Chapter 65 - A Rare Encounter with a Kindred Spirit

"Hehe... Of course, seeing your pale face makes me feel great!" Kenneth smirked wickedly, the corner of his lips curling up as he glanced at Lionel before continuing, "If the baron ever tires of you, I will surely take you into my earl's mansion and make you angry every day."

I smiled faintly and responded politely, "If I ever get the chance to enter your earl's mansion, I will make sure to torment you until you bleed from all seven orifices, your brains burst, and your bones are shattered to pieces!"

Lionel let out another infuriating low chuckle, pulling me toward Henry. "Margie, aside from his slight bias against you, Kenneth is actually not that bad."

So, it seemed their relationship was indeed quite close.

"I know he's your good friend, but he's my enemy! This relationship is clear and unambiguous."

I spoke through gritted teeth, raising an eyebrow as I complained to him helplessly, "Lionel, have you noticed that my teeth have become much straighter than before?" I bared my teeth at him to show him.

He frowned, leaning in to carefully examine my teeth. "Your teeth have always been neat and beautiful. I don't see any changes. Did you get braces again?"

Braces again? "I've never had braces! But recently, I've been grinding my teeth so much that I can feel them becoming straighter!"

"Hahaha..." He burst into uncontrollable laughter, taking the opportunity to peck my lips and tightening his arm around my waist.

I glared at him, raising an eyebrow in annoyance. "Can you control yourself? Everyone is watching us!"

I didn't mind him drawing attention, but it would be better if he didn't drag me into it. It was just as Dene had said—he was "showing off" that he had gotten himself a fairy.

It wasn't until Elder Henry came over to greet us that he finally managed to stop laughing.

The vampire's birthday party was indeed unique. Not only were the men handsome and the women beautiful, but there were also numerous performances.

However, the so-called performances were hardly commendable. The next one, in particular, made me want to avoid it at all costs.

Earl Kenneth brought in six stunningly handsome men. It was said that they were his long-time bodyguards. The performance involved Monica biting each of them and then guessing their ages based on their blood. For each correct guess, the generous earl would gift that man to Monica.

The guests eagerly gathered around the dance floor, while the six men stood in the center, waiting for the birthday girl, Monica, to deliver her "vampire kiss."

As expected, the moment Monica bit into the first man's neck, the surrounding crowd became excited, their eyes turning blood-red and fangs bared in anticipation.

As a blood bag, I was undoubtedly the most tantalizing delicacy in the room!

The hall fell into dead silence, and I could only hear my own breathing. But in the distance, I noticed someone with a complexion as rosy as mine.

How had I not noticed such a striking man until now? Perhaps I had been too focused on Lionel.

He had pure silver-white hair, combed back in a style reminiscent of a martial arts hero. His hair reached down to his waist, straight, smooth, and gleaming.

His narrow phoenix eyes naturally carried a hint of a smile, with pure black pupils that sparkled like stars. His handsome face couldn't simply be described as handsome—it was mysterious. His skin had a faint silver hue that blended with his hair, giving him an eerie yet captivating beauty. He wore a simple yet elegant dark green Tang suit, exuding classical charm. Just sitting there, his beauty was already mesmerizing.

He looked to be in his thirties, yet there was an air of timeless wisdom and grace about him.

Was he Chinese? Was he a vampire?

Vampires didn't have such healthy, rosy complexions.

He noticed me too, and as our eyes met, I felt a powerful attraction drawing me toward him.

While the vampires were eagerly watching Monica bite the first man's neck, I stood up from my chair and made my way through the crowd toward him.

Without a word, he also stood up, gracefully taking my hand and giving it a polite kiss, then gestured for me to follow him to the balcony of the banquet hall.

Strangely, I could sense his kindness and gentleness, but it wasn't the kind of gentleness a man shows toward a woman. It felt more like an innate familial warmth.

"Do I know you?" I leaned on the balcony railing, but instead of seeing the stars, I saw a canopy of trees.

"We've met, but in reality, this is our first meeting. I am Hue," he replied with a polite smile.

We've met, but it's our first meeting? What a strange answer, just like the man himself.

But I couldn't recall where I had seen him before.

"My name is Margie!"

"I know you. Your father, Eason Lee, is an old acquaintance of mine."

"You know that scoundrel?"

I couldn't muster any goodwill toward Eason Lee. Just hearing his name reminded me of my long-deceased mother, filling me with sadness.

"Eason Lee wasn't all bad. Before you were born, he truly loved your mother."

"Alright, Mr. Hue, I don't think you enjoy bringing up people's painful memories as a way to start a conversation, do you?"

His air of timeless wisdom made it hard for me to harbor any malice. "Why are you here?" That was what I really wanted to know. "Aren't you afraid they'll bite you? It's clear you're not an ordinary person."

"I'm the same as you! Elder Henry is an old friend of mine."

"How old are you?"

"I've forgotten how old I am. Probably hundreds of thousands of years old!"
