Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: The Alluring Handsome Man

"I admit I was drawn to him. You give me the cold shoulder, so I can't just turn into a block of wood too, can I? Compared to you, at least Lionel is gentle to me!"

"Gentle? Hmph..." He snorted coldly, and the car suddenly accelerated.

I rolled my eyes at him, clinging tightly to the seat, and couldn't help but curse under my breath. How can there be such an unreasonable man on this earth?

Isn't Paris supposed to be the city of romance? Why are the men around me so unromantic?

The dashingly handsome Dene William can't even compare to a vampire who's trying to win my favor?!

Fuming in the car, what was supposed to be a mood-lifting candlelit dinner ended up fueling my anger instead. It was truly cursed—literally, since I encountered a vampire!

After returning to the residence, Rion had already left for an inspection, leaving the entire house empty.

I stormed straight to my room, slammed the door, and kicked my shoes onto the sofa. Then, I undid my updo and tore off the luxurious evening gown, muttering to myself, "What's with the attitude? Do you think I enjoy trying to seduce you? I'd rather seduce a vampire! Hmph! It's like I'm the one chasing after someone who doesn't care."

I walked to the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror with disdain. "Failed at seduction! Move out! From now on, you won't even get to see Bevis, who's always risking his life. You can even give up your only family! Margie, you coward!"

I grabbed the soap from the soap dish and slapped it twice. "This is your punishment. You can't abandon Bevis. He's your closest cousin, the one who loves Margie the most!" After saying that, I put the soap back, feeling an overwhelming sense of loss.

Knock, knock, knock... The knocking was neither hurried nor slow.

I adjusted my robe and opened the door. Dene stood there in slippers, wrapped in a pristine white robe, as if he had just bathed. His chest was partially exposed, his hair still dripping, radiating a captivating charm. His handsome face wore a calm smile, yet it was enough to captivate anyone.

"Can I come in?"

I quickly shook off my admiration for his beauty and hardened my expression. "What is it?" I was still furious, and even the sight of a handsome man wasn't enough to quell the anger in my heart.

"This is very important. I need to come in to talk."

I stepped aside to let him in.

He hesitated for a moment before stepping inside, closing the door, and stood in front of me, silent.

Three minutes passed, and he still hadn't spoken. I couldn't help but urge him, "What is it? Spit it out!"

He swiftly reached out, pulled me into his arms, and sealed my lips with his.

Passionate Dessert

The sudden touch left me stunned. His abrupt movement and scorching lips startled me. My eyes widened as I stared at his handsome face so close to mine, unsure of what to do.

He let out a helpless sigh, raised his hand to cover my wide eyes, and pulled my arms around his firm waist. His tongue skillfully explored my mouth, as if trying to stir something within me.

But I felt nothing. I clumsily responded, our lips and tongues naturally entwining. Beyond the tender embrace, all I felt was a faint freshness in his mouth and a slight, dizzying sensation.

Yet, my mind couldn't help but drift to that damn vampire. Why did just sitting with him feel so intoxicating, while this kiss felt like mere lip gymnastics?

His breath grew heavier as the kiss deepened. His hand, wrapped around my waist, roamed freely across my back, pressing me closer to him. The belt of my robe came undone, and my graceful curves were pressed tightly against him. "Margie, do you want it?"

His kisses quickly spread to my neck and ears, skillfully teasing my earlobe, making me shiver uncontrollably. I wanted to cling to his shoulders but also push him away.

"Dene!" I struggled to call his name.

"Hmm?" He affectionately kissed my collarbone.

My soft body involuntarily leaned back, and in my daze, I saw a figure in a silver-gray suit standing by the window. His auburn hair fluttered in the breeze, his melancholic blue eyes glaring at me with a brooding intensity.

Damn it, when did he get there?

"No—" I abruptly pushed Dene away and turned to the window, only to find no one there.

And so, the five-minute passionate kiss and the prelude that was about to lead to the bed came to an abrupt halt.

Dene reluctantly played with the strands of hair by my ear, then helped me adjust my robe. His voice was still husky with lingering desire. "Alright, consider this a treat after our date. Goodnight, we have training tomorrow!" With that, he turned and left, closing the door behind him.

I touched my lips, frowning in confusion. A treat?! Why didn't I feel that way? Instead, it felt like he was the one who had fallen for it.

I walked to the window, drew back the curtains, and peered outside. There was indeed no sign of a vampire. Was it just my imagination?

After showering, I changed into a soft cotton nightgown, dried my hair, turned off the lights, and got into bed, pulling the covers over me.

The curtains suddenly billowed, and the moonlight mixed with neon light spilled in, casting a gentle golden glow on the white carpet.

"Margie, Margie..."

I looked over and saw a tall, elegant figure standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, still dressed in silver-gray attire, his auburn hair dazzlingly beautiful.

He slowly walked over, murmuring softly, "Margie, have you missed me? Why are you with Dene? You don't love him, do you? Do you know how much it hurts me? Where did you put the ring I gave you?"
