Chapter 1 - Ch1

Ezra Beaver is an average guy—well, at least in some respects. He is strikingly handsome, almost to model standards, but aside from that, he leads a typical life as a university student.

At 20 years old, Ezra's university experience has been quite eventful. He began his studies at 18 and was immediately captivated by one of his professors, Jenna Wigglesworth-Cook. At the time, she was 47 years old, and Ezra found her incredibly attractive. While he noticed some signs of her age, such as her sagging breasts, he considered these features to be alluring rather than off-putting.

Ezra has always been drawn to older women, though he couldn't quite pinpoint why. Perhaps it was influenced by his unique family background; his parents were both lesbians, and one of his mothers was older than the other. His older mother, who passed away at the age of 72, had adopted him when she was 59, while his other mother was only 18 at the time. It might sound strange, but that's just how life unfolded for him.

Initially, Jenna seemed indifferent to Ezra when he started university, but he was determined to win her over. His attraction to her was so strong that he was willing to go the extra mile. During his first year, he began to do small, thoughtful things for her, like bringing her sweets after discovering her sweet tooth, showering her with compliments that made her smile, and occasionally flirting with her. Though she didn't always respond to his advances, her smiles showed that she appreciated his attention.

In his second year, Ezra continued his efforts, leaving her little gifts, complimenting her, and flirting more boldly—winking at her and licking his lips whenever their eyes met. To his delight, Jenna seemed increasingly receptive to his charm.

Then came a surprising turn in his third year. One day, Jenna asked him to stay after class, and he could hardly contain his excitement. Imagine his shock when she suddenly grabbed him by the collar and started kissing him passionately.

Why was he shocked? Because he never expected her to act on their chemistry, especially given that she was married. But despite his surprise, he was overjoyed and eagerly kissed her back.

Before long, their heated encounter escalated, and they ended up having sex in the classroom. Miraculously, they were not caught. After that fateful day, they exchanged phone numbers and began texting each other regularly.

About a month later, they arranged to meet at a love hotel, where they indulged in their passionate affair once more.

You might think this would lead to a secret romance that would continue until Ezra graduated. However, life had other plans.

One evening after classes, Jenna called him, her voice tinged with worry. To his astonishment, she announced that she was pregnant. Ezra, initially taken aback, congratulated her, assuming she had conceived with her husband. But Jenna quickly clarified that her husband had undergone a vasectomy, having already fathered two children from a previous marriage.

And thus, this is where the story truly begins: Ezra, the unsuspecting student, has accidentally knocked up his professor.

———

Ezra felt a surge of anxiety as he hopped into his trusty Toyota Corolla, the engine roaring to life as he sped down the familiar roads leading to the diner outside of town. He had agreed to meet Jenna there after their unsettling phone conversation, and the thought of seeing her again filled him with a mix of excitement and dread.

As he drove, his mind raced with questions about the implications of her news. How could this have happened? What would it mean for both of their lives? He pushed the gas pedal harder, eager to reach the diner and collect his thoughts before she arrived.

Upon reaching the diner, Ezra parked quickly, his heart pounding. He stepped out and took a moment to breathe deeply, trying to steady himself before entering. The diner was a quaint little place, with neon lights flickering invitingly. Inside, he chose a booth in the corner, hoping for some semblance of privacy for what was sure to be an intense conversation. He slid into the seat and fidgeted with the sugar packets on the table, glancing around nervously.

Minutes ticked by, and just as he began to wonder if she would show up, he spotted Jenna walking through the door. She looked beautiful as always, but the worry etched on her face was unmistakable. Her normally bright eyes were clouded with uncertainty as she scanned the diner until they landed on him. With a slight hesitation, she approached the booth and slid into the seat across from him, her expression serious.

"Hey..." Ezra greeted her awkwardly, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Ezra..." she replied, nodding slowly as she cleared her throat. "So... yeah, as I said over the phone... I'm pregnant." She gulped, her eyes darting away for a moment before locking back onto his. "And it's... yours."

"H-how though...? I mean, I used protection." His voice shook slightly as he shook his head in disbelief.

"Well, shit. I don't fucking know!" Jenna grumbled, leaning back in her chair as if trying to distance herself from the weight of her words. "Maybe it ripped or something. I told you to not be so rough." She sighed, frustration evident in her tone.

"You liked it though." He smirked, trying to lighten the mood, but the look she shot him made the smile fade from his face. He instantly focused on the tabletop, feeling the heat creep into his cheeks.

"This isn't funny!" she hissed, her voice low but sharp. "My marriage is done. I not only cheated on Carlos, but I got pregnant too..." Her head fell onto the table, and Ezra could see her shoulders trembling slightly.

"I'm sorry." He leaned back in the chair.

"It's not your fault," she sighed, lifting her head to meet his gaze. There was a flicker of vulnerability in her eyes, but it was quickly overshadowed by the storm of emotions swirling within her.

"But it is," he murmured, looking down at his hands. "I mean, I was the one who got you into this mess."

Jenna shook her head vehemently. "You didn't force me. I made my own choices. I could have stopped it, but I didn't. And now look where we are."

Ezra rubbed his temples, feeling the tension building. "What are we going to do? This is... huge. What about your husband? What about your career?"

She sighed heavily, her eyes welling with tears. "I don't know, Ezra. I never wanted this. I never wanted to hurt Carlos, but... I can't pretend that what we had was just a fling. It meant something to me."

"But it's not just about what it meant to you anymore," he countered, frustration creeping into his voice. "You have a family, a husband, responsibilities. Are you really prepared to throw all of that away?"

Jenna recoiled slightly, her expression a mix of anger and hurt. "You think I wanted to be in this position? I didn't plan for any of this! I was trying to find something for myself, something real, and now it's all blown up in my face."

Ezra sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "I just... I don't know how to make this right. I'm scared, Jenna."

She softened, her anger subsiding as she reached across the table to touch his hand. "I'm scared too. I didn't expect to feel this way about you, and now this… this is just too much."

Silence enveloped them as they both took a moment to process their emotions. Ezra looked up, his eyes searching hers for some semblance of clarity. "What do we do now?"

"I think we need to be honest with ourselves first," she replied, her voice steadier now. "We have to figure out if we can face the consequences of our actions together. I need to decide if I want to keep the baby."

Ezra swallowed hard, the enormity of her words settling in. "And if you do? What happens to us?"

Jenna sighed deeply, her gaze drifting to the window, watching the sun dip below the horizon. "I don't know. I wish I had answers. But for now, we have to take it one step at a time."

As Ezra and Jenna sat in the diner, a heavy silence settled between them, punctuated only by the clinking of silverware and the soft murmur of other patrons. Jenna broke the quiet first, a hesitant smile creeping onto her face. "Do you want to share a slice of pie?"

Ezra chuckled lightly, relieved to see a hint of her usual playful demeanor. "Sure, why not? I could use some comfort food right about now."

They ordered a slice of cherry pie to share, and as they waited, they engaged in small talk about random things. When their pie arrived, they dug in, the sweet and tangy flavors momentarily distracting them from their reality.

"This is really good," Ezra said, savoring a bite. "I needed this."

"Me too," Jenna replied, her eyes softening as she watched him eat.

After finishing the pie, they lingered for a few more minutes, their hands brushing against each other on the table. The atmosphere had shifted slightly, the tension replaced with a quiet understanding. As they prepared to leave, Ezra stood up first and extended his hand to help Jenna out of the booth. They shared a lingering gaze, and without thinking, Ezra leaned in, capturing her lips with his in a gentle kiss. It was a sweet farewell.

"Call me, okay?" he said softly, stepping back, his heart racing.

"Always," she replied, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears.
