Chapter 66 - A Blockhead

God, I can actually sense what they're thinking?

In reality, that Monica only gave me a brief glance.

Lionel still didn't seem to care at all. He lazily held me in his arms, even less afraid that the silver necklace around my neck might harm him—what's eerie is, the silver necklace had no effect on him!

I couldn't help but wonder if this necklace was cursed.

He lazily nestled his face into the crook of my neck, greedily inhaling my scent, and chuckled in a low voice, "Hehe... I'm happy, of course I'll laugh. Besides, it's been centuries since I've been this happy!"

As he spoke, his cool breath brushed against my skin, and his soft lips touched my skin in an ambiguous way, sending a tingling sensation through me that made me shiver. I was too afraid his fangs might suddenly appear, making my voice tremble unnaturally, "Are you saying... you like me?"

Even though I might be reading too much into it, his heart clearly wanted to express this sentiment strongly.

Holding me like this warmed his heart, filling him with sweetness.

Suddenly, he felt like a big dog who had just gotten a bone, expressing his unprecedented joy through physical affection.

He asked seriously, "Haven't I told you that I love you?"

It was enough to make me feel like vomiting blood and fainting.

I nodded gravely and teased, "You really haven't said it!"

He slightly loosened his hold on me, frowning as he defended himself, "I clearly remember saying it once!"

"Who did you say it to? When did you say it? Please tell me exactly when, where, and how it happened, because I don't remember you saying it!

Ah, maybe you said it to your Princess Sibylle or Miss Alma, and then, subconsciously, you mistook me for them, so you thought you'd said it?!"

"The time was the night before you came to the baron's castle, the location was in your room, and what happened was that I told you I loved you and even took out my heart to show you!"

Oh my god, that was just a nightmare! How could he make it sound like it really happened?

"I dreamed about it, so it doesn't count as you saying it!"

"I'm sorry, but that was the real me. You were just out of your body!" He narrowed his eyes and smiled with a sinister gleam, like a cunning fox.

I looked at him in disbelief, "Are you saying... the one in my dream was the real you?!"

"Yes, otherwise how would I remember it so clearly? But some parts weren't the real me—they were just pure dreams. As for which parts were real and which weren't, you'll have to figure that out yourself!"

Damn it, he actually invaded my dreams to torment me, scared me with a heart, licked my blood with his hooked fingers, and even bit my neck, vowing to turn me into a vampire... With his cryptic answers, he deliberately made it hard for me to distinguish between what was real and what wasn't. Heavens, how evil, evil, evil!

"Margie, you look really pale. Are you still feeling dizzy from anemia?" He carefully cupped my face and asked with concern, "Are you feeling unwell?"

I glared at him with a murderous look, "Can you tell that I want to kill someone?"

I really wanted to grab a big club and knock him straight to the South Pacific. How could this damn thousand-year-old monster still be alive and well in this world? Where is justice?!

He was clearly startled by my thoughts and frowned, "Uh... who do you want to kill?"

"My husband!"

"Your husband?" He pursed his lips, his deep blue eyes darkening as he released me and asked unhappily, "You're not married. What husband? Don't tell me you're treating your ex-boyfriend Dene as your husband?"

"I've realized you're really lacking in one talent!" All looks, but his head is made of solid wood!

"What talent?"

"The talent to take a hint. The 'husband' I'm referring to is you—the one who invaded my dreams and deserves to be struck by lightning—Baron Lionel Albert!"

"Hahaha..." His laughter grew even more unrestrained, as if he thoroughly enjoyed my "murderous intent toward my husband."

Unfortunately, being continuously embraced by him like this, I was subjected to an unprecedented assault of glares. If Miss Monica's gaze were blades, I would have been sliced into a thousand pieces, leaving no trace of my body!

Lionel didn't get a chance to ask me about Hue because the bloody game in the hall had ended, and Monica had kept the three handsome men Kenneth gifted her as a grand prize.

"Baron, let's play a duet—piano and cello. It's our classic combination!" The birthday girl was in high spirits.

Lionel politely agreed with a smile. He seated me in a chair between Kenneth and Winans, then turned to take the cello a servant had brought over. Sitting on the ornate high-backed chair in the center, his natural aura of dominance and nobility was on full display.

I had thought he would play the piano. Those fingers, which seemed capable of blooming roses, were wasted not playing the piano.

Meanwhile, Monica sat at the piano. The two exchanged a默契 glance, and the music began to flow like a gentle stream... This melody sounded so familiar!

Suddenly, I remembered the song I had heard on my first day at the baron's castle, after my bath. It was so melancholic, so heavy, as if it were tearing through silk in despair. The hidden pain and emotion in it were probably only something the dead could endure—and indeed, aside from me and Hue, the original spirit, everyone here was dead!

Just as I was about to give up and head to the balcony for some fresh air, Rui Jones suddenly stopped in front of me, bent down, reached out his hand, and with a sinister, soft smile, whispered an invitation, "Sibylle, let's dance."

I replied impatiently, "I'm not Sibylle, and I have no interest in dancing."

He clearly let out a cold snort, gritted his teeth, and commanded in a low voice, "No one dares to defy me. You'd better obey."
