, Naravoss learned to embrace the euphoria, using it as a source of strength rather than succumbing to its madness. His days were filled with rigorous training sessions, pushing his limits, breaking them, and then building them up again.

"Control is an illusion, young Naravoss," Mordeth would often say. "True power comes from unleashing your potential, not containing it."

By the age of twenty, Naravoss had mastered feats of Saidin that few could dream of, manipulating the very essence of destruction and creation. His heart grew colder with each passing day, his humanity slipping away like shadows at dawn. Mordeth praised his progress, but in the secrecy of night, Naravoss battled the loneliness that clawed at his soul, a reminder of the mother who had abandoned him to this fate.

The day came when Lews Therin Telamon and his companions sought to seal the Dark One's prison, a moment Mordeth had prepared Naravoss for. Disguised as a loyal follower of Lews Therin, Naravoss infiltrated the group of channelers gathered at Shayol Ghul.
