Chapter 2 - I'm sorry, I can't help you

"Are you sure this is the place? "Soisen asked doubtfully as he looked at the Leaky Cauldron.

"Don't worry, we know what we're doing "Ann assured him" Let's go.

The smell inside was even worse, the tables were not clean, and the floor was sticky. If Soisen had to conduct a hygiene inspection in the place, he would have given it a fail by now.

Was that mold on the bread?

"Mr. Tom? "Ann called out.

"Welcome "a man approached from behind the bar and when he saw Soisen, he seemed to understand the situation" New student at Hogwarts? "seeing them nod, he gestured for them to follow him" Don't worry, it's not the first time some Muggles come to Diagon Alley. Follow me.

The family of three didn't say anything to correct Tom. It was better for them to be mistaken for Muggles than for people to realize that two of them were Squibs.

Tom led them to a brick wall next to a garbage can, tapped on the wall, and the bricks opened to reveal the largest magical market in all of Great Britain.

"Welcome to Diagon Alley! "Tom declared proudly.

He always loved saying that phrase to those visiting the place for the first time.

"Before you go shopping, I suggest you exchange Muggle money for magical money at Gringotts, the wizarding bank. Just follow the path until you see a large white building guarded by goblins. Good luck.

After the wall returned to normalcy after they crossed it, the three of them looked around curiously.

"Shall we go to Gringotts then? "Soisen asked.

"No need, we brought some Galleons with us "Ingta replied, patting her bag confidently " Let's get everything you need.

And so, over the next two hours, they asked for directions and easily obtained almost everything on the list.

"Well, we only need two things left "Ingta said after checking what they had with them.

"The pet and the wand "Ann stated.

"I'll take Rada with me to Hogwarts "Soisen said, dismissing the pet issue" They suggest a cat, a toad, or a rat. But I've read the letter several times and it doesn't say anything about not being able to bring another creature. Only that I can't have my own broomstick. Rada is already trained, and I don't think anyone in their right mind would have a toad or a frog as a pet, which is literally just more work for nothing. Besides, imagine the chaos that would occur if someone brings a cat as a pet.

"We should still buy an owl for us, we haven't had one since we parted from our families, and otherwise, you won't be able to write to us every week. I know Hogwarts has a public Owlery that you could use, but I would feel more comfortable if it were a family owl. Also, this way, you could write to your friends during the summer or respond to any other magical correspondence.

"Do I have to write you a letter every week? "Soisen asked surprised, but faced with the powerful gazes of his two mothers, he could only comply" Yes, ma'am.

"I'll go "Ingta said " Ann, you and Soisen go to Ollivander's. We'll meet there when we're done.

After reaching an agreement, they split up, and Ann took Soisen to the famous wand shop. Upon entering, Soisen frowned. Although it was cleaner than the Leaky Cauldron, the amount of dust on the wand boxes was unpleasant.

"Welcome!

"Ah! "Soisen startled and unconsciously released a wave of magic to defend himself, sending the elderly man who appeared behind him through the glass display, landing on the street to the surprise of many wizards passing by.

"Mr. Ollivander! "Ann recognized the old man and hurried to help him up " Are you alright?

"What? "Ollivander was a bit dazed and disoriented by the sudden attack " Oh, of course. I think it was my fault, don't worry "he said as he pulled out his wand and with a flick, restored the display as if nothing had happened" I'm getting too old, I should correct this habit of mine… "he muttered.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Ollivander "Soisen apologized.

"It's nothing, it's nothing "Ollivander looked at him with interest" I don't remember you, which means you're here for your first wand, right?

Soisen nodded.

"Which is your dominant arm?

"I'm ambidextrous.

Ollivander hesitated for a moment, not sure how to react, and after snapping out of it, he began to measure with the tape and didn't try to remember Ann's wand because he had no memory of selling her any. Then, it must be a Muggle-born wizard.

Soon, Ollivander returned with some boxes.

"Unusual measurements. Try this one, Mr...?

"Soisen, Soisen Galegold.

Suddenly, the boxes in the entire shop began to shake for a moment before becoming inert again.

"Strange "Ollivander muttered, he had never seen such a reaction before " As I was saying, Mr. Galegold, try this one. Thirteen inches, black walnut wood and dragon heartstring core, a bit rigid and good for charms.

Before he could even stretch his fingers to pick up the wand, Ollivander decisively withdrew it.

"No, this is wrong! "he put it away decisively " Try this other one, twelve and a half inches, rowan wood and unicorn hair, flexible and decent for defensive magic.

Soisen didn't even touch the wand before Ollivander also withdrew it.

"No! No! This one either. Maybe this one will be more suitable, twelve inches, willow wood and phoenix feather, slightly flexible, ideal for healing powers.

This time Ollivander didn't withdraw the wand, and Soisen was able to touch his first wand. The wood was well polished, and the texture was smooth.

"Go on, what are you waiting for? Wave it! "urged Ollivander.

"Oh, right "Soisen waved the wand slightly to the side.

BOOM!

Passersby in front of the famous wand shop saw the business owner being shot out onto the street again, with his scant hair on his head burning in purple fire.

"No! This is clearly wrong! "he said, tears welling up in his eyes as he looked at the pile of wooden fragments that were perfectly usable wands this morning before exploding in the hands of his latest customer " I'm sorry, Mr. Galegold, but I don't think I can provide you with a wand. None of my wands can withstand channeling your magic, and I don't understand the reason "the only thing Ollivander understood was why the wands trembled a while ago.

They were afraid of ending up in the boy's hands!

"What... "both Ann and Soisen were bewildered and embarrassed as they looked at the shattered wands " Mr. Ollivander, how much do we owe you for the damaged wands?

"Owe? Nothing! "Ollivander suddenly said excitedly, with fire in his eyes and raising his fist in the air " I thought I had reached the pinnacle on the path of wandmaking, but Mr. Galegold has taught me a lesson in humility. There is still much to discover in this wonderful art!

"What do I do then? "Soisen asked dejectedly as he contemplated his hands " I can't go to Hogwarts without a wand, can I?

"Mr. Galegold, although I am reluctant to give you this suggestion... perhaps you should try alternative methods. Staves, grimoires, or even wandless magic "Ollivander suggested with a sad face " Unfortunately, the art of creating grimoires was lost years ago due to the disdain of tradition, and only a few remain changing hands in the world. Staves could be helpful, but they cast magic with completely different movements than a wand and can harm you with a wrong gesture, which would be counterproductive for your studies and your health. So only try wandless magic remains.

"But that requires excellent control of magic at the same time as strong magic. Soisen is just a child "Ann said worriedly.

"I can assure from personal experience that Mr. Galegold has more than enough magic to meet the second requirement "Ollivander pointed out bitterly at the shattered wands and his damaged shop " As for control, it only requires the will to wield it. While it is true that a young wizard's mind is restless, I can suggest that you practice Occlumency, and in a few months, you should achieve a decent level of control.

"Oh, that won't be a problem "Ann commented, releasing a sigh of relief " Soisen is a natural Occlumens.
