Chapter 4 - An Unforgettable Ceremony

Snapping his fingers wasn't actually necessary to perform wandless magic; waving his index finger like a wand was more than enough, but Soisen loved doing it.

It gave him something that no wand could match: style and flair.

After shooing away the very excited Hermione with the excuse that they needed to change into their uniforms, they disembarked from the train and met up with Hagrid.

"All first-years, this way! "the half-giant shouted " Hi, Harry, everything alright? Great, follow me and don't stray.

They followed the Keeper of Keys through the darkness, with only the lantern visible in the distance, causing many newcomers to trip over protruding roots. Soisen led the way with the golden trio, being able to see where he stepped.

"Get into the boats, but no more than four per boat!

After crossing the lake and admiring the visual spectacle that is Hogwarts for the first time, they were guided by Hagrid until Professor McGonagall took over.

"Is it true that we'll have to fight a troll?

"My sister told me it's a dancing contest!

"Nonsense! Clearly, we'll have to solve some riddles.

After the encounter between Malfoy and Harry, which Soisen didn't intervene in because he didn't want to and it had nothing to do with him, everyone entered the Great Hall under the gaze of second-year students and above, as well as the teachers.

At least Neville was spared the embarrassment of finding his toad in front of all the newcomers and didn't receive a stern look from Minerva.

"The sky isn't real, it's enchanted to look like the one outside —Hermione whispered to the girl next to her " I read it in Hogwarts: A History.

"Hey, are you okay? "Harry asked when he noticed Soisen looking around.

"Huh? Oh, yeah. Just excited for what's to come next "he replied.

There was so much magic concentrated in the air! If outside the magical concentration was one, at these moments it should almost reach a solid five.

Although the floating candles weren't the best idea, Soisen was worried about having to face a rain of hot wax. It wouldn't be pleasant in any sense, whether it fell on him or his food.

Whose stupid idea was it? Spells like Lumos and similar ones served the same purpose perfectly well without the danger of burns or choking hazards.

"Wait here, please! Before we begin, the headmaster will say a few words.

The elderly man with a long beard and half-moon glasses stood up and scanned the newcomers before beginning.

"There are a few things I'd like to remind you all of. Everyone must remember that students are not allowed to enter the Forbidden Forest under any circumstances. And our caretaker, Mr. Filch, has asked me to remind you that the third-floor corridor on the right-hand side is forbidden to anyone who does not wish for the most painful of deaths.

Soisen couldn't help but applaud mentally. They had just arrived, and Dumbledore was already detailing that there was an area in the castle that could kill students. That's how safe Hogwarts was.

"When I call your name, you will come forward, I will place the Sorting Hat on your head, and you will know which house you belong to "he lifted a dusty hat to show it and then looked at the parchment in his other hand for a moment before calling the first name " Hermione Granger?

"Gryffindor!

I always thought the hat made a mistake with Hermione, no matter how you look at it. It's true that she's incredibly brave, but she's clearly a Ravenclaw.

"Draco Malfoy?

"Slytherin!

Yes, a very accurate judgment. I had nothing to point out about that.

"Susan Bones?

"Hufflepuff!

It's curious that nobody paid attention to her at the beginning, when her aunt happens to be the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, Amelia Bones. Perhaps it was because she was a half-blood, but it was a good political connection. Wait, didn't her aunt die later?

"Ronald Weasley?

"Gryffindor!

Another mistake by the hat, Ron would undoubtedly be a Hufflepuff with how much he eats and how he eats. In fact, where does all the nutrition he acquires go? It's clear it's not to his head.

"Harry Potter?

Everyone in the Great Hall fell silent and watched intently, including the headmaster. After Slytherin was humiliated and earned the house's enmity for not being able to think instead of whispering...

"Gryffindor!

Soisen wasn't sure if Harry was placed in Gryffindor based on his own merit or due to Dumbledore's intervention. But he certainly wouldn't fit in Slytherin or Ravenclaw. It was Gryffindor or Hufflepuff.

We've got Potter! We've got Potter!

The sorting continued once they finished praising Harry, and the last turn was Soisen's, which left Professor McGonagall a bit perplexed due to his long name.

"Soisen Galegold Evans Valriss Aulus?

He approached the stool and let them place the hat on his head.

"Let's see, where should...? "the Sorting Hat looked into his mind and was perplexed by the familiar sensation he hadn't felt since the founders of the school " Once more, what was your name?

"My name is Soisen Galegold Evans Valriss Aulus, heir of House Galegold.

"You're a Galegold! I haven't seen one since Cyrah. So, after almost a millennium and when I thought there was no chance, is the time finally here? "the hat murmured excitedly " Should I make it official, Galegold heir?

"Go ahead "Soisen replied with a smile.

"Galegold! "the hat exclaimed in the loudest voice of the entire sorting, with an almost ecstatic tone, to the complete bewilderment of those present.

Not even Dumbledore knew why suddenly the castle seemed to respond to the Sorting Hat's declaration, and it began to tremble, pure waves of jubilation and powerful ancient magic coursed through the walls, floor, and ceiling. The magical concentration in the school shot up from five to eight.

"He's alive! "Seinen shouted mentally, unable to contain himself at the ideal occasion to use the famous phrase.

"Look! "a Hufflepuff student shouted " What's that?

People looked in the direction indicated and had the impulse to rub their eyes because where there were once four clocks counting the points of the four houses...

There were now five.
